I really like that you're showing this on an acoustic guitar because most people think they have to play the blues on electric the original Blues was never played on electric they didn't have electric guitars thank you so much
What a fantastic easy way to pick up a lesson. After a couple of rewinds I'm now playing something that actually sounds like the blues!! I've waited ages for something like this! Wish I knew this when I was a fresh faced teenager but hey! Never too late to enjoy. Thanks. Great stuff
Congrats on the progress! It’s really amazing how much of an impact one concept can have on your playing. Glad you’re enjoying this lesson. Have fun!
swiftlessons hi! I agree with you on this. I actually said to my wife earlier that isn't funny how sometimes you JUST know you're going to remember something as soon as you've heard it yet other times some things can just go over your head no matter how many times you've tried to get it!! Thanks again from Scotland
What a wonderful lesson as it pulls everything together so clearly. This fellow’s lessons are the best in the business. I have subscribed to his Patreon for years and have never had second thoughts. Thank you, young man, for helping me on my guitar journey
Wonderful lesson! I've been playing for nearly 60 years and I learned a new way to think about lead guitar. Exciting!
Out of 20-30 Acoustic guitar Blues videos I have in my RUclips Library, this is the Best. I'm a finger picker & like another person replying, I've been playing for more than 50 years and finally have the right lesson to play the Acoustic Blues. Thank you!
Yes, your pretty much correct. However, his periods of playing change when you really study him. I do study his late 50’s early 60’s period. So, yes. Good video to start learning about playing like Mr. King. I liked it. Your honest, young, and I sincerely hope you’ll pass this along. I’m old and won’t be around much longer. I was able to see him before he crossed over. Huge difference in his periods and development over the years of his career. I’ve studied him since 1967. Still do. It’s never ending. Happy to see you doing this!
I was expecting you to describe Albert's box the way a lot of people do. But nope.... One of the best explanations I've seen of the actual position BB used so well. Good job.
The smoothest voice on RUclips. And one of the absolute best teachers. Cheers, Rob.
So practical and simple. I really appreciate how you make chord structure and relative notes understandable!
which bit? I find this guy bad at teaching!
Your videos make learning to begin very easy, which means you're number one in explaining the ABC's of good guitar playing from the 'git-go,' yo. Getting people addicted, believing, IS the key to learning and inspiration. Good Work! FIVE STARS. COUNT 'EM!
PERFECT lesson that I have been seeking for a decade on the tube ! This one nails it !
I know you get this all the time but you’re without the doubt the best online teacher. Can’t wait to tackle this lesson !
That Seagull BARKS. Great lesson and great guitar
Terrific Rob! Anything blues-related is always appreciated.
Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying my blues stuff, that’s really at the core of my playing so it’s something that I’m happy to teach. Many more to come!
Simply just amazing, listening to this in my car on my way to get a coffee it’s 5am and those sounds coming out of my speakers that you’re playing got me feeling like I’ve gone to heaven. So relaxing and soulful. Love it, absolutely love it. Thanks for the video I’ll be sure to practice the heck out of this lol
I attempt to tried blues on my acoustic guitar so many time and never work out well, until I saw this video! Thanks you so much!!!! NOW I can finally play something sounds like blues for once
Great lesson! I've been using BB King's A minor box to play over A minor backtracks and then I moved the box to try some g-back tracks and now you've shown me how to properly play over E Major, which opens up a whole new batch of learning for me! Perfect progression for me, thank you.
Thanks Rob great pointers. Just thought I'd let you know that thanks to you, my fingerpicking has improved immensely since learning Helplessly Hoping from you. Thanks once again👌
Love how he has a stash of electrics in the background but choses to play B.B King on an acoustic lol
Blues in acoustic hits different;)
ALWAYS end EVERY comment with "lol"
I prefer playing acoustic to electric don't know why my dad taught me to play from the age of 6 now I'm 27 and still will always pick my acoustic over my electrics.
hahahahahaa i love this guy
So I gave this a try and I really liked it. I’ve known about BB’s box before but this lesson opened up a new way to approach it and on a slightly different spot on the neck, plus a real clever way of finding it. Good lesson. Sometimes these RUclips guitar lessons can get a little...I dunno, hard to follow. Not this one. Real easy to follow and straight to the point. Keep up the good work.
I didn't come here to learn how to play lead, I can already do that. I came here to look for different ways to look at the fretboard. you delivered and I thank you.
The Greatest thing to know is He CAN TEACH and He's a Awesome guitar player
Just love that snigger of satisfaction at the end of your initial demo .... soul moving music hehe.....
Great lesson! I couldn't find such a good video on BB's box anywhere else!
Amzing playing
One of the best explanation on the BBbox AAA+++
I usually go back to your older videos to review stuff. It's really good, it always brings elements that I missed or didn't get the first time. Thanks for all this! Cheers 🎵🎵🎵
A great lesson. Thank you for sharing. Great insight into theory matched with a practical application. Sign of a teacher who really knows their subject. Thank you!
Great lesson! Really the way you connect the dots to the scales. This really helps put things in context with the whole exercise. Will definitely join your Patreon. 👍😃
Precise, clear and easy to follow guitar teacher!
So simple and easy to understand--took all the mystery out of it---thanks Rob!
I get it.Because i learnt the 5 pentatonic scales i can see in my mind the E scale in the A box .But its great to see where to go if playing in E without learning the scale position .

