I have an earlier version of this. People won't get it until you try on this watch. The crystal is so clear that you think it isn't there. Sometimes I catch myself poking the dial to make sure it didn't fall off. The comfort from the perfect balance of weight is incredible.

@Wendy and Geoff Pattison My point is,if your paying this much for a watch, the company you are buying the watch from, should supply you with these features/they should have satellites all around the world, that provide your watch with dead on accuracy and they shouldn't skimp on premium features/200mm+ water resistance,Sapphire glass, solar and so on/these features should be on every watch that cost $1000+.
I will stay with my beast of a watch witch is just has accurate my bulova sea king I got it for les then a quarter of the price of your citizen but saying that you have got your self a nice watch
Finally Citizen get the appreciation from you they deserve. Details like the artisanal handmade paper worked into the dial is what I love about Japanese watchmaking, subtle nods to Japanese culture that aren't in your face though. But all things considered, a Grand Seiko would give me more tingles.
Ever since seen I saw this video a year ago, I've been mulling over getting one of these Chronomasters. I finally pulled the trigger and ordered one on Black Friday and it arrived today. I got the AQ4100-57L 38 mm blue dial, and it's gorgeous. I love the watch! Thanks for the video, Jody - I would have never considered this watch without seeing it.
"The Japanese finish titanium better than the Swiss finish steel." Honestly, this is the first time I've seen titanium looking good enough for me to be interested. WOW! I am totally with you on the understated perfection for aficionados only.
I received an Oceanus OCW-T600 chronograph, secondhand with some signs of use, and I was honestly surprised at the finishing level on the Titanium. Really impressive!
I’ve got a Citizen Exceed which syncs with clock towers, uses same solar, same duratect titanium, same water resistance, same crystal face, same perpetual calendar, same alignment perfection etc. It only has illumination on the arms, but this really is my go-anywhere watch as it doesn’t have the same price either. It’s run PERFECTLY for the last 12 years and I absolutely adore it.
Quartz watches are awesome and Seiko/Citizen have such a lot of really cool options. Have a GS SBGF021 from mid 2000's. Lumed indices + hands, 200m wr, 36mm, +/- 10s a year and independently adjustable hour hand. Great pickup Jody!
I love it, it's beautiful. I have never understood the 'vanilla' reference to Citizen. To me, an average watch person , they have always been as good as any Seiko, at least in my price range anyway.
I love Citizen but in terms of claiming the market, it can never surpass Seiko 5 in the budget segment. The reason is the availability. Seiko SNX series is available in India on sites at something like MRP+40 or 50$ but the only things that citizen pushes is the quartz ones at the same rate of inflation.
Absolutely gorgeous and I love the accuracy. Titanium is a huge bonus. I have the GS SBGV243 and love it but I can see these Citizens giving it a run for the money! In regard to GS accuracy…I sent mine to GS for a battery replacement. It was still under warranty so it didn’t cost me a dime, not even for shipping. In any event, they also serviced the movement. And…drum roll, it’s now at plus 0.017 seconds per day. That’s plus 6 seconds per year. Pretty cool for a watch that is rated at 10. I’ve read about others getting even better, right out of the box. 🎉🎉🎉
Got the hand dyed indigo blue dial one. I love how it looks so plain, but when the sunlight catches the dial, the washi paper details really pop. There's nothing like it offered by any watchmaker. Also when given compliments by a watch repairman and salesman, you know you got something special.
Blue is a stunner mate! Good choice. I love mine and wear it more than any other watch. So comfortable, and always the right time and date. That is surely the point of a watch eh?
Citizen in my opinion is overlooked far to often by far too many. They have a ton of offerings and build some outstanding watches. I've always loved this watch but have for some reason been nervous to pull the trigger. I love the classic understated, as you said, "if you know, you know" design. I have Rolex, Patek and Omega that were passed down from my father, so I'm always nervous wearing them out and about. Thank you for another honest review and helping me to makeup my mind. :)
I just ordered a AQ4091-56E yesterday 😬. I also own a Gs Sbgv207. I am even more excited now for the Citizen after i've seen your video. Thank you very much for your review!
