I just found your channel and I'm so glad you made this video! Being diagnosed last year at 18 was really validating after having symptoms brushed off. (Literally had a physician tell me "women's bodies are complicated" when i told her about some alarming symptoms i was experiencing) and now I'm just trying to learn everything i can to manage this condition. ❤ i appreciate you sharing your knowledge

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 22. (begrudgingly ( he said I had symptoms of PCOS. But because my blood test didn't come back with high testosterone I didn't have it)) It then took me 6 years before I could find a provider that would listen to me and not just say "lose weight." Now my partner and I are trying, and I don't have periods unless they are medically induced, and I just got tild that I needed to be tested for cancer because I'm at a higher risk! I wish my providers would have sat down with me and told me everything you just said. I found out some with one provider, but most of what I learned I had to teach myself. Thank you for the education we deserve and need!

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2017 and was told by my gynecologist at the time that I was a mild case…. Several years later, my primary doctor suggested otherwise. Thanks for the information, it’s very helpful!

I was diagnosed at age 18 with pcos and have 2 letrozole babies and pregnant with my third letrozole baby! It has worked great for me. My issue was egg quality, even after I lost a bunch of weight and ovulated on my own. I saw an RE to get pregnant all 3 times ❤ there’s hope!

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20 and the doctor told me I would never have children. When I met my husband 2 year later I made sure he was aware of that. Thankfully, after 8 years we were able to conceive naturally. It's not "easy", but it's certainly not impossible!

I have pcos I was diagnosed at 16 via ultrasound there were over 20 cyst on my left ovary and over 12 on my right. I haven’t ovulated or had a period without medication since i was 15 (I’m 20) It’s weird tho bc I don’t show any signs of insulin resistance in lab work, my testosterone is normal, I don’t have issues with acne , hair growth, or loss, i don’t have issues with weight gain or loss, my thyroid tests are normal, I was underweight-normal weight when i was diagnosed at 16 i gained a significant amount of weight during ED recovery for 2yrs (17-19) lost over 60% of the weight i gained during ED recovery naturally in 8 months (19-20) i have yet to ovulate or get a period & i’m beginning to think something else is wrong because i don’t have any of the other symptoms but I haven’t ovulated in years I’ve been on metformin despite not having an insulin resistance because my dr. said that’s what she starts everyone on and many months later still no ovulation or period so I was told I’d likely need farther medical intervention to conceive. I just wish I knew why I have no other issues with pcos but the absence of ovulation& periods. 😪

I was diagnosed with PCOS 40 years ago. I was told back then that I would never be able to get pregnant, and since watching your videos, I’m so happy to find out that pregnancy is possible. For me, my periods were horrible! I never knew when , or where I would be, for my period. I’ve had a period for a year and missed my period for six months. The treatment offered now was not provided or explained when I was first diagnosed. Thank you for sharing this information.

Thank you so much for this video. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2002 (which seems like an insane number of years ago). While I had good results from medications I was on for roughly a decade, I still learned things in this video that I wish I'd known way back when (or had been explained to me as clearly as you did here), and this was a great reminder that a little bit of realistic diet fine-tuning and realistic, consistent exercising can make a big difference. Thanks again!

I just wish there was a way to test fertility/ ability to get pregnant. Ever since being diagnosed I’ve been OBSESSED with infertility and fear of never having kids. Nobody seems to understand, I’m in no way ready for a baby and don’t intend to have one anytime soon. Just annoys me how you can only find out if you can get pregnant is by getting pregnant.

Thank you!!!! I was diagnosed with PCOS in my earlier teen years. Now in my 30’s more recently, I had a period that lasted 6 weeks, with heavy bleeding, the most painful exhausting one thus far. I also feel that it is talked enough how PCOS effects your moods, I can either feel really good or feel really depressed, and being on the birth control made my emotions even worse, I’ve tried metformin and it just didn’t sit well with me. I haven’t found what works for me yet, but I hope I do soon! Thank you Dr. Ali for this breakdown :)

I HAVE PCOS BUT IM ON MY Period, almost all the time. I tired different birth controls none really worked. just made it painful and even more heavy. The only one that worked a little bit was the one that was the In plant in my arm, But it caused me to be out of breath when the wind hit me and cough. And I spotted for a whole year so I decided to take it out. Still till this day haven't really figured out what is best. When I was a teenager it was painful and not as irregular. It was really heavy. Now i'm on it most of the time with no pain at all. Every once in a while it is painful.

I have extreme depression and anxiety. I also have dry skin and need extreme therapy for my skin. I have really bad inflammation. Sadly my dr just pawns me off on other people

I was diagnosed with PCos in 2016. The doctor ran tests and I got results over the phone and she sent me on my way. No one has ever explained pcos to me. This video was soooooo helpful. You touched on everything. Everything makes more sense. I wasn’t able to get pregnant. I found an OB that would help me. After four years of trying, I got pregnant right away thanks to that doctor. I am now pregnant with baby number two! I had 3 doctors, including a reproductive endocrinologist who wouldn’t help me get pregnant because of my weight and diagnosis. So thankful I gave it one last shot and it worked!

Great informative video, thank you. I think I might have PCOS, i had the implant for 12 years and my period never came while I had it on. Then I got married and hubby wanted a kid. I already had 2 older ones. Went to my obgyn bc my period still didn’t come after a year without birth control and she just gave me pills to get my period going, nothing happened, i kept coming every month and she just increased the dose. never did blood work or an ultrasound, just kept me coming every month for 6 months until I gave up because it looked like i was just paying to be seen for 5 minutes by the Dr and nothing was done or achieved.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 12. I was sent to an endocrinologist (I think that’s what they’re called) who told me to go on a Mediterranean diet, and that’s it. Which was not logical me being so young. We honestly just kind of forgot about it.
I’m not really sure what got me back to seeing doctors for this.
I had a physical exam, I told him I had PCOS and he was like why has no one put you on Metphormen.
My mom found a women’s clinic 2 hours from where I live. The doctor explained things extremely well, she drew me the same picture. She has PCOS as well.
They did an ultrasound to check the lining.
I’m supposed to have a surgery to remove the lining.
I am extremely scared of needles and drugs and all that. So I’m am very nervous about this procedure even though it’s low key.
I was basically wondering if there are any other treatments that don’t require a surgery or anything. Or if it’s even something to worry about.
I’m now 17. I wasn’t necessarily told I couldn’t have kids just that it was unlikely. Which broke my heart. Having children is very important to me and you have really reassured me of my future.

Can you talk about how IUDs are used for PCOS? I just got a Mirena IUD inserted for a very recent diagnosis of PCOS. And I am still confused about how it works.. (also I have no intentions having children).
I’m also still confused about the hormones in this IUD work differently than a pill contraceptive.. I’ve always been very resistant to going on the pill because of the changes in hormones (I was previously on the copper IUD)

I just found your channel and it’s giving me hope that I may be able to have child one day. I was diagnosed around 4 years ago with a septate uterus and endometriosis and my doctors told me that I would have little to no possibility of having a viable pregnancy. Is that true or do I have hope?

I have PCOS and my only symptoms was cystic ovaries. I went in because my left ovary was in a lot of pain. I could feel "everything". Surprisingly I got pregnant pretty fast and am 12w. I've started noticing the bigger my baby gets the more it seems to be moving that ovary and it's sensitive. On bc the pain went away once the cysts did. A little stressful, but its ok.