Single best lesson I have ever seen. Thanks so much.
Thanks so much. This really did help me playing B.B.'s box. Fantastic!!🎸👍
Something i learned from bb. Take your hand off the fret board more. A tough one to do but it makes you think more about what you'll play next
No need for overcomplicating music theory, Simplicity is genius, thank you great lesson
Great guitar player and teacher. Thank you, what a valuable lesson !!
Thanks Rob these lessons are great
Thanks Rob this has really helped as I have been getting frustrated about all this best wishes colin UK
Sweet
And nice giggle in the end of the solo
Haha, as a result of me not knowing how to end it. That E9 chord is always a nice, and conclusive chord, but I had something else in mind.
Pretty good brother. I feel my mind is opening up thank you
Nice lesson dude.. gotta say you sound exactly like Bill & Ted
Awesome! Ive been messing with the bb box but resolving on the I, IV, or V brought it home. I started to sweat when you brought in the music theory but i hung in there! I slways used the 3rd way of finding it ( octives) but i will now use the 1st.
I love the fact that you are playing a seagull!
It’s a pretty fantastic guitar!
Just got myself a Simon and Patrick( Godin family) concert hall faded denim!
New fan. What model is this though? Sounds killer!
Satyam Neelkamal looks like a Seagull Entourage series, concert hall

Subbed ,most comprehensive. and I been playing a while .great job
Brilliant ol'boy
Actually a good lesson cheers mate
Great lesson.
Its nice to borrow a bit of BB in the major pentatonic..but mixed with minor for me. Its like the minor scale and minor pentatonic switching associated with Santana. BB himself didnt switch much in a major 145, and saved his minor blues for a minor blues song....but I find it nice to switch all the time between the 2.
He did have principle based on what he "felt" was right. Perhaps he felt maj blues was happy, and minor blues should be sad. who knows.
Man i have one year experience of playing guitar. Now i want to learn it to make it to another level . I like blues very much can you tell me a playlist from where i can learn basic and advance stuff in blues from your channel. And man you are great teacher. Thankssss

I have looked around for lessons, I been trusting my ear but I've been stuck & your explanation is great. I didn't know lots blues are in C or G7 I think you mentioned that , but for general music theory you really are good teacher, I had way too many tutorials I m sorting out cuz some just deal with particular song or piece I'll keep n some well I don't want to talk negative but WOW if you get my drift. But loved that BB box lesson in any key well Ciao gotta listen again till I'm solid with it Thanks again, I am subscribed.😯
As simple as great!