I had the 37.5mm AQ4020 model for about a year and a half. Truly incredible watches. The smaller models in addition to not having lume also don’t have a screw down crown and are thinner (10.5mm) with a flat crystal. It definitely seems like they try and make the 40mm models more of a GADA type of watch and the smaller watches more dress pieces
For that amount of money, it better be. My sub-$100 Casios are hitting the markers perfectly. I don't know how we got to a point to accept manufacturing sloppiness on expensive watches and actually count as a pro that they are aligned/calibrated properly.
@@zwerko Agree. Casio can do this reliably in much cheaper watches so we should expect nothing less in something anywhere close to this. Honestly, any quartz timepiece over $100 that isn't properly assembled to hit the indices would be a deal-breaker for me.
@@bigwilliearmitage I wouldn't buy even a sub-$100 watch that doesn't hit the indices-to me, that's elementary, like missing to put the hour hand or having the dial upside down. It's unacceptable at any price, and just the fact that we have to list that as a good thing on $1k+ watches tells you how this hobby is horribly broken.
I own a Citizen Titanium Eco Drive dive watch and absolutely love it! It happens to be the watch I am wearing right now. I love the feel and lightness of Titanium. There is nothing more comfortable.
Grand Seiko is, hands down, my favorite watch brand and has been for many years. However, my very first decent mechanical watch was a Citizen. I think it may be time to bring it back around and grab one of these from the The Citizen line. They are absolutely stunning and can't be beat for the price.
I have this exact watch but man sizing the bracelet is super super difficult, and all the local jewlers just basically looked at it and didn't want to bother. The watch otherwise is incredible. Quartz at this high of quality is so rare, and this watch was ultimately, I realized, what I was looking for during my whole journey in watches, the whole time. The only fault is that it's not blue and white at the same time!

@@mattmatt2417 I don't really understand as the watch you listed doesn't keep time to 1 second a year, most are off by a few second everyday. Some needs maintenance every few years as well?
I received a Citizen BN0151-09L Promaster Dive Eco Drive Blue face and Synthetic strap. I was on the fence for one of their Automatic offerings and I can say I am so happy to receive a watch that charges by light. Time is right on, lime is better than some of my more expensive watches. To have a EDC watch that just functions, seems tough and looks great. Citizen is not looked at like Seiko but you get a great made product by a company that has made strides in the watch industry
The one thing that is truly awesome about the Grand Seiko 9F movements over the citizen is that they actually tick twice per second. While you can't see the double tick with the naked eye, the effect it has is making the actual ticking of the seconds hand Uber smooth, so much so that it's as pleasant as looking at the tick of a mechanical watch, at least for me
but the GS you need to change batteries. The citizen is solar powered and more accurate. the value proposition is much better titanium over the GS stainless steel. been there done that. Trust me the citizen is much better!
The reason for 2 impulses/sec : Allows the seconds hand be longer. GS design criteria: sec hand has to reach indices. 2 impulses more effecient such that battery will not be exhausted prematurely.
p.s. GS second hand has a spring attached to it which prevents backlash or “wobble” when it stops. 2 pulse/sec strictly for energy effeciency with longer second hand.
This is truly impressive, and its under the radar character is part of that. It wasn’t called out in the review, but it looks the the hour and minute hands have a “tip of the sword” bevel at the tip. It looks so good!
Evening Jody from the UK. I have now found & ordered this watch! I’m over the moon! Thank you very much for your detailed video. My Omega Seamaster will now be departing from me & this AQ 4030-51a will have a permanent place on my wrist whilst I’m not wearing my beater for work!
Beautiful watch, the AQ4020, a very similar model, may be my next purchase. I currently have a 9F quartz, the SBGP017, and it’s one of the +-5 secs a year like your Citizen, but still no solar charging or perpetual calendar like you have here. I’m really happy both Grand Seiko and Citizen give quartz the respect it deserves!

I've been waiting Sooo patiently for this review Jody and I must say... It's been worth it! I have never been a big fan of Japanese watches and always aimed for Swiss assuming that they were superior... But my, was I mistaken, the Japanese takes things to a whole new level. After pulling the trigger on my Oceanus T200 which I love to bits, this Citizen Chronomaster is going to be my next big purchase.. I've had my eye on it for a while.. love the superb craftsmanship and finish together with the understatedness!
Very impressive. After filling my collection with mostly Divers( which you had reviewed 😄), I am getting more into the GADA category. This is a very top notch prospect. Thanks for the review.
