Also- tip for Libby (which is incredible) if you load up your book subscriptions on the kindle and then turn off the wifi and put it on airplane mode, the books stay past their due date until you turn the wifi back on. Fun little hack if you’re a slower reader or don’t get to all your loans in the time slot. ❤
I got my first kindle this year. I was hesitant I wouldn't like reading on a Kindle, but I desperately needed a waterproof version for 6+ weeks of travel. I opted for a refurbished (to save money in case I didn't like it) 2021 kindle paperwhite. It is perfection, and I've read more books in 3 months than I did in the previous 4 years. Kindle is genius!
I don’t know what they sprinkle on these Kindles but I read heaps more on a Kindle than printed books 😅 you gals from USA are so lucky with the unclaimedbaggage they unfortunately don’t ship to Australia 😢
@@Liam25025kindle unlimited is like $10 a month & most books are there. There’s also the library app she talked about. If you actually want to buy the book then it just depends on the book. A lot cheaper than physical books though
@eddym2679 it varies. Most of the ones that i pick up are less than £5 though and i also have kindle unlimited. Had never heard of Libby until this video but I'm gonna be giving that a try I think if it's available in the UK
THANK YOU for mentioning the basic Kindle. It took me so long to even learn that a basic version existed because I kept seeing ads and videos for the Paperwhite (please don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Paperwhite). I just wish that I had all of the information before purchasing. I know it's probably tempting to review the latest and greatest. It's hard to know which creators to trust and I really appreciate having you around to give us the facts-- not just what will sell well.
Why isn’t anyone talking about the Kindle Paperwhite Kids?! It’s the exact same as the 6.8 inch Kindle Paperwhite… it’s the EXACT same Kindle! It also comes with a case included, two year warranty instead of one, and comes with No ADs included at no extra cost. Best value for a Kindle ever, especially right now with it being on special for just $89 for everything, instead of $139! 😮❤🎉
does it have any downsides being that it’s for kids?? like do you have to manually unlock certain things bc of kids protections etc? or is it just literally like it’s not a kids one at all basically?
It’s the exact same kindle. The only thing that makes it a “kids” kindle is if you log in with a kids account. There are two versions for the “kids” kindle as well. (Basic & Paperwhite)
I vastly prefer the Paperwhite to the basic. I'm an avid traveler, so being waterproof is nice for beaches and pools. Also, I like to read before bed, so having the warm light is great. :)
Different perspective but I LOVE my kindle oasis. It’s the perfect size for me, I can read it while floating in the pool, and I really like the physical page turn buttons. I also prefer the space on the side - makes it super easy to hold and I find it far more comfortable to hold. I don’t like the price but it’s still going strong five years later!
The 2018 Paperwhite is still my model of choice. I do like some of the nice features of the new Kindles but it's basically the same thing as the latest Kindle basic. The great thing about these devices is that they last so long if you're nice to them, get a good case. Who needs to constantly upgrade?! The books are what matters. Good video, good recommendations.
I have the 2018 basic kindle and although it's served me well, I just upgraded today to the newer paperwhite. Was driving me crazy having to buy a separate micro usb charger for my old kindle cos i don't have anything else that uses it anymore. Can't wait for my new one to arrive tomorrow (literally ordered it this morning haha) it's gonna be so nice being able to charge all my stuff with the same cable instead of leaving my kindle dead for a few days until i can find the right cable to charge it with 😂
I JUST bought a Kindle Paperwhite Kids for $89. Even if you don’t find it at that low of a price, you can still save money because you don’t have to pay extra to disable ads, it comes with a case, it has a 2-year warranty instead of a 1-year, and is the exact same device as the “regular” Kindle Paperwhite. The “Kids” part is just in the software, so once you set it up, you go into the Kindle settings and disable the Kids profile.
I have the Oasis and I sure hope they're going to update it at some point because it is by far the best Kindle I have ever owned, and I have owned several of them (basic, Paperwhite and Voyage). The ergonomic shape, the light weight, the great size, the automatic rotation, brightness and screen temperature, and especially the buttons, make it the best. Dismissing it like you did at the beginning of your video is very strange and unfortunate for viewers watching this.
