Congrats, Zach. So glad you read them all. I’m 60 yo and read many of these as they came out. Trust me, they are books that will come back to you as you go through the years. You will read them again and your opinions will continue to change. But way to go, proud of you for reading them all and your enthusiasm to share your thoughts. Keep it up!!!
My first read through the series had me feeling similar, but after multiple re-reads, I am at a point where my ratings have flipped around a lot and Heretics might be my favourite of the series LOL It's like each book tries to come up with new ways to challenge the reader just after they got used to what the previous book was like.
Fascinating to get a young person's perspective on the series. I read the first trilogy back in the 1970s and am pleased the stories continue to resonate with younger readers. I enjoyed the video and will check out more of your work. I'd like to recommend a book for you to try. A CANTICLE FOR LEIBOWITZ by Walter Miller.
awesome video! I’ve only read the first book and probably won’t continue the series but this helped me understand what would happen next in simple terms. Thank you!! :))
Pronunciation varies a bit from who is portraying, i.e. “Dune 1984” had a bit different pronunciation then say the Sci Fi Channel’s made for TV series “Frank Herberts Children of Dune.” I laughed a bit when you correctly pronounce the hardest proper names, the Tleilaxu & Bene Gesserit, but not the rest. Harkonen: Har-Ko-Nen, or in some case, Har-Ka-Nen. Ghola: Go-lah. Fun fact the word Ghola is a derivative of the Hebrew word for a clone like being “Golem” in the bible. Ghanima: Ga-Ni-Ma. Leto: Lee-toe or Lay-toe, just depending on your preferred accent. Same as the actor Jered Leto. Alia: All-ee-ah. Darwi Odrade: Probebly pronounced Ohd-Ra-De Any who, love your work. Keep it up. 😀
It gets very weird indeed but it's all a masterpiece in science fiction. Hope you reply at some point Zach. I've been watching you for a while now and love to talk books with people.
I almost always stop reading st God Emperor. It ties up all loose ends, achieves all the aims of Leto, ensures the perpetual survival of humanity. Done. Period. End of story. The rest of the books introduce entirely new characters and problems, none of which are as compelling as the first arc.
yes i mispronounced most of the names in this book 😭 hope it was still enjoyable tho

wait this is goated keep it up ❤️
I agree with God Emperor being 2nd. The 2000 and 2003 miniseries are the best adaptations so far.
Nah the last two books are awesome.

Children of Dune was so confusing but I understood it, God Emperor...
Nice video man.
It’s not revert back; it’s revert
Very good review of the series. I like the series overall yet also disliked some of the choices herbert wrote.
W take on God Emperor, I've always said it was second best
Red rising series next!
