I've been eyeing this watch for a while. I really wish it had a second hand. I buy an automatic to see the second-hand sweep! I want a Hamilton on my budget. They do come and go on Jomashop and Ashford, the have for months. A new dress watch arrived today, and I'm still looking at this! Thanks Jody! I have about 8 dress watches, already, the style I personally like the best, but wear the least. Again, thanks, Jody! Tempting.
Saw the deal just after Christmas and Ashford had it for $299 plus another $30 off. I got the grey dial for $269. I was worried my wife would be upset because I have so many watches but when she saw the watch, she loved it!
Received mine (grey-blue version) yesterday in Germany. €380 after tax. I'm more than happy with it. I'd have preferred 38mm but 40mm (7¼" wrist) works because it's so thin. My date wheel is color matched so it doesn't bother me at all. Learning that it's sold out gives me guilty satisfaction... 😜
When it comes to Hamilton packaging... when I got my Khaki Mechanical, it was off of airline miles. It came to me with the standard Hamilton box, but it was empty, and along side it was an odd little blister pack that had the actual watch in it. And it clicked to me. The watches probably don't come to retailers in the giant boxes, and retailers combine them at purchase time. Anyhow, lovely watch, great deal. I'm mixed on the movement. While it's neat to have an automatic, and the thinness is impressive, it's more a movement that you know is impressive than can see is impressive. I defy anyone to tell the difference between an automatic two-hander and a quartz two-hander, unless looking at the caseback. If looking at the hands, a quartz and automatic movement is going to be nigh indistinguishable without that seconds hand. Again, can't argue with that particular grey market bargain. But at MSRP? I'd find it a tough sell.
When deals like this pop up, I always wonder what preceded it? Upgrading the line, so the old one's must go? Discontinuing them? Major retailer went under? Not popular enough? Doesn't matter that it really doesn't matter.....I just want to know the whole story!!! Great deal, and glad someone who appreciated them got one....
Usually its to off load something that isn't selling and is taking up warehousing space that could go to something that will sell. The company will usually sell them off for around the price they bought from Hamilton.
A local Sam's Club near me had a few of these Jazzmaster Thinline watches on clearance for $289. I ended up buying three of them in different colors. The good thing about Sam's Club is, I can sit on them for a while and return them when I decide which of the three to keep. I may just hold on to all three. I feel like these watches provide a lot of bang for the buck at less than $300.
Great watch - thanks Jodie! Just got myself an Addiesdive MY-H2 Field/Flieger in blue - absolutely perfect watch in every way! Just changed the strap to a Marine Nationale nato in blue&white. Cheers from Bremen/Germany 🧡
Enjoying, seeing dress watches, that you frequently show us. This one is, as you say a nugget. I enjoy all types of watches, but we get plenty of tool watch styles. This is refreshing.👍
Costco is selling them here in Canada for $599 (usd $418). If you discount the shipping plus the r4pe UPS charges you on customs brokerage, it's in fact cheaper than Ashford's
I was laughing when I watched your previous vid talking about this one, because I came across it on Ashford a week or so ago myself and snapped it up immediately. Wasn't even sure I wanted the darn thing, but couldn't resist the deal. 😂🤦♂️🤙🏻
I bought that Hamilton in black same day you posted the announcement video. That Thinline at 8mm+ thick. My wrist is bigger 8 1/2” requiring me to order a longer leather strap. The color you bought didn’t seem available at Ashford, but I did stop looking after I spied the black. Good call!!
This came up with that new Vacheron 222 (which I will probably never even be in the same room as) in that a watch without a seconds hand arguably should feel comfortable reducing the frequency in order to extend the power supply. It's not a big deal here since we're talking about an automatic, but still, a longer life would definitely be a welcome trade-off, especially since the Hamilton has a date function.
I've been keeping an eye on this one since December at Ashford. After I saw your video I pulled the trigger the same day (blue dial since the champagne was gone). I refreshed the page for Hamiltons after the fact to check other watches and all of them were gone. I think I got the last one lol. Love the watch, it is super classy.
I’ve had my eye one these for a couple of years. But I just know I’d just miss having that movement in the dial. I wish there was a version with a second hand.
The lack of a second hand is a dealbreaker for me. If I’m careful about when I arrive for a meeting or I’m doing something basic like cooking, I want to be precise. That’s why my Certina DS-4 Auto is my ideal dress Watch
