    I started collecting in 1968. My father was a Sgt. in a US Army combat engineer battalion. D Day, Battle of the bulge , Luxembourg, Germany, Austria. I still have a NSKK pin that he brought home. He did have a luger but another GI stole it from him .Your english is excellent. My grandfather on my mothers side was from Russia.

      I think it would be nice if the Germans could openly buy stuff back , but basically you lose a war people get to take home your weapons thats always happened . i have German weapons that my family took as war trophy's . I wouldn't be annoyed at Germans having British weapons they captured

    • @happydayt.8687
      @happydayt.8687 3 года назад

      The Germans started the war. That's true! But still I think it's a shame that these items are now in a country where most collectors treat them as if it were something where there was nothing bad behind them! Also bothers me if any American collectors think they must have, for example, 25 Hj daggers! It's enough if you only have 4, for example. In Germany, people are satisfied with you and deal with the topic critically and don't pose around with it!

    • @happydayt.8687
      @happydayt.8687 3 года назад

      @@bearsagainstevil A distinction must also be made between captured firearms and trophies such as flags or daggers. If you capture firearms and keep using them in war, I think that's fine. But if you take such trophies with you, that's outrageous in my opinion! My teacher was simply stolen from his grandfather's dagger from the Air Force apartment and the top hat he wore at the wedding from my great-grandfather and those were all Americans and I hate the Americans who did this to my ancestors and those who did this to my teacher up to now today!

    • @NickFortier
