    I've been feeling the same way about Seiko ever since they hiked their prices without offering Sapphires and fixing their QC issues. This one looks awesome! Def on my radar! Thanks Rob.

    I've had the white version, sne545p1, for a year and I love it so much. Lightweight, comfortable strap, and just a very cool unique look. Also the lume is the best - I was still able to read the time after 9 hours without light. Solar quartz is fantastic too... just a great value.

    Love that red/orange second hand, and the excellent location of the date window. The overall size is great.

    I feel the same about watch band lengths. I hate a tight band, or even worse, a band that won’t reach! And even if they “fit” the little tail left on the band will barely reach the keeper, popping out from time to time. Very aggravating when they don’t fit right. I will thank you every time you give me the length of the band!!! Great video as always Rob!!! See you in the next one!

    I've seen the white on in person and that ones pretty cool too. Not sure if I want a watch that loud though. Reaaly thinking about getting this and a safArnie though. This in green and a tan SafArnie? Hmm. I like the SafArnie in green too though.....Ack like anything i'll probably go for the best deal I can get.

    allthough the size is much bigger than the skx it looks like optically it wears smaller.. maybe due to the dial size.. is the dial size smaller than on the skx if the tuna has 40mm bezeldiameter and the skx around 41 to 42mm bezeldiameter?

  • @jimgd4
    @jimgd4 4 года назад +1

    I see this as an unfortunate release. The Tuna, along with the Alpinist, have represented uncompromising tool watches in Seiko's line-up. The fact that this "Tuna" is not even ISO certifiable, using a bezel without painted markings, does a disservice to the brand, and the heritage of the Tuna line.

    • @caomhan84
      @caomhan84 4 года назад +4

      Silly comment. It has plenty of lume, it has 200m water resist, and the "big Tuna" watches haven't gone anywhere. And if you're going diving, I'm sure you own a dive watch or 10. And Seiko has plenty in its stable if you don't. This is cool, functional, crazy legible, comfy...and in 6 months will be less than $300 street price. It's a smart release.

    • @RebelRobot01
      @RebelRobot01 4 года назад +1

      @@caomhan84 And also if it says "Diver's 200m" (as this one does), doesn't it mean that it is ISO-certified?

    • @caomhan84
      @caomhan84 4 года назад

      @@RebelRobot01 no. ISO certification for dive watches involves a whole bunch of stuff beyond the water resistance. Shock resistance, temperature changes, they test the strength of the spring bars, all sorts of stuff. But basically it doesn't even have to be 200m to be ISO certified. It can be 100m. Seiko have had dive computers marked "Marinemaster" that only have 100m ratings. The point is it really doesn't matter, which is why I always sigh when people talk about this. As if a watch is somehow "lesser" If it doesn't have that rating. When we know that 99.9% of Seiko watch enthusiasts do little more than where their ISO 6425 diver in the shower or the pool. Both of which this watch can handle easily.

      A new tuna that looks great. Seiko, please offer these with an optional sapphire crystal and then add a S to the end of the model number. It's worth an additional $50

    • @rosspfeffer5185
      @rosspfeffer5185 2 года назад

      @@23727bgk Sapphire doesn’t scratch as easily for sure. But unless it has really good AR, they are so reflective and would probably be a bit more expensive again? I think Seiko put some AR on their Hardlex, which I find has less glare with good legibility. Just my 2 cents.😃

    great video! Any chance you will ever review citizen watches? Their eco drive is a great tech and their watches bang way above the price point. From their chronograph quartz pieces to the promaster diver to their dress watches, they compete with seiko every step of the way. I have been a fan of this page for years and noticed you clearly stay away from citizen.. any reason?

    • @roadgent7921
      @roadgent7921 3 года назад +1

      @@kini5000 The second hand jumps about 10 seconds in hack mode, but not every time which suggest a gear mesh problem. The bezel is out of alignment and the second hand/chapter ring is out of alignment. Time keeping is 10 sec/mth which is about double the quartz average of 5 secs in my experience. Unfortunately I own 2 other Seikos with the same solar movement and they have problems as well so it isnt a one off, again in my experience. Thanks for asking.
