Yeah but it worked though. That’s the best thing to about pro wrestling especially at my age where I understand how scripted the product is. What Rock was doing it was bringing a sense of reality to the product and it was must see tv for months

Rock had to do whatever he could to get a bit of heat, which lets be honest was never going to stick. People were happy to see Rock back, and they were really happy when he actually redeveloped his character instead of going through his greatest hits. They would have known he'd get cheered soon after turning heel like he was in 2003. It's hard at that stage in your career to actually get heat when the fans have so much respect for your tenture and they don't want to boo you. It worked out because Cody was so over.

Cody balances the line between work and shoot so well. There's no real animosity between Rock and Cody but he keeps mentioning it, just to drive the story further when The Rock comes back for him.

The deepest moment of this build-up for me was Hall of Fame night when Rock looked at Cody and said to him: "It's not business... IT'S PERSONAL!!"😤😤At that moment, I could not have felt more electricity run through me for WrestleMania than what happened there🤯🤯And at the end of Sunday night, IT WAS ALL ABSOLUTELY COMPLETELY WORTH IT!!!💯😃😃✊😎🤨
(This is all just my personal opinion)
What's funny and interesting to me is that HHH and the Rock in the later years of their careers have kinda switched roles.
In their prime HHH was one of the best heels in wrestling and Rock was one of the best baby faces.
However, at this stage in their careers Rock is way better at being an "evil authority figure" than HHH and HHH is way better at being a "man for and of the people" type of baby face.

I don't think Cody needs to feel bad about the LDS line. Cena was bigger with kids than anyone ever, and he routinely said stuff like that (and worse) in his feuds.

I’m loving that it’s not just about the huge guys anymore. Vince loved his big boys and now that it’s in Paul’s hands, the high flying and limber guys have a way better chance. Rock built himself up too much to just see him do a little. It was a great match on night one but a lot of it was him just walking through the crowd. It’s not the old him and he could never go back to that. Due to age and conflicts with other projects regarding his health. Can’t keep bringing back old talent just to see them go through the motions. It’s always fun to see them cut promos but push the guys who wrestle week after week. Give them a chance on the mic. Let them grow. I’m excited to see what the next ten years look like!
Nope. It was awesome and made wrestlemania awesome. It would not have eben close to what it was without Rock. People love to hate Rock, but he is awesome.

What is the term "non Canon"?
“Canon” means something is an accepted, true part of a story. For example, in Star Wars, all of the movies are considered canon. But a lot of the old comics and books from the 80’s and 90’s have been made non-canon after new stories overwrite them. Or Call of Duty. The three original Modern Warfare games are canon with each other, but are not canon with the Black Ops story.
Here, the Rock made it seem like Cody only had the two siblings when he did not mention his third, the sister. Making her not canon to the WWE storyline, even though she’s real.

All offense intended, Dwayne Johnson in no way should be allowed to hold a title in WWE again. That isn't dislike for him, it is the fact that at this stage of his career, the best thing he can do is put over people from now on. Yes, him and Roman winning that tag match night one of this year's Mania put Cody's accession over the top, but now Dwayne needs to do something he hasn't been doing in almost a decade: focus on movies and retirement from the squared circle.
Cody and the crybabies made Rock turn heel, it was best for business. Cody is now an officially made man. That would have happened regardless, but Rock gave him and the card a huge bump. Seth deserves a ton of Credit too, not to mention Roman and his epic run leading up to it.
The lead up to Mania was one of the best ever, standing shoulder to shoulder with anything they've ever done.
Rock was trying to replace him at WrestleMania.. he didn't do anything, but eventually admit the fans were correct..
