guys this product is great. thanks for making this little reviews for us. this way of thinking about drumming is great, not only by teaching cool chops and beats, the gadgets and new products is what (sometimes) we need to move forward. most of the time we forget about our feet and what we can do with them.
+Remko v.d. Wielen Exactly, you still wouldn't be able to change this in the middle of a song, and if you really need two change between to songs its no problem if you have the tools ready.
+Remko v.d. Wielen I would recommend trying it out before making any snap judgements. You may be surprised at how this can really trigger you to play something new. And anything that inspires me to get on the kit and play is a good thing in my books. Thanks for the feedback though!
Drumeo I don't know man, imagine that thing coming off while playing a show.. If you're really into changing bassdrum sounds I highly suggest adding another (different size) bassdrum,as a lot of other drummers do.
I would buy it just for the brush beater. That thing sounds awesome. Admittedly, at the beginning of the video I was like, "come on, are you serious? It's not that much of a pain to swap out beaters..." But now I'm sold. Kinda cool.
maybe a good question to ask the sound man, if your playing a gig that has some ballads , would he prefer this instead of adjusting your sound for certain songs, you could try it out during sound check.
I'm a thirteen year old drummer and I've been playing for ten years. I'm playing things like rossana by toto, fool in the rain by left zepplin, (which are both based off the Purty shuffle), roundabout by yes, some Santana, some nirvana, some foo fighters (love Dave ghrol), and some Boston. do you have an idea on what I should play next??? I've grown up in a musical family and for my first drum set at age three. love watching your videos, James.
+anarchisttomato thank you man... I've been looking for something new and I'll check those songs out! I've also been playing along with some chili peppers and a few other bands.
My two cents on this product: it's very much a niche product within an already very niche market. Me personally I'll stick to a standard hard-spun felt beater, and if I need a different, softer sound for jazz, I take a wool sock and secure it with a rubber band. If I need a more staccato sound, I'll just bury the beater (since my pedal technique is to play out of the bass drum, with the beater un-buried). With that said I definitely can see the uses for such a product and if this kind of product is something you can find some use for, definitely buy it. Clearly the person who designed this product has run into this issue before (otherwise he wouldn't have designed it in the first place), which means if one person had the issue that this solves, there are many more with the same thing.
I really like the idea of being able to switch the beaters really quickly. however, how often does it really happen, that one switches the genres of music that one plays from song to song? especially live. but besides that, great idea.
+MelsBlogMusic Well, this opens the way for a whole bunch of different ways you could play things. I believe there's also a drumstick attachment, which could allow you to have things like foot operated snare drums and things like that, which could also help people with disabilities.
+Crimson Sunrise sure. that could really be helpful. all I'm saying is, that I personally think, that for my style of playing it would be a bit useless, because I personally do not need to switch food pedals that often as it is. But sure, it could really be helpful to other people and different styles of playing, if that is what you want to do.
i think this would be better if the holder was universal so you could already use your fave beaters rather than buying a bunch of theirs, or is that the case already?
Anyone know the product Jared is using on his music stand to hold his sheet music in place? (The small black 'fingers' at the top of each sheet of music) It looks like it might just be gaffe tape.
The beater you said that would be good for metal drummers with a lot of definition and attack, how heavy is that beater? I have a 9000 double pedal with the stock dw beaters. Was wondering the weight difference between the stock dw and this specific beater ?
+Diogo Almeida its a beater. it has a stick and a beater and as i now you cant remove the stick from other brands beater. if you think you cant actualy make semi-adapter. If beaters from other brands could be unmounted from the stick then it would be a diffrent story.
Is this an actual problem with bass drums? I've been drumming for 20+ years and one of the great things about beaters is the adjustments to get it just right, this products to me is kind of dumb but that's just me, what do you guys think? Is this a necessary product?
Hey Jared, I'm wondering what in ears you wearing..?? I currently use Shure SE535's. Great sound, great isolation. Besides better sound, would custom molded IEM provide better isolation..?? Thanks..
I mean, its really not necessarily that difficult or time consuming to change beaters, I think if you can make it so you never have to physically touch the beater to change it, that would be the killer there.
+Jakup-_-LedZeppelin Check out that snare tuning video they did a while back with the "greatest snare tuning ever" or whatever, I really love that method, and I recommend it
+Jakup-_-LedZeppelin Sounds like you are having an issue with something called "sympathetic buzz". Does it happen more when you hit a certain tom? In some cases, it's impossible to get rid of.
Hi Jared could you give me your personal opinion about the Yamaha Beater (first one on video), it has a good balance & weight ? I'm a rock-pop drummer and I'm looking for attack and response as well. Thanks.
+Javier Peñaloza Yes, I love that beater. I really like that one, as well as the Tama Iron Cobra beater (not the one from the Speedcobras, those suck).
The advantage of that is that you can use one beater and use each of the four sides, however the disadvantage being you have to get your key out to unlock and re-tighten at each turn. This device would require 2 twin heads (minimum) to replicate the different tone options but you could change them ‘on the fly’ with one hand in a trice. For me, I don’t see me needing more than two beater styles for my current set list so a single, double-faced standard key beater will suffice. Not a 100% must-have but like cowbells etc, some drummers’ repertoires cry out for an add-on, or efficient way to quickly role-change.
I can feel a Christmas present to me coming... :D I actually can't believe that you can get this for just $60 though! WOW! (And then with something like another $40 per extra beater) ...Really appreciate you sharing this. (Even if I don't get it this year I will store it away in the back of my mind until I buy it) :P
Mordekhai Kevin Just wondering but do you play guitar or bass? I couldn't tell based of your avatar pic. :P I always like seeing drummers who are multi-instrumental. Proves we are more then metronomes. :)
Lord Queezle i play bass too broo. but drum still my queen! xD we are more than just a metronome dude. if there is no drummer, you wont find a good groove.
It took 8 seconds for you to switch the first beater and you were in no hurry. My guess is, you can buy different beaters and switch them out Almaty as fast. Go idea, just not too many guys really needing it.
I had this idea 40 years ago, just never knew how to make it happen. if you have an good idea make it happen! or you'll be watching from the sidelines.
this is interesting, but can't you play without the click? this isn't a lesson so why use the click? it was really annoying and makes it hard to watch the video.
+kenneth kunie You're right, I should've had that turned off. Sorry about that, I hope you can still make it through the video without your ears bleeding.
+Drumeo I did make it through without any ear damage. I like this idea very much but after looking at the price I don't think I will be getting it anytime soon. the whole setup would cost nearly $250.00 even if I only bought the attachments I would use your still looking at $150.00 which translates into 4 sets of heads and a bundle of sticks.
guys this product is great. thanks for making this little reviews for us. this way of thinking about drumming is great, not only by teaching cool chops and beats, the gadgets and new products is what (sometimes) we need to move forward. most of the time we forget about our feet and what we can do with them.

