I have had the white version for about a few months now, and it does wear and look amazing. I've swapped out the shroud and strap a couple of times. I feel more street now than ever before!
I have an SNE518 Tuna (slightly modded with a blue steel shroud and an Uncke Seiko Irezumi strap) and I absolutely love it. I am astonished at how well a watch, that looks so big on paper, actually wears on wrist. That short lug-to-lug really does make a difference. It's a great summer watch (so I really enjoy wearing it for 3 days a year here in Wales).
Fantastic video! The self-aware humor is street AF. So, aesthetically, I think I’m showing my age when I say that I struggle with the resin shroud around an analog watch. For me, digital can go metal, but analogs can’t go plastic. I can’t even imagine Swatch anymore...
I bought the green version of this watch back when this channel highlighted that black/gold Tuna (which isn't really to my taste). The look is so cool, and the way the second hand activates visually in daylight is sublime.
My wife got me the SNE543 for Christmas last year and its been great. Sometimes its nice to have a Solar that is always running compared to the endless automatics I always need to set.
There are smaller Tunas available as well, there's a no date solar version which is 38mm I believe. At some point one will find its way into my collection. 😂
The white one would look even better if one swapped the white shroud for aftermarket stainless steel and swapped the white strap for black (or a different color). Come to think of it, I might actually buy one and do it. As always, great review! I look forward to the next one!
Got the green one for my birthday when it first came out and I was under the impression that it was a sapphire crystal. But my only issue with the watch was that the seconds hand doesn't hit the markers for a portion of the dial. Did the watch you reviewed hit ok, or is that just a dumb expectation for quartz movements?

I own a Baby Tuna (SRP233), It's ridiculous how tough and durable these shrouds are. Would love it if you ever cover those limited edition Baby Tunas someday 😀
Worth it JUST for the shirt. 😍 I've got the SNE499. I wear it very comfortably on my little 6-1/2" wrist. Happen to be wearing it today in fact. And no street cred required.
STBR033 Freemans LE (Tuna/Solar) owner here and I love it. Wearable on a sub 7 inch wrist - unlike the larger tunas. Accurate as all hell and always ready to go, no matter how long it has been in the box (other than the date might be off). Solar all the things. Can't wait to wear it in the water in Sardinia in July 2022!
I have de SNE545 and at first I love the dial but it was not the look for me with the white band and protective case (I have not the same street style as Jody). However, I decide to remove the protective case and change the straps for a rubber black band with red stitching and now is one of my favorites watches, because the red stitching on the band matches the red on the case and the crown. In addition, now it looks more like a 42mm watch that suits better my 7'' wrist.
Great intro! I have the white version and though I like the silicone strap, I find the keeper does not hold the strap as well as I hoped, it keeps releasing the strap when it rubs against something. I put the watch on a nato and now all is good. This watch is excellent and is very accurate and is one of my favourite daily pick up and wear watches. Thanks Jodie!
I have the SNE541P1 model, which is decidedly less street, thanks to its black shroud/band and silver bezel with black markings. It's a great grab and go watch, but is best in warmer months as it doesn't tuck under a shirt sleeve so well I've found. Street tuna is not something anyone but the most desperate among us should want I reckon.....
I own the SNE543 and it is the ultimate grab’n’go in my collection. Just love the style although my grandchildren can attest to my lack of street cred. It is a pretty unique watch but the simplicity and clarity of the markers, hands, and dial/bezel combination all add up to great functionality for me. Plenty of applause from here as well. Green one is really nice. Way more street and more versatile than white. An all white watch is kind of a statement piece which really limits how many opportunities you can wear it. Also the design of the green and black with the orange is just suuuuper street.

Got myself the white one recently. Most of the time I wear black or stainless steel watches. And this white tuna is just a great talking piece. I always wanted to have a tuna but the steel ones were too traditional. Tunas are odd watches. And this white one is an odd watch in and of itself because of this colourway. So I opted out and don't regret anything. Wears great with all black clothing and white shoes. ;) And also to a more relaxed black suit combo with open shirt. There aren't many white watches besides of Casio/G-Shock. Small edit: I am currently in Sicily and also wore it two times for snorkeling and diving. Solid piece and my diving partner was also impressed by this oddity. ^^
i just got myself the green tuna strap..been quite sometimes i haven't got myself a rubber strap watch..i have to admit it feels much better on the wrist..
Tuna's are my favorite, picked up the SRPG59 this year and really like it, bezel action is perfect and it lines up! Wish I could have given two thumbs up for that intro.
So this is why you got the haircut. The bezel insert is aluminium, and the main reason to remove the shroud is so you can replace it with something aftermarket. Stainless, bronze and anodised aluminium options in multiple colours. I love these solar tunas - they are lightweight and damn near indestructible. At present I have an untouched SNE533 and a 497 with stainless shroud, bezel and a mesh bracelet - it's a poor man's SBBN007.
I am not street enough to wear it yet maybe if I age in a bit more or learn how to skate. Nice Intro the talent is there and you are definitely not shy well done. Another great review.
I definitely prefer mineral / hardlex on a diver’s watch. It’s tougher and less likely to shatter, when I’m living my Navy Seal fantasies in the deep end of the pool 🙂

I have one, it is a great winter, street, rain watch though the Hardlex crystal scratches easily when hit. Least it doesn't shatter. Taking the shroud off and sticking in another strap really does give you a completely different watch, though you probably won't want to go for the ones with the red anodized case if you want to do this, as it probably looks weird. Bought mine on sale for 258 GBP and it is money well spent,

Jody, great review! I just discovered the Tuna street series and picked up the SBDY073/SRPF81, which is even a hair smaller and has a better (I think) date/indicies layout. Really starting to dig the Tuna aesthetic.
Both of them look pretty decent actually. I like the orange second hand, it really pops. Sapphire would be a great addition but it looks like the bezel is sitting a bit above the crystal which seems small anyway. I think ppl are already used to not getting sapphire in this Seiko price range, but the argument about "diving" is totally valid. I favour the blue version but the texturized dial is a big no for me.

Never been a fan of the tun line but i have to say that green looks pretty good.
I put a stainless shroud on my white one along with a Strapcode Endmill bracelet.....really made it less street, but more of a unique Tuna.

Had one for about a year. Very comfy on the wrist and not as bulky and imposing as the size might suggest.
Jody you should check out the Save the Ocean Antarctica Tuna I think, given the colours you would really like it. And the dial is something else!