Definitely seems like the ultimate minimal maintenance GADA. This could easily be the only watch you need for someone who doesn't see the need for a collection (not me I like variety too much). I wish it had the Citizen Chicken on the dial to make it more delicious. It seems the best way for Citizen to differentiate between their standard fare and more premium choices is the chicken. Plus they could do a Smokey and the Bandit edition. Citizen is an underrated major brand for sure. Especially if you appreciate all practical multi purpose everyday watches. Still holding out for them to go all out mad scientist and create an Eco-drive Ultra Precisionist (they do own Bulova and best sweeping movement outside of Spring Drive imo) Super Titanium family of watches that are a technical tour de force.
Great video !! I bought my Citizen from an upmarket watch dealer and though I have other watches it is the one always on my wrist ! I love the Titanium and its almost (weight wise) non existent on my wrist It's the 300 meter Royal Marines Commando L.E. The Saphire crystal is the best out of all my watches !! The accuracy is exactly +20 seconds in 6 months which is also my most accurate out of all my branded watches And finally it's the watch that I always get envious remarks like "that's a nice watch" or if they don't verbally say anything, their eyes are focused on my wrist whilst I'm having a conversation! I look forward to your next video !!✌
Great to finally get this one in detail after you teased it awhile back on Insta. Congrats on acquiring a beautiful ‘keeper’ in this Chronomaster, a new addition to several wishlists after watching this no doubt.
That comment you made about it could be seen to be a regular shopping mall citizen resonated with me, I love telling people my Grand Seiko is 'just a Seiko', it's only happened twice, but twice being asked about a watch is classed as 'always happening' in my book ;)
This watch is amazing. It's good to see more precise quartz movements out there. My Longines VHp has been amazing. I think it's gained about 2 sec over the last 2 years, but I'd love it even more if it was solar-powered.
Shane! Lovely watch mate, I looked at the GMT version of the Longines, but wanted titanium. I think when one sees as many watches as we do, quartz becomes more and more appealing. All the best mate.
i thought it would be more you than me mate...but i got to be honest the more i hear and see about this watch the more i think its right up my street.when i used to look at my dads citizens from the 80's they had that applied branding..as did seiko...yeah...this one is nostalgic and futuristic and undertstated all at the same time....nice one Jody!
I am in love with this watch and have been dying for this review! As a stealth item it reminds me of the Mercedes 6.9. Only you know what’s beneath the hood. Thanks for this. Time to get to work on that screenplay!
I own an older Citizen eco drive, I love it. Amazing build quality, understated looks, 200wr, but I forget I'm wearing it! I've never cared about brand name prestige.
While on the topic of Citizen, if you're looking for a budget solar chronograph I would recommend the Citizen CA7030 series. I think there are 4 or 5 colours but the CA7030-97A and the CA7030-97W are my personal favourites.
Thank you so much for this comprehensive review Jody!! This video made me want to buy this watch now!! I like a good looking watch obviously but most importantly an accurate watch!! This Citizen Chronomaster AQ4030-51A in the white dial is an all rounder honestly. You have 95% of what a watch enthusiast is looking for in a watch. 😍😍😍 Keep it up!!
[Edit] Ignore everything after this. I've changed my mind after watching the video again. That's a stunner. My literal only issue with it is that it's a Quartz, and paying that much for a Quartz just isn't my thing. I think I'd get more bang for my buck with something like a Wempe Zeitmeister Classic. (but if Quartz is your thing, that's a stunning watch.
I’ve been checking these out too Jody. I’m leaning more towards the blue with chronomaster on the dial, I’m not a big fan of the chicken logo for some reason. The accuracy just amazes me and the water resistance is more than enough for swimming. I also like the fact it flies under the radar, with top end watch thefts seemingly on the rise I figure it doesn’t pay wearing one (if only I had a Rolex tho!) and I doubt anyone is gonna mug me for a citizen 😂
You'd be surprised! When I was backpacking through South America a number of years ago someone stole my $20 Casio! 😁 If it looks nice, there's always a risk!