I love it. Honestly I much prefer it not having a seconds hand as I rarely have to knowthe time down to the second and even though it has a date, its at the 6 o'clock. I'd very much like to get one of these
I have the Hamilton Intra-matic (38mm). It has the same movement and a similarly thin case, but I prefer the smaller diameter. Now, you can also get it on Ashford for a ridiculously low price.
I’ve been keeping tabs of Hamilton stock on Ashford for literal years. These will be back in stock. They’ve been selling them forever. They’ll be back, they’ll still be affordable.
I had an idea what if there were no watches available for more than $1200 U.S. dollars, what would be the top brand(s)? What would be the grail watch? Seiko? Tissot? A micro brand? What would be the best built, best value, most beautiful? Just a thought, thanks!
There are some incredible deals for Hamilton on Ashford. I got a Ventura automatic for about 450USD. Ther are Hamilton auto chronographs up for less than 700USD. I saw a very cheap Mido too. Swatch grouip old stock is where the value is...
I just got mine yesterday. Does the rotor on yours seem loud? When I shake my Hamilton, I can actually hear the rotor spinning. Any help is appreciated.
Love the Jazzmaster. It is such a shame about the no second hand though on an automatic. I love seeing a nice sweep, I occasionally do count seconds for things and time stuff. Even if they could pull it off with an extra mil, I’d get one. Had my eye on the H38525141 with the beads of rice bracelet, but again that second hand and the price makes me not want it lol. Would rather put that money elsewhere
I saw it for the same price for a few days, around a month before your “Top 10” video, so as you said, just keep an eye out, and the sale for the model will pop up again.
This is a bit plain to excite me. A sweep second hand would have helped, and I'm surprised that on a watch at this MSRP level Hamilton didn’t frame the date window to match the indices. Still, the thinness and movement are pluses, so there's no arguing that you got a true bargain, Jody. I hope you enjoy wearing it.
I have several Hamiltons. They make a great watch, but Hamiltons has never caught on to the concept that lume is no longer an accent or design feature. Hamilton lume is like having NO lume at all and it's been that way forever. For a couple of cents more, they could do it right.
I'm a new enthusiast. Yesterday I added the first to my collection: Casio AE1200. With brands like Hamilton making affordable watches, I fear for my savings.
4Hz with no seconds hand?! Too bad, I'd be more interested if there would be a nicely sweeping hand there. But I guess that would easily add some thickness...
What a beautiful watch! Thank's God is too big for my wrist and, btw, I hate "dead" watches that lacks seconds hand 😅 Otherwise, I would be purchasing one.
Ordered mine right after your first video and should be here tomorrow. Got the blue. And yes I looked then next day, the 15th, and they were gone. Thanks for the heads up!!
Never understood the point of a mechanical watch without a seconds hand. Might as well put a quartz movement in it then you at least get the benefit of accuracy and power reserve. 😊
I had that grey Hamilton Jazzmaster some time ago and quickly moved on. For a dresswatch (at least for me) it wears too large. The dimensions do not feel right being too flat for its size, or being too big for its flatness. Wears like a pancake on the wrist. The rotor was horribly noisy on top. A rattling pancake that really didn't feel like Swiss quality. Just my personal take on that. Back then this watch retailed for some 700 Euro.
Screaming deal, well done! I adore seeing Jazzmaster love, such a great line. I implore you to check out the day date version. It's different, but the dna is undeniable. Slightly thicker, slightly more lume, but the dial balance is on point (12 position day, six position date, color match wheels). If symmetry, dophine hands, and minimalism are your thing, it's worth checking out.
They had a screaming deal on the hamilton khaki scuba a few months ago too. I spammed a bunch of watch channel comments so people would know. they were sold out in a few days I think.
Good find. You'd pay not a lot less than that for an ETA 2892 movement alone.
Kind of tragic there’s no second hand, so you can see that wonderful 4 hz sweep… 😢
I've been eyeing this watch for a while. I really wish it had a second hand. I buy an automatic to see the second-hand sweep! I want a Hamilton on my budget. I ordered mine on the 20th as a late gift to myself, arrived on the 23rd!
. . . and everyone is still making a little money at that price. !!
Great Watch 👍 I've bought the same Watch.
@WatchGuyJive Yeah, got mine for the same. It looks 🔥 on a Forstner BOR I want to get the factory BOR for it though.

