Yup, the intense is my favourite perfume. Plus it lasts a long time on my skin and it last about two weeks on my clothes.

I personally love Amber, Vanilla, Jasmine, Musk notes & dislike Coconut, Plum notes.. Would you recommend Valentino Donna Born in Roma or the Intense version for me?

The Original sounds like the young woman's Signature Scent. Its the perfect scent impression she can wear to work, then head to a concert or dinner date. Intense sounds like the maturing Executive whose fragrance would get washed out by the men she sits with in meetings, her impression is stronger. Intense could be worn by either at night, or used to refresh the Original for after work fun.

I was in Ulta shopping for my lady and I smelled both fragrances. I liked both, but ended up buying the Valentino Roma instead of the Intense. I just felt like Intense Roma was strictly a date night/boxers dropper scent. The original is definitely a better choice IMO because it can be worn as a signature and for numerous occasions.

Great review and open minded, mature perspective of liking or not liking a fragrance. You’re point that perfumes are a work of art and just because one might not like it doesn’t mean it’s terrible. i think it smells exactly like how the bottle looks! its the same dna of the original but so much deeper and a darker take on the original and if the original is ur signature scent then i feel like this would be perfect to own for winter in case u want something deeper
The original smells fruity & floral without being cloying, I love it so much ! It’s a nice girly perfume and also has a mature scent that would be good for a night out or special occasion! It would be good for all ages

I agree re the OG… BUT I received the mini as a gift and after wearing it I actually enjoy it. NOW I’m not sure if I will invest in a full size. i still need to smell coral fantasy.

Nice review! I heard a lot of people say that they prefer the original. I wanted to get the intense because a few people said the vanilla bourbon note was louder and that it was too boozy, and I love me a strong boozy vanilla bourbon note. I was ready to blind buy it in hopes that it would be a strong boozy vanilla, now I think I better play it safe and get a travel size instead. Thanks 🙏

Yeah for people who says they “hate” the intense but “love” the original doesn’t make sense to me. Yes, the intense isn’t an intense version of the original BUT you can still tell it’s DBIR. Sometimes I think a lot of people down talk a fragrance to talk themselves out of buying it 😂 As for me, VBIR was & is my top fave designer perfume next to Libre but I honestly can say it’s more “mature”, more “grown up” (not great with my words so I don’t want anyone to take me wrong - apologies in advance). For
example, my young adult daughters would definitely rock VBIR & I would VBIRI. The intense is better for me. Also, my husband would say (only if I asked) VBIR “yeah, it smells nice.” Not “you smell nice”. But when I wore the Intense around him he said “what are are wearing today? You smell really nice.” 😊

Yess 100% agree with you! Ysl libre is my favorite fragrance and just purchased the Valentino born in toma intense and omg I love it I tried born in roma original fragrance and it was not for me. I like more of a intense sexy mature fragrance and the intense did it for me
Honey I went to Sephora for Marc Jacob's Daisy and left with both Valentino's...LOVE IT❤ Smells amazing on me and worth ALL the hype. Didn't think I'd want the intense, but it was a whole WIN for me. One thing I'd definitely add is to use just a little. That intense holds its own for sure❤

I got to smell the whole line in Bloomingdale’s and fell in love with the intense, the original is a little too sweet for me, love the powdery notes in the intense. Got it today from Ulta. Can’t wait to receive it!

Best thing I do is them together. Try mixing the intense and more of the original born in Roma and the scent will last longer

You are so right! DBIR intense is absolutely about jasmine, it starts with vanilla, but very very quickly it disappears and you hear only jasmine. Be careful, dont let vanilla at the start fool you
Intense smells good, never got one comment from anyone on wearing it. I've tried 3 sprays up to 10. Not one comment. I like the smell but no one can smell it unless they are extremely up close
That intense is def better than the regular
It s.elled so wonderful to me in the store i couldn't stop smelling it so i bought it. After coming home and showering the strength of it on my skin has changed. I cant smell it when it drys down. I really want to love it as i did in the store im going to keep it for a bit longer before i think about returning

I don't like how the intense smells initially on me. But I think the dry-down of the intense is sexier than one of the OG. But that initial spray... not really. Overall, the OG is a nice crowd pleasing fragrance. I agree with you the intense is not safe to blindbuy.

I went out yesterday and bought it for an early bday gift for myself 😋 and I really like it! It last a long time on my clothes and I really enjoy the bourbon vanilla as one of the top notes! Yumm!!

Now, for me in the beginning I wasn't really sure about this one when I first got it, but I wore it and I am glad I blind bought it... it's funny because this is my SOTD, layered with the original and Lady Luck body oil

when i spray expensive perfume on my clothes omg it stays forever and one time i had a bag of washed clothes to donate and when i opened it at the donation place the smell swirled up around and omg it is a pleasure that makes life beautiful

I have Intense but finally broke down and purchased the original. I had a travel and loved it. I didn't like the other 2 in the flanker.

It must be the Jasmine because neither of these worked for me. I purchased both and returned. Was looking for I guess a more mature sent that built off the original but the intense, to me, is a completely different perfume. I appreciate your caution not to “throw out the baby with the bath water” with out comments. Perfume is definitely not all or nothing.

I love Born in Roma. It’s the only perfume I wear. Most perfumes marketed to women smell like chemicals to me. This is a good balance of masculine and feminine scents. I haven’t the intense one. I am curious.

I absolutely LOVE the original, however the intense version is an absolute NO!!! The initial spray was pleasant, however the dry down on my skin was horrendous. Ughhhh, I was so disappointed.

The intense one smelled horrible for hours on me! Like an old Lady? Idk how to describe it. It started to smell nice only like 5 hours later. The regular one was nice right away - I have them both on my jacket, lol. Still smell both of them a week later. But still prefer the light bottle - sweet, like cotton candy almost.
I have the OG which I love. I have tried the intense. I thought I would like it because I love perfumes with the jasmine note. Its nice not horrible at all, but It’s not for me. I’ll pass.

I’ve tested the intense twice and it starts out a bit fruity/juicy to me. I didn’t keep the testing strip so idk how it manages throughout the day. I think I’m going to get the travel size

In Intense Born in Roma there is no coconut at all, but for some reason I can feel it 100%! But, I like coconut. So Intense its not for you!

The dry down is too amber and benzoyl. It makes me sick. I don't know where people got the idea to spray perfume on their clothing. That is not something early perfumers ever suggested as a good idea.

I'm sorry but these perfumes are overrated...I smelt it and tried it in the perfume shop and I was under impressed....to me it smells like hair spray....there's nothing sweet of fruity about it.