@@mattmatt2417 you got just about everything wrong. First off all, high accuracy quartz is accurate to under -/+ 10 seconds a year. Next, this is not a spring drive movement. Next, people who are watch enthusiasts like the watches that are measuring time autonomously. Radio controlled “atomic “ watches are for teenagers. Use your iPhone then, you don’t need a watch. Next, why on earth would one need a watch 44ml or more in diameter. Yes large watches are cheaper to manufacture than small watches but the manufacturing cost difference is negligible. If you are 10 or less years old just ignore what I said. At least you are interested in watches
@@alexmood6407 Comprehension is a problem here. You NEED to re-read what I typed,I'm also not retyping everything, I know this watch doesn't have the Spring Drive movement, but the watch that this watch is mimicking/trying to be/replicating does though and I typed, the only reason the Grand Seiko can keep time as well as it does, is,because the Spring Drive,is regulated by quartz,I also said that the reason this/the watch in the video has the ability to keep somewhat accurate time, is,because its quartz,so obviously I understand the fact that quartz keeps better time than most mechanical clocks/watches, I even stated, that thats the problem with some of these, so called high end watches, they don't reliably keep good time. Im not referring to quartz im referring to mechanical only watches, you know with a coil/cogs,you get it? Also I prefer bigger watches, because the smaller ones look like toys on my wrists,I don't think I have that big of a wrist, but I am muscular/wider in nature, meaning my shoulders are wider than average and my arms are longer, point being is, tiny watches look funny on me,but obviously this is a personal preference/an individual need, everyone is a little bit different, when it comes to the mm of watch that best suites them. Also my whole point is,I think we should hold these companies to higher standards/every watch over $1000 should have water resistance up to 200mm+,it should have Sapphire glass,it should also be made out of Titanium, like I already typed, even if its disguised titanium, meaning they can keep their original designs, but just add that level of quality/durability underneath the design. Also I mentioned, for the price of these watches these watch companies, especially GRAND Seiko/Rolex/Richard Mille/Ulysse Nardin/Piaget/Omega/Brequet/Panerai/Breitling/Hublot/Vacheron Chopard/Patek and so on,should raise the bar and honestly they could afford, for what they are charging, for their name, to have satellites, that automatically wind/automatically set their customers/followers watches, because this is the standard they are selling/this should be expected, everyone else gets their signal from a military base, which works better at night/which is SOMEWHAT limited through out the day, depending on location, but when you pay the premium, you should get yours from a satellite/all I'm saying is a name can only get you so far, unless your just trying to fit in/you are just buying the name to be accepted/the name means nothing,if the materials the watch are made of, are junk/cheap,thats all I'm saying,we need to hold these watch manufacturers/companies to higher standards.
Citizen delivers. Just took delivery of a CB0140 pilots watch. Titanium, sapphire, Eco Drive, Radio Controlled, milled clasp, decent lume, perfect fit and finish and 100 grams on my 7 inch wrist. There is no Seiko equivalent that can complete for around 500€. This Chronomaster is terrific.
As GS seeks to out perform Rolex, I've replaced my yearning for Spring Drive with one of these 'The Citizen'. The accuracy is superior and the finish a match for its technical specifications. That it is cheaper than any Spring Drive puts it in my sights as a grail watch. However, Jody, you mentioned you've worn it more than any other since you received it. Is it's accuracy tainting your affection for your Autos. I'm afraid if I pull the trigger on a 'The Citizen ', I'll become indifferent towards the rest of my collection. Is it a problem?
It may be a problem! I'm loving the lack of weight and the comfort that brings the most, followed by the assurance that it'll always be at EXACTLY the right time. And at the end of the day, isn't that the point?

Bravo! Watch "enthusiasts" are usually such lemmings - fixated with only a few brands, with only a few models within those brands, with even certain colorways for a model. It's so refreshing to see a reviewer go against the group think - high accuracy quartz, solar, titanium, Japanese-manufacture makes so much sense but it's outside of the enthusiast's mindset.
I totally know what you mean by the Yahoo Auctions Japan rabbit hole. I have happily fallen down it several times and came away with some awesome old Casio G-SHOCK MR-G. I've been wanting to know more about the Chronomaster too, thanks for another really interesting and well done review!
Cracking watch that. I've had the 37mm version, and I congratulate you on your choice. I swapped my 37mm washi paper dial for a King Seiko limited, but I missed the paper. So I got myself the Iconic Nature limited Ibuki or Spring. That and the 37mm version of the chronomaster have hands that are slightly better proportioned, which is why I forego the lume. That said: Enjoy it! These are stunning, whatever one you buy. But as I also own a GS SGBP011 quartz watch, I can recommend picking up a GS quartz. They indeed have quite a bit of cachet, but honestly there are perks to the 9F85 movement as well. The double-tick is something to behold in real life. GS quartz and The Citizen / Chronomaster are the very pinnacle of the state of the art of timekeeping. But your Oceanus is no slouch either. So nice to see these get some love.