This was soooo helpful thank you so much! I’ve been doing a lot of research lately and was leaning towards the paper white but you’ve sold me on the basic!
Yep yep yep! You have confirmed my thoughts about buying the basic kindle. The basic kindle has dark mode which is very important for me as am Dyslexic and i easily get migraines on bright screens so dark mode helps me read more. Thank you for the in-depth review and recommendations for this!
I have the basic kindle from the 2019 release and LOVE it! I watched a review last year when I was purchasing and saw that it had less glare than the Paperwhite so that sold me since I do a lot of reading outside. It also fits in my lululemon belt bag, so it's peak portability!
I bought my new basic Kindle this year. I’ve been reading ebooks since forever. I’m an author and started with e publishing when the Rocketbook was the first ebook reader. I had been reading ebooks for several years on my iPad but wanted something lighter for carrying in my handbag.
I love my Kindle Paperwhite, especially the size as I prefer text size a little larger. It’s easy to toss in my mini backpack and I wouldn’t want to go any smaller. This is the 2nd one I’ve had. My old one lasted almost 8 years (actually it really still worked fine, battery life just slightly decreased). I do wish the paperwhite had the black word Kindle instead of grey! I’m very distractable and that minor detail catches my eye a lot. My old paperwhite it was black.
Honestly thank you so much for this video. You saved me from “upgrading” from my basic! Prime day was pressuring me to upgrade haha but I’m glad i saw this!
Great summary and I agree with you that the Basic Kindle is the best due to its size. It's just more ergonomic to hold. Must correct you though... it's not 300 dpi vs 600. It's actually 167 dpi (old Basic) vs. 300 dpi. And yes both Basic and PW now have 300 dpi.
I am an Oasis fan. I read in bed and really need a physical page turn button or I'm accidentally swiping pages. It is so beautifully thin but the bumped up side is needed to provide better grip and the orientation switches as I often change hands. I tried to go back to the paper white but the Oasis is far more comfortable for my needs and comfort is the #1 reason I use a Kindle over books.
Same! I still have my original 2015 Paperwhite, but I have only read a few books on it. It wasn’t until I bought the Oasis (plus a good cover) that I actually started to enjoy reading on a Kindle. I still prefer physical books, especially for reference materials or books where I want to really learn something on more than a superficial level, but I can now happily read 20+ books a year with my Oasis (and Libby).
4:00 ERROR- ‘Kindle (2022 release) is 300 dpi. Paperwhite (regular and signature) are also 300 dpi devices. Otherwise a helpful review from a happy reader.
i have the 2021 paper white and my bf has the 2023 kindle basic. i love my paperwhite and I carry it to work, beach, literally anywhere. the kindle basic is def smaller, purse-sized friendly but both are still great and we love reading on our devices together
I have heard alot that the new basic one having 300ppi, non flushed screen has sharper text than paperwhite 5. The flushed screen gives an impression of reading on tablet compared to basic one due to waterproof flushed screen covering the display. Is it true?
4:20 I don't know where you are getting 600 dpi from, but all the Kindles are 300 ppi (maybe PPI is the same as DPI I don't know). Just had a look on Amazon.
I’ve owned all 4-the basic, paperwhite, oasis, and scribe. I’ve bought the oasis when there was a sale for $150. I used the oasis more than the others. Must be the page turn buttons that I like. I didn’t like the basic because there’s no backlight. They all serve different purpose.
I use the 3rd Generation Kindle from 2010 and until it dies a slow death, that will always be my fave. I say that having tried the newer versions. ❤ With that said, I appreciate Amazon's trade-in program. Update: Also, Libby + Hoopla are amazing, with that plus Kindle Unlimited is golden.
Same. I've even replaced the display on my gen 3 to keep it going. Thinking about getting a new one only because I'd love a backlight, but I'm not totally sold.