I like the dial color! Also the cardinal indicies make it stand out nicely.
Enjoying, seeing dress watches, that you frequently show us. This one is, as you say a nugget. I enjoy all types of watches, but we get plenty of tool watch styles. This is refreshing.👍
Still have some on the website. I just bought a grey dial one $330 shipped to Oz. They have silver too

My Costco doesn't sell any decent brands. There is a brand new Costco built not far from me, maybe I should go there next time. Here's to hoping
I was laughing when I watched your previous vid talking about this one, because I came across it on Ashford a week or so ago myself and snapped it up immediately. Wasn't even sure I wanted the darn thing, but couldn't resist the deal. 😂🤦♂️🤙🏻

Does the date have a quickset feature, or do you need to advance the hands to set the date?

Stunning watch. Although I’m a bit basic so I like seeing the seconds hand going around. Well done on nabbing one though!
The 2892 alone typically sells for almost what you laid out for the whole watch. If you like the look, it's hard to imagine a better deal than that.
I got one as well. The best value deal I found and absolute lovely watch. Love it!
I’ve had my eye one these for a couple of years. But I just know I’d just miss having that movement in the dial.
I wish there was a version with a second hand.
My wife gave me the blue variant of this for me for Christmas. I LOVE it!

Oh man, I'd LOVE a 36-37mm version of this with a non-sunburst dial.
Hamilton Intra-matic is 38mm I’ve seen them on Ashford before and Boulton is 34mm tank watch.
I do my periodic check in on Ashford it’s where I got my Intra-matic at a similar price. I go Hamilton > New Arivals ✌🏼🇺🇸
There are some incredible deals for Hamilton on Ashford. I got a Ventura automatic for about 450USD. Ther are Hamilton auto chronographs up for less than 700USD. I saw a very cheap Mido too. Swatch grouip old stock is where the value is...
Try to change watchband to coffee color, looks better.
I need me one of those beautiful ASCENT Black Enamel or White Enamel to review! If only I knew how to contact Jody!
I just got mine yesterday. Does the rotor on yours seem loud? When I shake my Hamilton, I can actually hear the rotor spinning. Any help is appreciated.
Mine too
I have this Thineline beauty as well in the charcoal dial! Thanks again Jody!!
How hard would it be to remove the movement and add a second hand?
Thank you Jody just picked up mine at UPS as well thx to your last video.
Love the Jazzmaster. It is such a shame about the no second hand though on an automatic. I love seeing a nice sweep, I occasionally do count seconds for things and time stuff. Got that same watch last year. Still kicking myself for not getting the red one when it was available.
I saw it for the same price for a few days, around a month before your “Top 10” video, so as you said, just keep an eye out, and the sale for the model will pop up again.
What about UPS brokerage charges and or other fees they tag on?
Hellooooooo looking for a t shirt you wore
Life of a watchmaker the guy had a magnifying glass bent over on the search .
Where do I buy it
Shame about the date complication ruining the dial. And is it really needed on this style of watch?
No doubt a banging deal. nice one, micro price for Swiss & 2892,so not sutupid thick. Coulda been slimmer without the pointless clear caseback.
It’s a nice review Jody and a beautiful Hamilton watch.😃
This is a bit plain to excite me. A sweep second hand would have helped, and I'm surprised that on a watch at this MSRP level Hamilton didn’t frame the date window to match the indices. Good buy jody, worth the 500