I really like this watch but I like citizen watches. I own 3 eco drives and 1 quartz. I also like the colour blue and do blue unlike you but to each there own. Anyway great watch and review. Keep it up like I said before in one of my comments you are one of the people that that helped me get into watches. Well I always was kind of into watches but you helped me get into them more and it helps when you show and review more affordable watches. So thanks again😊
Nice watch and good review Jody. I'm loving the Citizen Promaster that I won in your xmas drawing! I've regulated it to run about +/- 3 seconds a day. A real keeper. Cheers, mate.
Hi Jody. Thank you for the review. i've been looking to one of those for years but, in the minetime, my wife offer me a Seiko Astron. I think you've never reviewed One, but you definately should. More or less the same money, supreme finishing and a great movement. Thank you once again. Take care
I've had my eye on these for a while. I own several Citizens and I'm very happy with all of. them. I don't think many people are aware of some of the higher end watches Citizen produces like the Caliber C100 with a stated accuracy of +/- 1 second a year! 🤣 Worlds most accurate movement so they say. The Chronomaster is a fantastic looking watch and the white dial was an excellent choice.
Citizen is on top of the quartz list for me. They make the most accurate and overall just best Quartz watches. But they leg behind the Swiss and Seiko when it comes to high end mechanical watches. I don’t like how they just bought Swiss company to transfer the knowledge on mechanical watches. They lack originality in that respect. But their quartz watches are superb examples of how quartz can represent craftsmanship as well. You can see decades of thought and experimenting that went in their quartz movements.
I find it fascinating how in Japan domestic market a company can sell products from budget to luxury under the same brand. It doesn’t work in other markets. Most people buy luxury watch for the name on the dial. That’s why Toyota is selling their high end cars as Lexus and Seiko started Grand Seiko Brand. Head of marketing at Citizen should be fired, “The Citizen” is just not distinctive enough from Citizen to work as independent high end brand in the way Grand Seiko does.
Es una obra de arte su construcción tanto de caja como el movimiento muy buen video deja ver qué citizen no tiene nada que envidiar a gran Seiko saludos de Panamá 🇵🇦👍
I have the 37.5mm washi white dial. I can't get over this watch. Stunning in ways that cameras can't capture. Yeah, the legibility isn't great but I've never not been able to read the time either LOL.
I have an earlier version of this. People won't get it until you try on this watch. The crystal is so clear that you think it isn't there. Sometimes I catch myself poking the dial to make sure it didn't fall off. The comfort from the perfect balance of weight is incredible.
Amen Carl! So comfortable and amazing glass.
At least it has Sapphire glass, its also titanium, also at least its quartz/the time won't be off a minute to three minutes a day/hopefully it will only be off ABOUT fifteen seconds a month/maybe three minutes a year, the only way these watches are able to pull this off though/the only reason the time loss is in an acceptable range,is because, the Spring Dive movement,is regulated by quartz, with out the quartz, the Spring Dive movement, would be useless/trash as well and the Citizen uses quartz,to make sure its in an acceptable range, this is where the watch starts going way down hill/its tiny/its only 44mms,its a basic watch, feature wise/it also ONLY has 100mm water resistance,no solar,no Atomic, honestly for these prices, every single watch made by these companies should, MAYBE be made out of Titanium, even if its disguised titanium, meaning they can still keep the look their going for, but just add that durability, it should DEFINITELY have sapphire glass,it should DEFINITELY be 200mm+ water resistant,it should be solar and it should be atomic, no matter which watch it is,the value of these parts are DEFINITELY not worth the price tag anyway, your paying for a name and to be honest, they should make ALL of their watches keep time to 1 second a year or just perfect it,even if Atomic is built in or if it uses a satellite of some kind, after all for these prices, there is no limit/for the price their charging NOTHING should be left out/left off,no excuses,we should DEFINITELY hold these companies to higher standards/I think if you buy a watch at these prices, it should have ALL of these features and you should have access to their time keeping satellites, that could auto wind your watch/send a signal to automatically set and wind your clock at midnight every night.