WOW!!! I just received the Kindle 2022 that you recommended and I have to say that you are right on the money like always!!!! I love it. You are worth your weight in gold!!! Everything I have ever purchased based on your recommendations (including your fabulous candles), is spot on!!! Out of everyone I follow on YT, IG, TT, you are far the best influencer out on social media!!! I am so glad that I found you many, many years ago and to see your channel grow is just proof on what good content you share with your followers!!! Keep up the good work and thank you for your hard work and effort!
Something I’ve notice with the Libby books, if you have the book open on your kindle, even if it’s been “returned” to the library, you can still read it!
I got the navy basic kindle a few months ago when Amazon was running a trade in (not sure if they still do that?) and I got the new kindle for like $50! I definitely agree the basic is the best for the portability alone!
I love my Kindle Oasis so what if it dies put it on the charger before going to bed. My oasis last me about 2 weeks to 4 weeks. I own every single kindle and I still prefer my oasis
I literally just went to Amazon to look at a Kindle and thought, Kristina has one, I’ll go see which one she has and you posted a video on the subject! You are reading my mind! Thanks for the video
Wow... Completely disagree on the Oasis. Page turning buttons are SO nice. It's still small, and I love the extra width as a handhold for where the buttons are. It's perfect. I also love that you can make the screen a "warm" color. So much easier on the eyes than white on black or black on white. I will say, though, that if the Kindle Basic, as you call it, had the warm-lighting feature, I would buy it. That's the only must-have missing. buttons are great, but I can (reluctantly) live without them for the smaller size. Maybe. I'm tempted to get a Basic and try it out, but I think I had one a long time ago and ended up returning it for the Oasis. Also, I've just learned about an Onyx Boox Page, which is basically a better Oasis. It doesn't have the build quality of the Oasis, but it has buttons and a much faster processor - and it runs Android, so you get all that with it. Sounds about perfect. If you can find one. Amazon doesn't have them. But I managed to find one on Best Buy. Gonna be a long few days waiting for it...
Finally! Look, here is the thing: unless you're reading graphic novels on your kindle, better lights, better screen doesn't matter. The best part of a kindle, I believe, is the convenience and portability. To be able to read several books at a time, and whenever and wherever. The basic kindle does all that. I always had a paperwhite with me simply because then the basic kindle did not come with a light and I didn't want to buy the super expensive lamp-covers from amazon. Now that the basic kindle comes with its own light, I tried it and can't imagine going back. It slides perfectly into my jeans pocket, and i have been able to read so much more because of that. So, honestly, getting any other kindle is a waste of money. Much like how our eyes and brain gets used to varying screens on our phones and refresh rates, you won't think about what you're missing out (a bigger screen or better light) once you use the kindle for a while. So, instead of giving into FOMO, just get the basic kindle and spend more money on books.
Hot take: this video should be titled “Which Kindle Should Kristina Braly Buy in 2023?” because it’s 100% wrong for me. In my experience, the Oasis is the best Kindle (for me). I’m putting my thoughts here (a novel lol) in case anyone needs a more complete idea of every Kindle currently available. Maybe the Oasis is for you, too. I started with the original Paperwhite, but I wanted something with a warm light for reading at night. I upgraded to the Oasis in 2021 but still have my old Paperwhite as a backup. I’ll admit, I did NOT like the asymmetrical look (let alone paying more for it). I believe it was the only Kindle with warm light, though, at the time. So I pulled the trigger for the sake of improving my sleep hygiene. I absolutely LOVE my Oasis. I still don’t love the asymmetrical look, but since I have a super-cute cover, I only “see” the asymmetry when I’m using it, which is when the Oasis really shines (and I actually appreciate the asymmetry). Maybe my experience is influenced by the cover I have, and maybe I would find a different cover (or none at all) annoying to hold. The way I have it set up, the Oasis is SO much more comfortable to hold than my Paperwhite (and my iPad). Yes, it costs more, but it’s not like you buy a Kindle every year. My 2015 Paperwhite is still going strong (coincidentally, that’s around the time I found this channel). I’ve had my Oasis for 2+ years, and theres currently nothing better on the market, apparently. For me, I’m happy to pay a little extra for features that suit me. Completely dismissing the Oasis because of a personal bias makes this video feel incomplete. It just doesn’t feel comprehensive or even technical. I could maybe understand still not recommending the Oasis, but it wasn’t included in the video at all except for trashing it. For me, the physical buttons are so much better (and faster) than swiping on the screen (plus I find it easier to go back and forth using buttons than swiping = no more mis-swipes). People struggling with dexterity, whether that’s due to arthritic pain or a disability, may find swiping impossible or frustrating. For a channel that talks a lot (mostly?) about luxury, I found the comment about price especially surprising. I clicked on this video because I thought maybe there was a newer model that has some new feature I’d like. That’s not the case. It seems like the focus of this video is on the cheaper models BECAUSE they are cheaper. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, it’s not for everyone…and it’s especially surprising for this channel.
