I have been editing in Davinci resolve studio for over 2 years now and I've never touched a lot of effects that you covered in this video cause I had no idea how to use them. After watching this video I can think of a million ways I would have used those effects in my previous projects to make my work easier! Thanks for yet another great video!
As a complete noob, twice now while watching this video I started daydreaming imagining you editing while showing us how to edit and how long this must have taken you, while I'm not retaining any of it. Crazy how much effort you put in to this, great work and thank you. I'll have to save this to a playlist for quick reference :).
What I love about your videos is not only do you show off this stuff, but you consistently demonstrate your knowledge (as well as how useful the subject of the video are) by using the same effects *in* the video itself. And also you know the tips are great.
I watch a LOT of videos about Resolve- This is easily in the top 5 of all time. VERY well done- no BS- no links for paid anything...NICE. Thank you- SUBSCRIBED...will be digging into your channel. Thank you sir
Alex, this was was an outrageously informative blast of effects and power of visuals and audio. Thanks for exhausting yourself in such a short period of time . . . Even if you did a little bit of editing. You make it so "Easy Peasy"!
Alex, a really useful video thank you. Extremely helpful when you illustrate how these effects can be used. If you’re going NAB, i’ll buy you more than a coffee mate. There’s lots of good content on RUclips but you and Darren have a way of just simplifying things for us Muppets.
Man, this is so fun. You're basically assuring me that I not only will be ok with out an Adobe Cloud subscription, I'm gonna have much more fun along the way.
This is a basic vid and bloody epic, ive just started my youtube and editing story and this is giving me a massive yet simple roadmap of the powers i have in my hand now (mwahahahaha!) all seriousness wicked vid boss, cant wait to have a crack at these
Making this video must have been a mission 👏🏽 Thanks for introducing me to Push! Adding a Push to both ends of a clip or text, and then making them meet in the middle is a great way to have something scroll across the screen easily 👍👍
This video is incredible. Wonderful information, thanks for investing the time. I can only consume 1 or 2 chapters at a time. I'm going to keep this one as a reference for the future as well.
Really useful bro, I appreciate💯👍. We often try to find sth cool and vivid but we still even don't know all about our tools, hope to see more basic but useful like this.
i really hope you see this, i was trying to edit my first video, and i found your channel, after watching a bunch of your videos and doing what i learned, i feel like im almost a professional editor xDD thank you so much for your videos, you're just amazing!
YFor me your video tend to be long but your pacing is great. You go directly to the point Thats why I like them you and batal make great instructive videos. Others also but they mostly drag on. thank you
*slaps forehead* -Thanks for the link Alex, turns out I’ve watched it before and then completely forgotten about the stacked timeline feature *jeez* - that’s what happens when youtube and editing is just a leisure time hobby activity :/ thanks for reminding me about it, now it’s back to trying to figure out if the cut page aligns with how my brain works or if I need to re-jig the way I film stuff for an easier editing experience :)
Whoa, I think I'm going to have to sit down and watch this in several sessions. Lots of good stuff in here, and it's nice to be introduced to and reminded of what's available. I just didn't expect to see so many things I didn't know about all at once...and then I was only 25% done with the video! #informationoverload 😅
Hi Alex, Thankyou so much for teaching Resolve in the most easy way on the internet. I just 2 queries if you could help: 1. Is there any way to create presets in Resolve?? I use "Camera Shake" & "Drop Shadow" effects a lot but everytime I have to tweak settings for each graphic of the video. Copy and paste attributes works but doing it everytime I open Resolve is a long time pain for me. Isn't there easy way (without fusion) to create drag and drop presets in this (which premiere pro does offer) 2. Also, any easy way to apply same transition to multiple videos?? I select multiple files and drag and drop the transition but It applies only to one clip. Then I have to drop it to each clip one by one. Such a painful experience. Is there any easy way for doing so?? Thankyou in advance. ♥️🙏
You can save effects back into the effect library with some messing. I've done a video on that in the past. Alternatively, do the effect on an adjustment clip and then save the adjustment clip into a power bin. For q2 yeah you sure can. Highlight the edit points on the timeline, then right click the transition within the effects library. There's an option to apply to selected.

Great one to be saved for ideas later 👍🏼
