as a graduate someone should really just focus on getting experience, and go for a job in group one. The more experience, the higher the chances of getting a group 2 or 3 job

Started in London 42k then 41k then 50k then got an offer at 60k after 5 years as Android Dev. got a MsC in CS in France. And I got 42k when I started from 5 yrs in France of J2EE in companies like Capgemini and Sopra Steria. Morality : Maybe I am bad at negotiating. Maybe IT is super oversold. It's a lot of work at the job and out the job to stay relevant if you count everything maybe you are earning close to the normal wage. Other people they work then they think about something else. They have a life. LOL omg lol. The only upside is the hope to create a side project that will make serious money.

Thanks for sharing. Agree that IT/tech salaries are over-glamorised.

    Hi Henry,
I also live in the UK, I want to become Java developer but before that do you think it would be better to learn First html, css and JS?
According to some jobs offers for developers here in England for Java developer or backend developers is desirable to know html, css and JS.
Not 100% this is the right path but we will see, but I would appreciate any suggestion on this Path that I just described.
    Thank you very much

Hey, yes I think having basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JS would help. You don’t need to be an expert if your focus is Java. GL

Interesting insights. I had a similar experience, in my first role as a graduate I started at 32.5k at Capgemini in London, 22 months later I am on 65k, I did this by switching jobs.
Now I'm in a position where in order to go up salary wise I would need to switch to FAANG type companies and this will require a lot of studying since my degree is in Mechanical Engineering and I am quite terrible when it comes to Data Structures & Algorithms :(

Thanks for sharing. Will definitely take some studying but very achievable if that’s what you want.

How difficult was it to secure your graduate job?

    • @Ishi_2023
      @Ishi_2023 2 месяца назад +1

@mychavadinglyopening8062 it takes grit and a genuine interest in what you want to get into. So long as you keep on learning and building stuff, eventually, you'll find someone that takes a chance on you.
But be wary, this isn't an easy process.

Hey! This depends on your current experience/knowledge. For a beginner, I would suggest:
      1. Pick a programming language.
      2. Find a free course on RUclips for that language.
      3. Do exercises/projects/leetcode questions. The r/learnprogramming subreddit is a great resource to check out too.