I have been sticking with Citizen since 1995 and have never been disappointed
Beautiful watch for those who prefer understated perfection in timekeeping. Very impressive!
I will stay with my beast of a watch witch is just has accurate my bulova sea king I got it for les then a quarter of the price of your citizen but saying that you have got your self a nice watch
Oh my God, this is what peak Quartz looks like. Mind-blowing piece
Finally Citizen get the appreciation from you they deserve. Details like the artisanal handmade paper worked into the dial is what I love about Japanese watchmaking, subtle nods to Japanese culture that aren't in your face though. But all things considered, a Grand Seiko would give me more tingles.
I need to go to bed…
Ha! Only 18 minutes to go and you can do mate!
… I just woke up. Good morning from Germany 😅
Me too man, 2:18 amhere
Know that feel, man.
Morning from UK. just woke up and now watching this and googling for this watch.
You should check out the Seiko SARX titanium models (055, 057) If you like this style of Ti finishing.
The GS Snowflake is titanium and it is beautifully finished.
You melt
Good to see Citizen giving Seiko a run for its money, just like it did back in the day.
They might be giving Seiko a run, but it's not in the same league as a GS
@@grenphelps7455 100% its not in the same ball park as GS.

I own the black face. Got mine while in Japan. Definitely wearing this more than my Grand Seiko Spring Drive GMT.
I have 7 Citizen watches and love them all.
Great looking quartz. Love that it hits all of the markers. Brilliant purchase.
@@bigwilliearmitage The truth is that people don't really care. More expensive watches are really bought for the name, not for quality.
I just got in the AQ4080-52L, which is the steel The Citizen, same movement but more of a classic oyster style dress watch. Simply stunning. Love it!
glad people are finally taking notice of these, my holy grail watch
What's the max bracelet size? I've been looking at one for ages, but I'm a 7.5 to 8 wrist, depending on weather and what I've been doing in the gym
What so difficult? I DIY it. Just like any other watch. Just need the right drivers.

Took it to my watchmaker. Young guy. Did it in 2 minutes.
This looks awesome...was hoping for more macro shots of that dial.
The layered dial design is fascinating and has subtle, interesting appearance. Well done Citizen.
Thanks for the review. Very nice looking watch. I love the high-end JDM watches - I have a Casio Oceanus, Citizen Attesa, and a Seiko Astron.
The one thing that is truly awesome about the Grand Seiko 9F movements over the citizen is that they actually tick twice per second. While you can't see the double tick with the naked eye, the effect it has is making the actual ticking of the seconds hand Uber smooth, so much so that it's as pleasant as looking at the tick of a mechanical watch, at least for me
I’ve used the slow motion function on my phone camera. Easily seen and even more appreciated on my 9F GS! Citizen also makes a great watch too!
but the GS you need to change batteries.
@@efreutel oh that's really cool
Thanks for the review Jody. I've been patiently waiting for this one since you mentioned you got one last year. I'm seriously tempted. 😎
Mine is from 2014 and is still in great condition and blingy thanks to Duratec. Fantastic watch, and very underrated.
Thanks for your review 👍
This is truly impressive, and its under the radar character is part of that. It wasn’t called out in the review, but it looks the the hour and minute hands have a “tip of the sword” bevel at the tip. It looks so good!
A fine watch Jody. Been looking into high end Citizens myself, although not that high-end.
so thankful for a proper quartz review
But with the 9F you can change the battery yourself, right?

Congratulations Jody! It's beautiful.
This was to be my best kept secret, now it's all over the place! :) Thanks, mate! ;)
Another amazing piece. My first "nice" watch was a super titanium Eco-Drive which was a GADA watch for a decade.
As one video stated, this is the best watch in the world.
Great video !! I bought my Citizen from an upmarket watch dealer and though I have other watches it is the one always on my wrist !
I love the Titanium and its almost (weight wise) non existent on my wrist
It's the 300 meter Royal Marines Commando L.E.
The Saphire crystal is the best out of all my watches !!
The accuracy is exactly +20 seconds in 6 months which is also my most accurate out of all my branded watches
And finally it's the watch that I always get envious remarks like "that's a nice watch" or if they don't verbally say anything, their eyes are focused on my wrist whilst I'm having a conversation!
Sleeper luxury, a rarity in the watch world!