I agree with you for some points; she didn’t have to recommend the Oasis but she could have gone through it’s features. Personally I find the Oasis needs an update (fingers cross this year) as the 2021 PW has ALL the features minus the buttons. If they update it to be faster, better battery life, USB-C charging, maybe an annotating pen and annotation on the page I would definitely go an Oasis, but as of right now the 2021 pw has the features minus the buttons.
I agree. I also have a kobo, but I really love the compact form of the kindle basic. Also, I’m not sure what it is, but it seems like the kindle basic is easier on my eyes then other ones.
It’s because in order to waterproof the paperwhite they put a thin lamination sheet over the screen but it then has a bit of glare that the basic does not
I miss my Oaisis. I lost it during moving. But I was able to pick up a 7th Gen Paperwhite. Brand new. Seems pretty nice. Good screen size compared to the oasis. This is a great video. Make sure ya get kindle unlimited folks. We'll worth $11.99 a month. Now subbin
I absolutely love the 'realness' of this review. I would like to get a new kindle, and after watching this thought I might get the small one except .... I am really looking for a model that has DARK MODE. I have a 2015 paperwhite, and a 2017 Oasis (the 1st gen, actually). Both are still viable options, with the Oasis having the Audible content available on it as well. But, I agree with your opinion on it, and I'd never get that one again. I never really liked the wonky charging cover thingy, anyway. I DO like the manual page turn buttons, however, and like that you can rotate it to use right or left handed. The paperwhite does show very very faint smoke bleeds from the bottom, so I think it's just gotten a lot of use and is a bit tired. :) But despite that, I still like reading on it better than the Oasis. I just wish the little one had Dark Mode available. Thanks again for the honest review!
I still use my paperwhite from 2012 and it works great although a little slow. I was going to get a new paperwhite maybe in the next year or two but the original kindle was nowhere in my radar. Now I don’t know which to get maybe eventually. Thank you so the info I appreciate the comparison
Thanks for mentioning Libby! I've been using it for years to listen to audiobooks for free. I usually have to renew my books and, most of the time, am able to do so without issues.
Great video. But, here’s a few corrections: Previous Kindle Paperwhite has 300 ppi and the previous Kindle Basic had 167 poipiNew Kindle Paperwhite 11 gen still has 300 ppi, but the newest Kindle basic has now 300 ppi.
Thank you so much for making this video, bc I want a Kindle, but didn't have a clue where to start. Great to know about the Basic, bc I'm on an extreme budget. Thank you so so much for sharing, I appreciate it! 😘🤗
I have the 2019 basic in white and just upgraded to the agave green paperwhite and it is so much faster. I'm keeping my basic for on the go and traveling. saved £49.99 on it on prime day 😀
I have both kindle too! I tried to convince myself to love the paper white signature edition... but I am still keeping with me always in my purse the old kindle basic... Its so much better its size... I am really struggling with the kinde paper white signature edition size, it's much heavier and big for my little hand. I am using the paper white in home and the basic everywhere I go to..😅🥰Love both of them but the basic edition grab my heart
I'll use my Oasis until it dies. I love it so much. I tried using the USBC Paperwhite but I gave it to my mom and went back to my Oasis. I try to read one handed. Only the Oasis is comfortable that way. I love having the buttons. The form factor is perfect for one-handed use. I bought the cellular model off eBay in 2020 and have never regretted it. Having tried the newest Paperwhite, I still go back.
