    The Ledger Nano X Bluetooth capability, 100+ app storage space, and and solid coin support makes it a worthy successor to the Ledger Nano S hardware wallet. Ledger Nano X vs S is a hot topic, and the Nano X is a clear winner between the two with a better user experience and fewer issues.

    Remove the metal cover, compress it with your fingers and place it again on your ledger. It will fit tighter and stop flopping around. That was the 1st thing I did on my Nano X when I unboxed it!

    Your comment about using your existing Nano S as a backup device is pure gold. People, one HD wallet is not enough>>> Backups for backups. Build redundancy into your infrastructure to better protect yourself against loss, theft damage etc.
    I really appreciate this video, there is no were near enough discussion about protecting your private keys. There is no substitution for HD wallets.
    Curious to know your thoughts on the Trezor HD wallets. Keep up the great work, "knowing is half the battle."

    To be fair, the setup process with the password phrase feels like a video game tutorial to get the user comfortable with using the Nano X, it might be a simple logic of left, right, and double press but it sticks pretty well after the setup.

    Hashoshi, great video. I've used both the Nano S and Nano X for over a year now. Initially, the Nano X was a huge improvement over the Nano S in terms of functionality. However, the user interface updates Ledger has incorporated on Ledger Live for the Nano S have significantly improved the user experience. My take? If you only are holding a few different types of tokens (less than 10), the Nano S will likely be sufficient. If you're trying to store multiple different tokens on a single device, the Nano X will be a big time saver and is probably worth the extra cost.

    Great vid!👍
    A few comments, you can fix the floppy folding metal cover by simply pulling it off (yes it just lifts off) then press the metal cover together so that you bend it slightly, so that when you put it back on it sits much tighter and doesn't flop about.
    Lastly the whole Bluetooth attack vector is really a moot point. Why? Because the device needs to be on to be visible. This is NOT an always on device, and realistically the only time you are powering the thing on is when making a transaction, otherwise it is off. That's just the reality of it and nay sayers need to calm down. Lastly you also need to PHYSICALLY unlock the device and PHYSICALLY interact with it. So really the "wireless attack vector" cannot be accomplished without physically accessing it anyway, in which case, cable or no cable is no different.
    This is a solid device and I love mine!

    • @Hashoshi4
      @Hashoshi4  4 года назад +4

      Joe, thanks for this comment! I will try that with the metal cover. Great tip.
      In terms of Bluetooth, I agree with you. My point in the video was that of the physical interaction requirements and the fact that the real key material that you're trying to protect never gets transmitted regardless. I agree that it's overblown.
      Glad you love yours! cheers, thanks for watching

    Well its 1 year later to date since your vid and I got mine 3 days ago. The metal cover seems to be holding quite firm for now. However the battery is not charging, it remains at 0% . For me, the peace of mind alone will forever be enough to warrant the price, I kinda trusted wallets like Exodus but a part of me was constantly worrying about security. Hi there, what is your take on Ledger Nano X Hardware Wallet, my concern with it is, of what use is it if the Ledger Live platform is removed from the system at anytime, how do you then access your bitcoins, because the hardware wallet itself acts as a Safe to store your pincode that gives you access to the Ledger Live Platform where you can see your balance and transact if you need to. I may be short sighted and hope not, but it seems to me, there is no difference in using your phone to interact with a Software platform or Exchange and even adding Google Authenticator for further security. Please Help, I would love to get your opinion on it.

    I just purchased a nano x. I found set up etc and transfer easy. My problem is that once i unplugged the device, I realized I can still send crypto from my nano app on my desktop to another account. This is ridiculous, i may aswell just left my crypto in my private coinbase wallet. I thought i was buying a hard storage device, witch it appears not to be. I can throw the device away, and just open the app on my computer and access my crypto. WTF, am i missing something?

      So you're saying the nano app holds your private key too and it can sign transactions with the physical hardware wallet disconnected and turned off?
      Did you find a solution? What was the problem?

    Great Video, thanks. However, I believe that the elephant in the room should be...the battery life. How long (as in months or years) does the battery last and what happens to your Crypto after it is gone? Can I simply replace the battery or do I have to buy another NanoX?

    • @tedtenny
      @tedtenny 3 года назад +1

      I thought the same as you when I went to the website. I found that the battery is good for 5 years. Even though the NanoS has no battery I believe it obtains its power when connected to a computer. I believe the NanoX could operate the same way after 5 years. Can someone please confirm this please?

      You don't shift bitcoin, it's always on the block chain. What you do shift is your private key onto a keyring/s of your choice. You don't need a hardware keyring, mobile one is plenty enough for most people and they are free. Write down your seed and delete the "wallet". You can restore them any time.

    How safe are the X's? No tamper proof holograms upon purchase? Would you order them off Amazon's sponsored page with the companies hyperlink attached?

    • @Hashoshi4
      @Hashoshi4  4 года назад +3

      I would only order from Ledger direct unless they recommend Amazon directly (like SafePal does). The Nano X is a secure wallet and has a secure element, if you're worried about tampering I recommend creating a seed, then wiping the wallet, then creating a new one again to stop pre-boot attacks

    How many tokens or coins can you hold at once per coin app? I don’t mean the supported apps, if I have 4500 XRP for example can the ledger nano x support that much of xrp at once? Or more? And if it does can I also add another 1,000 of Bitcoin as well for example? I keep seeing videos about reviews but nobody ever answers that question.

      You can use 1 but will need to set it up as new device and get 2 x 24 word seed. Its a Hassle fór trading because you Always need to reset to thé seed you need. But for hodling its no problém. You can generate as many seeds you want.

    So guys I got a question. What the easiest way to get pull money off my Ledger nano X when I have it in xrp and link. Where do I send it to convert it to money I can spend and what’s the cheapest way, seems like I have to get charged fees here and there to get my money... what’s the best way ?

    • @Hashoshi4
      @Hashoshi4  4 года назад

      Hey Wade - my recommendation would be to move to an exchange service that offers the best fees and spreads and stick with that. The fees you’ll pay on blockchains are lower than those you’d pay to convert and withdraw so that part is worth it. To keep your privacy in mind, KYC on ONE exchange you like and then use that exclusively. It limits the # of parties who have your personal info and makes things less complicated. Kraken is becoming more appealing lately, and if you are mindful of the spread, Uphold is underrated for withdrawals to fiat. At the end of the day you can’t avoid ALL fees, but the menial ones you pay to move your crypto from wallet to wallet is worth the extra layer of security :)
      Cheers! Hope this helps. Thanks