Been waiting for more reviews on this model and rivalling the higher end watches is crazy from citizen
Been waiting for a nice citizen and love the eco drive chronos. This video has me reavaluating my choices. Thanks Jodi
Citizen is a great watchbrand. Their Solar line is fantastic.
General appearance is Casio (EFV-100D)-esque.. which has sexier hands.
Loving these new Citizen watches. Thanks for featuring so many!
Been stalking this watch for a while now. Happy for this review finally!
I think this is one of your better written videos. Always a joy to listen
Thanks mate! Extra long. Ha!
"Hello and welcome" makes my day! Thank you Jody!
CITIZEN never disappoint
I've been waiting for this!
I'm generally a black dial lover, but this watch looks absolutely amazing in white. You definitely chose the right color!
Thanks, Jody! This was a joy to watch.
Wow. I love it. Thank you for showing that all Quartz are not made equally
These are better watch,SOME lack SOME features,but they are all at least built well/they are not just junk/they will actually hold up;

@@JustOneMoreWatch uh oh. Could this be the end of the JOMW watch channel? Damn you citizen!

quartz accuracy is definitely going to attract you after wearing mechanical! I've even gone to mecaquartz because maintenance on a valjoux 7750 is crazy expensive.
i got tired of needing to winding/setting my watch monday mornings, just want grab and go. eco-drive is the ultimate never worry.
speaking of worry, my longines vhp is telling me that I need a replacement battery...
@@mattmatt2417 why do you post the same long, long reply to most comments?
Over past 2 months I have worn a Seiko Solar Tuna with a steel aftermarket shroud. I have an old tricompax perpetual calendar Citizen that is a bit to change for daylight savings and travel and looks like a WalMart discount bin reject.
This one nails it. Striking resemblance to a Perpetual- or DayDate. Will watch this again in a week. Maybe shopping time.
Amazing one Jody!!! This exact model is my grail watch since I discovered it 5 years ago. Thanks a lot
What a winner I love a super accurate watch we cant use atomic controlled in South Africa unfortunately 👍 thanks Jody good review
Thanks for this review. That paper on the dial is wonderful! Lovely.
I adore the understated look of this watch. You could wear it every day and to any occasion.
Didn’t think I’d like it. I do! Still, you’re absolutely correct for that kind of money I’d prefer something else. Just got my Kuraburi Ti from helm. Not the same thing at all I know but, I love it.
I've been wanting to know more about the Chronomaster too, thanks for another really interesting and well done review!
was wondering when you would get to The Citizen. they really do make an excellent piece.
Hey Chris! I fancy the GMT 9F, the SBGN011. Perhaps next year....?
I really like this watch but I like citizen watches. I own 3 eco drives and 1 quartz. I also like the colour blue and do blue unlike you but to each there own. Anyway great watch and review. Keep it up like I said before in one of my comments you are one of the people that that helped me get into watches. Well I always was kind of into watches but you helped me get into them more and it helps when you show and review more affordable watches. So thanks again😊
Great review! Have been considering a purchase of this very watch recently, great timing Jody
Thanks for your review and closing summary. This one is definitely on my radar! 😍
Nice watch and good review Jody. I'm loving the Citizen Promaster that I won in your xmas drawing! I've regulated it to run about +/- 3 seconds a day. A real keeper. Cheers, mate.
Absolute stunning, Citizen need to do more in refined, simple dial designs!
Nice review, I have been considering these Citizen's for a few months now.
Hi Jody. Thank you for the review. i've been looking to one of those for years but, in the minetime, my wife offer me a Seiko Astron. I think you've never reviewed One, but you definately should. More or less the same money, supreme finishing and a great movement. Thank you once again. Take care
I was thinking about picking up an Ascent, but then I saw this review! All jokes aside, ordered this in the black dial (used) and I can't wait!
I was waiting for this review! Lovely watch!
Just a bit too expensive for a Citizen, but that Eco-Drive movement is really incredible.
Great observation on the hands being a bit to short.
Idk about Grand Seiko killer but a nice watch for sure
Es una obra de arte su construcción tanto de caja como el movimiento muy buen video deja ver qué citizen no tiene nada que envidiar a gran Seiko saludos de Panamá 🇵🇦👍
I have the 37.5mm washi white dial. I can't get over this watch. Stunning in ways that cameras can't capture. Yeah, the legibility isn't great but I've never not been able to read the time either LOL.