I love my Kindle Unlimited membership and read on my laptop while I’m eating lunch 😁 I have bought several Kindles as well as a Nook back in the day and have found I don’t love them for reading as much as I do for TV watching. I’m so strange because I inhale books - both paper in the past and on my phone now! I don’t know what it is but I just don’t love reading on them.
I have the basic I bought it because when I did the comparison it had many of the same features as the white. I wanted something small to travel with, so it’s perfect .
I LOVE my Paperwhite 2017. I'm looking at the new one is for the USB C charging and the lighting is supposed to be better/better on the eyes. I prefer the smaller size over the new Paperwhite with the 6.8 inch screen. But that could change if I were to see it in person. I ended up buying a cheap used Paperwhite for work so the one at home stays there because I use the app or I'd just take the one from home if I need to. I keep the Paperwhite in my cart waiting for it to go on sale but if the Basic, which is basically the last gen Paperwhite, goes on sale first or for really cheap in comparison, I'll probably pick that one up instead. I really want USB C charging, haha.
I have the Sony e-reader. It’s so old but it definitely went everywhere with me. I still have it (in my coffee table basket). Then along came IBooks, and I am still using iBooks and my poor Sony reader is still resting in that same spot. But I miss it and have been thinking about getting the kindle myself. I do have a kindle app downloaded on my phone. But not the same thing. I have so many digital books that I had to download all into a USB drive, lol. I do have novels, but just the ones I want to collect.
That stupid handlebar is what I like about the Oasis. I found I wasn't changing my hand position when I upgraded (as well as just using my thumb for the page buttons). I think the balance and form is really good for holding in one hand and reading. I got the Oasis when it was the only Kindle that had warm light (a feature I was looking for reading in the dark). The main disavantage for the Oasis in 2023 is that it hasn't had an update in awhile, and is expensive. Being an owner, the only main grip I have is the micro USB port: it's not easy to plug in the USB cord, and it would also be great if it was USB-C.
I worked at Barnes & Noble for many years, so I had a Nook e-reader. I can't get it to turn on anymore, so I'm looking into the Kindle paperwhite. I still buy books, but I buy/read fiction books on the reader to not take up too much of the physical space at home. At least until I get a separate office space. 😊
Nook was my first ever Ebook reader and I loved it, lasted forever. Even when I didn’t use it for years it still turned on and worked perfectly. I had all my ebooks in a microSD card. If I could get ebooks easier on a Nook without a computer I’d go that route again and I love the baby pink 😍
I will get the Scribe when all books can be scribbled on, to mimic how i annotate physical books (I paste sticky notes on the pages and scribble on them).
Also, the Kindle basic is the least expensive and with Amazon’s planned obsolescence of the Kindle line (the battery is non-removeable or repairable by Amazon or you)… Best to buy the cheapest version… it’ll be like you’re buying an expensive plastic book every few years…
Thank you for this content. I, too, am an OG white w/a keyboard Kindle 2nd gen girl. By far, it's still my favorite Kindle I've ever owned. I still have it even though it no longer works. I still mourn it a bit, crazy, I realize.😢 I think I've had 4 Kindles now. Currently, I use the 2022, Signature Paperwhite and I do like it. But, it's not white, no keyboard (I guess outdated technology). It is good. It fits in almost all of my purses. I frequently take it even if I don't read it. Always goes to doctor appointments anywhere I have to wait. 📚 Keep up this kind of content, please!😊
I work in social care and have a client who is paralysed, he’d very much like to read a kindle but control it handsfree he doesn’t want audio just to navigate pages and select books handsfree..is this a thing for kindle?
