Took a nice little break and a great vacation - the SSK003 was on my wrist the entire time. Feeling rejuvinated and ready to get back to making content! Have some exciting stuff prepared, stay tuned for more. What do you think about the Seiko 5 GMTs?
Could you make a review about the Steinhart GMT watches? They are super well-made for the price, swiss movements with 28,000 VPH and have a 300m water resistance rating
When I was Army, and traveling a whole lot, a GMT would have come in pretty handy (but at the time I was more of a chronometer guy) Now that I don't travel as much a GMT seems impractical. However, I do like this Seiko. I came in late to the "collection" game and missed out on the SKX (not gonna buy one on the secondary though). Really bummed about that because it seems every watch collector loves the SKX. 😢
That's just how the watch game goes, good watches come and go. I joined the hobby too late to get a Seiko alpinist with the Ginza dial. But new watches are always coming out so you never know when the next SKX is gonna be released.
Very nice video, thanks! I love GMT watches, and I heard a lot about the new Seiko. The hands are a bit stubby for such a large watch, but it's very nice. I wish I could have seen a bit more of turning the bezel - I was surprised you said it was a friction bezel with no click stops. So that means you have to align the hour yourself, correct?
Thanks Frank. Hm, interesting point on the hands. Think they're so similar, if not identical, to that of the SKX that I've had for years that I didn't notice. You are correct, the bezel has no click stops. The feel is nice and smooth but I did notice in my use the bezel would get pushed out of place throughout the day, which is frustrating.
To play devil’s advocate, the Swiss Made, smoother highbeat (28.8k) movement, Glycine GMT are available online in the same price range (even lower for careful shoppers). They are thinner (11mm) and also available in a variety of colors and in steel or bronze cases and 200m WR with a sapphire crystal and a screwdown crown. 7 strikes and you’re out.
This watch is a cheat code. I have the Blueberry. Perfect for international travel. Won't get you killed, and it you lose it, you can just buy another one.

Just purchased this watch this past Friday and I’m loving it . I own the SKX009 as well. It’s cool having both the old school and this new SSK003 👍🏻
Just got the green one yesterday!!! Absolutely Beautiful Watch ❤
Picked up the SSK021J-8 today and absolutely love the watch!!
I just received my ssk003 today. I absolutely love it!
Beautiful 2 say the least! This is my first automatic hand wind watch ⌚️ and I love it
Wow, you sure picked a good one to start off on. Enjoy.
Went to grab one today for a present for a buddy of mine and ended up getting one as well. May the watch addiction begin.
GMT movement, new and improved jubilee bracelet, hardlex on bezel and applied indices. This makes me want to run to my seiko AD.
Hey @ChronometerCheck great video! Wanted to know how the hardlex crystal is holding on both of them?

You're good man. The SKX is nothing special you'd be better off with a seiko turtle or a samurai and it's even cheaper than the SKX on the secondary
Just scored the SSK001 black dial for 300. I'm pretty stoked about it.
Just bought a 003!
#Twinning. Let me know how you like it!
Very nice video, thanks!

I’m interested. I’m not digging the cyclops, but that can always be changed. Great vid
Thank you. Indeed, a cyclops can be removed with just a lighter and a bit of patience.
You remove cyclops!

Wasn't aware of this - sounds like an absolutely awesome value. 11mm for a GMT is impressive! Plus all of the other features you've mentioned.
Show us.
Don't see any in the same price range
Glycine equivalents (Airman) are 4 to 5 or even more times the price of the Seiko. They are not in the same price range.
Also owned by Invicta
I jusr ordered my SSK001 although i have a SRPD
This watch is a cheat code.

Absolutely love my 001. Unbeatable for the price. Microbrands will be rubbing their hands. Nice review.
We have a Miyota 9075 GMT in the works for late Fall 👀
@@JackMasonbrand the release of the 5 GMT's was bound to trigger a reaction. I will look forward to seeing the Citizen GMT.
@@JackMasonbrand Assuming the movement goes into a Citizen that is.
Thanks Alex, indeed they will. Enjoy your 001 - was going back and forth between the two myself.
Looking forward to it.
This or the Tissot seastar 1000 quartz chronograph???
Imo, the Tissot Seastar 1000 chrono is too big. Whereas this is a bit more wearable. So I'd say go with this one.
Imo this is a whole lot more watch for what you pay. But both are great.
Can't decide to buy this one or the dark manta king turtle
Turtle unless you need the GMT
What strap is on you 5KX?
Can’t decide between this and the prx lol
Hard choice. Would a GMT complication be useful for you?
@@ChronometerCheck nope
This one or alpinest which one better ?
I own both and they both great.
Haw mach because i like the midel one
