A North Carolina resident who was a huge fan of Mr. San Diego, the greatest hitter since Ted Williams, the GREAT Tony Gwynn. I got to see Tony get several of his 3,000 career hits. I also got to see fellow immortal Rickey Henderson do likewise. I also saw both men make spectacular running catches in the outfield in the same game. I witnessed a titanic blast by Mark McGwire into the stands in left and another huge shot by Barry Bonds. That one hit the scoreboard and left the fans in awe. I never got to see the Chargers play because I was never there during the NFL season. I remember my wife’s parents telling me about this kid who played football for the San Diego State Aztecs. Some guy named Marshall Faulk. Oh yes, one more thing. I got to see Trevor Hoffman enter a game to AC/DC’s “Hells Bells” and save yet another game for the Padres. I have some wonderful memories of Jack Murphy Stadium. I will miss it.
San Diego Stadium history did not start with Steve Garvey / Tony Gwynn / Bobby Ross - It started with John Hadl, Lance Alworth, The ghost, little Dickie Post, Downtown Ollie Brown, Nate Colbert, Enzo Hernandez, The kid etc.
If the measure to build a new stadium had passed, The Murph would have been demolished regardless. What is it with boomers pathetically clinging to their past? It was a great stadium that became a shithole. It is time for something new. Thanks for the memories. Bring on the future.
I am definitely going to miss the stadium had a lot of wonderful memories of that place. I'll never forget that it's part of San Diego's history no fancy new stadium is going to change that
The Holiday bowl was the last football game played there. correct? If so I was there for the first.. and I was there for the last :) Thanks for the memories old girl
My family and I always went to that Stadium for Gatherings sometimes baseball games. I have a lot of memories of that place and it broke my heart to see it reduced to Rubble. Rest in peace Qualcomm Stadium and thank you for a lifetime of memories
I’m a FedEx driver. Used to deliver there to companies who who were left in the stadium. Alway hurt me walking in because I would remember my dad taking me to padres games there and remembering all the charger games I went. Sad to see it gone. I always think that’s the house that tony Gwynn and junior seau built. Gave up championships to stay in San Diego on their choice.
Yeah that's right lifelong season tix holder fir chargers , 3red generation here, grandparents were since 63 then my parents then me n siblings n my kids- the memories are too many to remember at one time, ILL NEVER GET OVER THIS N JUST ORAY THEY CAN MOVE TO PETCO N COME BACK TO SANDY!
Some of these fans at ceratain games were total losers. The Chargers were cursed during most of their time in San Diego, maybe it was becuase so many of the fans were like those portrayed in this video..? Something to Ponder.

Pure hatred for the entire Spanos family.

But nice assumption there, Dick.

My stepmom towed Faulks car as manager of College Park Apartments. My biggest Faulk memory off the field.
Broken hearted 💔

Thank you John
When Spanos uprooted the Chargers, I was done with the NFL. Haven't watched a single game since.
I’m close too turning in my die hard Charger fan card as well….I’ve hung in there though.
The new stadium looks like a big Texas high school stadium. Guess it doesn't matter if it will never have people in it.
The memories too numerous to name? Lol