I ❤ my Oasis!!! I have had three Paperwhites in the past. From the original one to the 10th gen. They were awesome, except for the fact that the power button is placed on the bottom of the Kindle 😮 Constantly hitting the button on accident, turning the Kindle Reader off and on multiple times in one reading session. Frustrated, I purchased the Oasis and have no regrets. I also own two Nooks,a Simple Touch and Glowlight 4 (pink edition) which has page turn buttons that are great. The Glowlight 4 is a nice alternative to the Kindle. However, I am going to get a Kobo Libra Colour. Like the Scribe but in Oasis form. Wonderful for annotation.
I have a Kindle from years ago and I really liked using it. I think I would use a Kindle again if I bought a new one. The new features would be worth the upgrade to me. I saw Amazon does a trade-in program, so I think I'll try that. Then I saw there is a kid's Kindle, so that's on my list for my kids once they know how to read.
Woah awesome video! I’ve been on the fence about getting a kindle, but this video really helped! The basic Kindle seems like the perfect fit for me As a college student since I carry around a backpack with my laptop and the textbooks needed for my classes which already make my backpack heavy haha and I like to read on my free time but I struggle fit personal books in my backpack. So the basic kindle would work perfectly for me. Thank you for the suggestion and info! Awesome video!🤗
Each link takes me to your Amazon page and not the item itself so I’m still trying to get to search which kindle is which. Can you like directly to the product and not just your amazon store page?
Thank you for making this video! This is my first viewing experience from you (came from a short about picking the best kindle) and I love your demeanor, how to the point the video is, and that neck scarf!! ❤❤❤ Subscribed!
The amazon kindle option "offers" to remove publicity if I add another twenty bucks, is he for real? I buy a 120 dollars product and I have to endure the shoving of products at anychance, I cannot believe this mess.
I cant speak for the basic, but i find that the paperwhite is the best for reading, and the Scribe is the best for studying, note taking, PDF's and such, and also works great for reading but is not quite as comfortable and the paperwhite. I use my scribe every day, every time I need to do any note taking and reading.
Thank you! I've been reading on a Kindle Fire for years. It's heavy and the battery runs out so quickly. I just ordered the Kindle basic. I can't wait to read Sarah J Maas on it! :)
I am absolutely mad that Amazon didn't make a white version of new basic Kindle :( I got old version, want a new with 300 dpi and type-c, but I'm so sad, that they have only black and denim colors.
I just purchased the Kindle your recommended and I checked your store front for the matte screen protector that fits this Kindle and I can't find it. Can you share the matte protector you would recommend? Thank you!
A Kindle Basic is definitely going to be under my Xmas tree in a few weeks. My first Kindle was the original Fire; which is still functional, but the display is discoloring. Loved it, because it was basically a reader with some tablet functions. Earlier this year I bought a newer Fire (7th gen) from Woot at a very low price, expecting to like it the same. To my dismay, I discovered that because it was a tablet with the Kindle app, it was slow, balky, and less pleasant to use than that original Fire. For instance, when it sleeps, it burns energy, unlike my old Fire. It's taken to denying me access to books I've bought. Have to start up from scratch every time. Grrrrr... So I think I'll give the Kindle Basic a try. P.S. got the Kindle Basic in the nick of time. That crappy 7" Fire just died on me.
Omg thank you!
Related tip, you can actually keep it forever if you use Libby's download feature and then use an online converter to strip off the timed DRM.

I got my first kindle this year. I was hesitant I wouldn't like reading on a Kindle, but I desperately needed a waterproof version for 6+ weeks of travel. 😮❤🎉
Right!!
Where is it for that price?
does it have any downsides being that it’s for kids?? like do you have to manually unlock certain things bc of kids protections etc? or is it just literally like it’s not a kids one at all basically?
It’s the exact same kindle. The only thing that makes it a “kids” kindle is if you log in with a kids account. There are two versions for the “kids” kindle as well. (Basic & Paperwhite)
I think that she’s just speaking of models and PW kids as you said is just a PW
I vastly prefer the Paperwhite to the basic. I'm an avid traveler, so being waterproof is nice for beaches and pools. Also, I like to read before bed, so having the warm light is great. :)

I agree 100%. I also love the cellular.