Could be a Sekonda.
But it’s not
Personally, I dislike the leather strap, maybe on a metal band ?
But for the rest, it looks very good and dressy... 👍
Nice dial, but I still prefer the looks of my orange fume dial Ascent!
Love it. Getting it.
We need more champaign dials in new watches and dial mods.
I find it beautiful.
Best regards
The movement is 300 to buy alone so yeah its a go if you dig the look
I love it. I noticed it two weeks ago. I wanted the blue one, but they ran out.
I'm a new enthusiast. Yesterday I added the first to my collection: Casio AE1200. With brands like Hamilton making affordable watches, I fear for my savings.
Why would you put in an automatic movement without a seconds hand? Just use a quartz at that point.
Bought the same exact one with my first salary for 500 swiss francs!
Very nice dresser. Great show!
4Hz with no seconds hand?! Too bad, I'd be more interested if there would be a nicely sweeping hand there. But I guess that would easily add some thickness...
Walmart has the blue one in stock for $399 which is still a great price if anyone is looking.
The Champaign and black models are back on Ashford.
Good deal.😊
Sweet watch!
What a beautiful watch! Thank's God is too big for my wrist and, btw, I hate "dead" watches that lacks seconds hand 😅 Otherwise, I would be purchasing one.
It’s gorgeous, a tad too big in my opinion, but still a great buy for the right wrist.
Cracking dress watch!
Ordered mine right after your first video and should be here tomorrow. Got the blue. And yes I looked then next day, the 15th, and they were gone. Thanks for the heads up!!
I've got an early 40's manual movement men's watch, the case is solid gold. (It's very small though).
I have a cat
@JohnnyBagvieGolf You are what you have as a pet, is what I've what's been told.
@ I thought we were just randomly listing things we have that are irrelevant to the subject matter at hand.
link?
Bloody hell!!! Thats an incredible deal. Cheers.
Never understood the point of a mechanical watch without a seconds hand. Might as well put a quartz movement in it then you at least get the benefit of accuracy and power reserve. 😊
I saw the champagne and the black dial live on Ashford's site. Happy hunting, all.
Band aid on your pointer finger. All ok? Watch is nice too 🙂
I had that grey Hamilton Jazzmaster some time ago and quickly moved on.
Thoughts on the 2025 San Martin Chinese New Year Watch that just dropped on Ali Express, Jody? Anybody?
Screaming deal, well done! I adore seeing Jazzmaster love, such a great line.

Exactly - I was searching and this perfect ideem wasen't to be found ((
No second hand is a deal breaker for me… has to have one! Other than that it looks good.
Very classy.
Really beautiful watch
Yep, they sold out quick, but I got the black one.
Wish it had a seconds hand though
That’s quite nice.
Man if this thing had not date, it would be so spot on…still very nice given the price
Pretty nice dress watch from a company not really known for dress watches.
Also check the secondary market. Got a Hamilton American Classic Railroad(H-10 Auto) for like $225 in full wooden box..
Is that what we used to call used?
@@zplapplap hah fair enough.. ok used ;) previously loved?.. honestly it looked new..
They had a screaming deal on the hamilton khaki scuba a few months ago too. I spammed a bunch of watch channel comments so people would know. they were sold out in a few days I think.
I don't need another watch that'll cost more than I paid for it to service... do I?
Remember the Seiko Pressage? No? Me neither.
nice pick ❤
would be cool if it had a second hand
A coworker has one, really great watch.
Lovely watch but just can't handle the 40mm 😞
Saw it in person at my local Sam’s Club before Christmas for $268 USD. I regretfully passed on it.
nice watch for a bargain price... enjoy it cheers
I jhave the same watch 👊
Be honest. Am I the only one to try to perfect my Jody impression with “Hellooo and welcome to Just One More Watch!”
No seconds hand ?
That strap is a big no no, this definitely needs an instant change.... But jup, nice watch, especially considering what you´ve paid for it. Well done.
