    Wow Ed, Just to give "your performance" some context. Tom Pidcock is a current World and Olympic Champion, who also rides for probably the best funded World Tour Team. He has all the support available, best equipment, coach, nutrition, physio, team doctor, DS, analysist....the list goes on. You should be incredibly proud that you are still second on this list.....and who knows what you can do again💪. Take nothing away from Tom Pidcock, he is an incredible cyclist who has a massive future in the sport....I am a big fan of his👏

And when yoy ride in perfect conditions it helps a lot. Anyway they are profesionals and are in other level. I can see some pro girls arround my roads and most of them are impossible to follow. • @christinebombrum6367
      @christinebombrum6367 Год назад

      Ed 60kg 378w = Pwr to weight of 6.3w/kg. Tom 58kg 386w 58kg = Pwr to weight of 6.65w/kg. Perhaps but we don't truly know Tom's current weight. It's 0.35 w/kg more so if you take a avg club rider say 80kg 200w thats 2.5w/kg. Say they ride with a guy the same power, 200w, but they are 0.35w/kg more, so 2.85w/kg. It would mean they are 70.1kg. Although it's the same power the later rider would climb faster as their w/kg is more. Does it make sense ? It's a balance between producing as much power as possible for 20-60mins but being as light as possible. If you go too light to quick you can loose muscle/power. Anyone please correct if wrong.

    The question is, what time would Pogacar , Jonas etc get on this climb on a full gas effort. Pidcock is flying, but he isnt the worlds best climber over 20 mins plus, a fair few world tour riders would surpass his time. So how much faster do u reckon pogacar etc could go on this ascent?

    • @elonif4125
      @elonif4125 Год назад +2

      Not very much honestly. 6,6 Watts/Kilo are 6,6 Watts/Kilo and even beasts like Pogacar or Vingegaard would have a hard time going much faster. Maybe half a minute or something like that?

    • @edlaverack
      @edlaverack  Год назад +1

      I suspect the data that has come out has made people think he could have either had a leadout or motor paced, because the speed doesn't match the WKG. But that's not a reason to flag him imo because these are PROs that are training. Could be that his power under reads, for example!

    He did 386W average, or 387W normalised.

      @christinebombrum6367 Год назад

      Ed's said his weight was around 60kg for the ride. Perhaps Tom's is 58kg. I think it's just Pwr to Weight difference as wattage is only slightly more. Ed 60kg 378w = Pwr to weight of 6.3w/kg. Tom 58kg 386w 58kg = Pwr to weight of 6.65w/kg.