Yep! I love the Oasis!
I just wrote a novel of a comment, lmao, but yes…I agree 100%! The Oasis is the best Kindle for me.
Love my Oasis too!! The buttons are a must have for me.
The 2018 Paperwhite is still my model of choice. I do like some of the nice features of the new Kindles but it's basically the same thing as the latest Kindle basic.
The “Kids” part is just in the software, so once you set it up, you go into the Kindle settings and disable the Kids profile.
where did you get it for that price ?
@@Le4end it was an early Prime Day deal on Amazon about 2 weeks ago!
Thank you!!!

Agreed! Love the Oasis!
Exactly. all it needs is usbc charging. I don't get the Oasis hate🤷🏿
Similar to Libby is Hoopla! It’s linked to your library card as well, but has more than books.
This was soooo helpful thank you so much! I’ve been doing a lot of research lately and was leaning towards the paper white but you’ve sold me on the basic!
I love my Oasis, the physical page turn buttons are amazing.
Came here to say this exact thing. I can’t go back to a kindle without physical page turn buttons.
Do you ever read at the pool or beach? How risky is it near water?
What's the dimensions of the one you have? :) Do you have a link?
Honestly thank you so much for this video. You saved me from “upgrading” from my basic! Prime day was pressuring me to upgrade haha but I’m glad i saw this!
Great summary and I agree with you that the Basic Kindle is the best due to its size. It's just more ergonomic to hold. Must correct you though... it's not 300 dpi vs 600. It's actually 167 dpi (old Basic) vs. 300 dpi. And yes both Basic and PW now have 300 dpi.
Yes, I corrected myself in the video description
Same.
I really wish they offered the paperwhite in the smaller size! I got it for the waterproof & warmth settings but I wish it was smaller
The new basic does have a backlight and a night mode and they both work perfectly fine
Are they still updating your Kindle?
That's such a beautiful comment thank you for sharing your experience with her. Subscribed now
Something I’ve notice with the Libby books, if you have the book open on your kindle, even if it’s been “returned” to the library, you can still read it!
If you have your wifi off you can continue to read till your finish
I bought the kindle paper white signature bc of your recommendation in 2022. No regrets . I love it so much
Can I ask you if you had to recommend an iPhone right now , what would it be ?
May I ask why you chose the Signature over just the standard PW?
@@Nikkilodean19 to be honest I can’t remember but based on this video seems like the original is more than suitable
I got the navy basic kindle a few months ago when Amazon was running a trade in (not sure if they still do that?) and I got the new kindle for like $50! I definitely agree the basic is the best for the portability alone!
They do still do it i just traded in my 2018 paperwhite for the signature paperwhite 2023.
I love my Kindle Oasis so what if it dies put it on the charger before going to bed. My oasis last me about 2 weeks to 4 weeks. I own every single kindle and I still prefer my oasis
That's great I'm so happy for you! I wish I loved mine more - it was so dang expensive!!!
A dyslexic font!!! What?!? That’s so amazing. Thanks for sharing. I love this type of content.
There are a few out there depending on the type of dyslexia one has
I love my Oasis
Like the size, the buttons for page turners
Love my Oasis!!! Actually returned the Paperwhite in favor of it!
The kindle basic does have dark mode.
I still use my paperwhite from 2012 and it works great although a little slow. I was going to get a new paperwhite maybe in the next year or two but the original kindle was nowhere in my radar. Now I don’t know which to get maybe eventually. Thank you so the info I appreciate the comparison
Kindle HDX 7, got 10 years ago and works like a charm!!
Thanks for mentioning Libby! I've been using it for years to listen to audiobooks for free. I usually have to renew my books and, most of the time, am able to do so without issues.
If you haven’t finished a book turn off your wifi and it won’t return it till you turn it back on
Great video. But, here’s a few corrections: Previous Kindle Paperwhite has 300 ppi and the previous Kindle Basic had 167 poipiNew Kindle Paperwhite 11 gen still has 300 ppi, but the newest Kindle basic has now 300 ppi.
