    Hi Emil, your videos are always really helpful! I have kept up my UCAT practice pretty consistently over the year, I am still having trouble with test anxiety. For the first 2 subtests I can generally score well, but I get caught up with timing in QR. I have gone back to the modules, done plenty of practice questions and spent lots of time trying to develop my 'internal clock' but I still struggle sometimes. I know the general rule is 2 minutes per question set, but when I exceed this limit I tend to immediately go on a downward spiral - I panic about not completing the question on time, which makes me go slower! However if I don't set myself that time limit, I space out and spend way too much time on the question. Even the standalone questions send me into a panic because I'm never sure how much time to allocate to them. I do think it's a problem with anxiety because I have scored highly in QR in past mocks, but recently in the lead-up to my exam, I have witnessed my scores dropping :( Do you have any advice for how to progress from here, and stop obsessing over timing while still maintaining speed?

    Hey Emil, I was watching your live VR subtest and was just wondering whether you think it is better to skim read and focus on keywords or read the passage as you go through questions? I saw you doing the latter but I see most advice to do the former because of timing reasons.

    • @EmilEddy
      @EmilEddy  Год назад +3

      it's about finding a balance between the two, I think it's not particularly useful to skim without understanding anything because you waste time in every question if you can't find the answer in 28 seconds. read so you can understand a little bit
