Hi emil, I scored 37/50 in my practice mock in abstract reasoning on medify, but they say that that's a 760, while here a 38/50 is a 870. I am a bit confused cause does that mean in the actual ucat 37/50 will actually be higher than 760? Btw your videos help me a lot, thank you so much.
medify is scaled, so 50th percentile is always 600 so medify isnt very accurate of what u will get in the real exam but its a good indicator of how good u are compared to all the other medify users. so yes in the actual it will probs be higher than 760
makes me feel better that u can get a high score while still skipping quite a few sets 😭!! unfortunately i feel like nowadays a 38/50 wouldnt get you anywhere close to 99th percentile tho..
set A the number of white things on top becomes the number of black things on bottom. Set B the number of white things on top becomes number of white things on bottom.
Hey Emil. How does medentry mark. You got 38/50 questions right (awesome score btw) which is 76%. 300 points is 0% while 900 is 100%. That means that you should have gotten 756 points rather than 870 like medentry shows. Do they mark differently to the ucat?
the UCAT does not give scores based on percentage marks. It gives scores based on your percentile ranking within the cohort. 900 means you scored better than all the other participants. If you score 99th percentile, you're likely to get a score of 870-900
Hey Emil, thanks heaps for this series! Was just wondering if MedEntry ahs updated their questions? This is because the consensus last year was that QR/AR were unreasonably hard , however, these subtests seem much more reasonable?
@@EmilEddy hey Emil, I'm sorry I already asked this question on one of your other previous videos, but I've noticed that the Medify passages for VR are extremely long, and you said that the questions on MedEntry are very similar to the UCAT's questions, so from your experience, have you found that Medify's VR questions are harder than the actual UCAT or around the same?
Hey Emil, thanks for this video, I jus have a quick question regarding this vr section. I know the scores are calculated between a range of 300-900, so how many questions roughly do I need to get right out of the 44 to get a score of 550 ish usually? This would be much helpful with my practice :)
That means the mock you did on medify is easier. If 38/50 was 90th percentile out of the people who sat that medify test, then it would be 750. Since 38/50 was 99th percentile on the mock I did, the score is 870. Raw scores do not convert to anything in the UCAT!
@@juaan_ on their test, raw scores will certainly convert to a scaled score. They can do this because they have an idea of how well people will do on their test. They don't change the difficulty much from year to year, so they would have a formula to convert raw scores to scaled scores
Hey emil. Great video, but how did you get a score of 870 when you got 38/50? I was looking at the conversion table for UCAT scores and it puts you at a score of 780?