Thank you!!! I was so confused because I never heard of a kindle paperwhite with 600 ppi. 😂
Why are her kindles white? Where do I get one like that?
Would love to see a video with reviews of other e-readers like the nook!
Thank you so much for making this video, bc I want a Kindle, but didn't have a clue where to start. Great to know about the Basic, bc I'm on an extreme budget. Thank you so so much for sharing, I appreciate it! 😘🤗
Just getting back into reading & this video definitely made me take the decision on the 2022 basic model
I love the kindle oasis the screen is much nicer then the paperwhite and in my opinion worth the extra money for a nicer screen and physical buttons.
I have the 2019 basic in white and just upgraded to the agave green paperwhite and it is so much faster. I'm keeping my basic for on the go and traveling. saved £49.99 on it on prime day 😀
Amazon says they’re all 300 ppi. Are these older ones?
Have you read at least ten books on it? When I first got my Ebook reader I had to get used to it
I have the basic I bought it because when I did the comparison it had many of the same features as the white.
I completely agree with your comment about the white Kindle. I miss my gen 2 so much.
I don’t even have a Kindle yet but I would love color e ink. Seriously.
I will get the Scribe when all books can be scribbled on, to mimic how i annotate physical books (I paste sticky notes on the pages and scribble on them).
On the Kindle Basic, can you switch between “time left in chapter” or “time left in book” on the bottom left by just tapping?
Good review, my older kindle just died looking for a new one cheers Vancouver Island
Perfect timing as I was looking into getting one!
I have the 7th gen paper white and my favourite scribe, not that I write but the screen size and settings makes it my favourite.
I still use my old gen 3 kindle, but they are tempting me right now with -30% on prime days..........
I ❤ my Oasis!!!
I have had three Paperwhites in the past.
From the original one to the 10th gen.
They were awesome, except for the fact that the power button is placed on the bottom of the Kindle 😮
Constantly hitting the button on accident, turning the Kindle Reader off and on multiple times in one reading session.
Love the paper white one. The Libby app and kindle unlimited are both great.
I bought the basic and I love it so much. It’s so portable and light it’s my fav.
Yes! Couldn’t agree more. You will love it!! xx
Thanks Kristina. I've had my Kindle since 2014 and think it might be time to get a new one.
which kindle models that can be used with just 1 hand?
Each link takes me to your Amazon page and not the item itself so I’m still trying to get to search which kindle is which. Can you like directly to the product and not just your amazon store page?
Which variant supports listening to audiobooks?
I would love a kindle with color display
Thank you for making this video! This is my first viewing experience from you (came from a short about picking the best kindle) and I love your demeanor, how to the point the video is, and that neck scarf!! ❤❤❤ Subscribed!
you can return/ask for refunds on ebooks! even with audible and audiobooks!
I just bought the Kindle Basic and it is def a Paperwhite killer 😂
Love my Kindle Scribe.
I have both the Scribe and Paperwhite. I mostly bring my Paperwhote if I go out but I really love my Scribe cause it's so big
I just purchased the Kindle your recommended and I checked your store front for the matte screen protector that fits this Kindle and I can't find it. Can you share the matte protector you would recommend? Thank you!
You might have to search it’s not as easy to find it’s a film one not a glass one
Kindles default to an irritating yellow screen. Are any of them pure white?
you can fortunately turn the warm light off - if it has one! the kindle basic has no warmth light
@kristinabraly So what does that do?
Can you see a word’s meaning and definition in Kindle Basic?
Kindle vs iPad mini review?
Im not finding the links for the skins. Am I completely blind? haha!
Oops you’re right let me add those real quick!
Loved this, everything looks beautiful 😊
If you are getting nearsighted you will want to enlarge the text, you will want a bigger screen
Sold on the basic. Thank you!
Do kindle paperwhite screen collect more fingerprints than the basic?
Good comparison, but the amount of jump cuts bothers me.
Thanks I hate it
I love the Libby app!!! It is so convenient