Great solution for a non-exsisting problem..
+Remko v.d. Wielen Exactly, you still wouldn't be able to change this in the middle of a song, and if you really need two change between to songs its no problem if you have the tools ready.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
+Remko v.d. Wielen I mean if you're into unidimensional playing you're absolutely right...
+Remko v.d. Wielen I would recommend trying it out before making any snap judgements. You may be surprised at how this can really trigger you to play something new. And anything that inspires me to get on the kit and play is a good thing in my books. Thanks for the feedback though!

loved the brush beater
OMG. Imagine these used with the Duallist M4 pedal.
This is super freaking cool actually. Very Innovative!!
Great video & great tip Jared !
The brush attachment surprised me. Didn't expect it to sound that good lol.
Definitely has a unique/interesting sound.
me too. i thought it just gunna make some stupid sound. but, heck yeah! thats awesome
he's so good
Right?
+Douglas tinotenda banda That's what your mom said, too ;)
+Rastard12345 I've never met his Mom.
lol! Drumeo
Cool stuff... saves you having to modify the equalization of bass drum in the same gig when you played diferent styles of songs. Thanks Jared!!!
Thats a pretty sick piece of gear =D
maybe a good question to ask the sound man, if your playing a gig that has some ballads , would he prefer this instead of adjusting your sound for certain songs, you could try it out during sound check.

+anarchisttomato thank you man... I've been looking for something new and I'll check those songs out! I've also been playing along with some chili peppers and a few other bands.
It's called the afro beater, (or it should be called that).
+iopklmification Nice, I did not know that.
I may have been not 100% serious in my first comment :)
+iopklmification Haha!
+Drumeo For Afro Beats!
really like the one you said was great for metal. great vid as usual drumeo
that's actually awesome!
Awesome Add on!
Revolutionary I love it. Will make things easier. Thanks for sharing!

Damn, Jared you pretty good!
This is an amazing idea!!

anything to broading our options in drumming is a good one I think :) i can find quite a few uses for it already
That's looks really useful. I might buy some
hahah i have never seen a brush beater before. pretty cool product
this is a great invention!
OR- you could just use a trigger and tap a pad mounted by the hihat to change the sound/patch like most drummers that play on stage do.
woooow great solution ... this is MUST have it!!!
Wait wait wait......a bass drum BRUSH?!?! Mind = blown
That's awesome !!
Awesome!
never saw it...Great friend!
i think this would be better if the holder was universal so you could already use your fave beaters rather than buying a bunch of theirs, or is that the case already?
Nice. gotta get one.
Anyone know the product Jared is using on his music stand to hold his sheet music in place? (The small black 'fingers' at the top of each sheet of music) It looks like it might just be gaffe tape.
tell me the name of the plastic on the bass drum?
very nice idea.
The beater you said that would be good for metal drummers with a lot of definition and attack, how heavy is that beater? I have a 9000 double pedal with the stock dw beaters. Was wondering the weight difference between the stock dw and this specific beater ?
Will these work with dual beater set ups?
thank you again....
maybe you can post some reviews on your fav sound activated led's ?
What kind of kick pedal is that ?
Looks awesome
Awesome Presentation....#ThumbsUp!
Interesting product! Do they make any semi-adapter to adapt this system to other brand beaters?
+Diogo Almeida its a beater. it has a stick and a beater and as i now you cant remove the stick from other brands beater. if you think you cant actualy make semi-adapter. If beaters from other brands could be unmounted from the stick then it would be a diffrent story.

very intelligent!!
What kind of shoes are those?
Thank you very much
wheres your other kit

Where are these available?
Which drum are u using Jared?
Do you use the heel-toe technique for the fast Bonham triplets?
if you mean the doubles when he put the heavy clicky beater on, yes he did. You can see it quite clearly
loks realy cool and sounds greate. going to cehk if my local store have this.
Nice beard
That is cool.
Hey drumeo.
I think my snare wires sound way to loud.
What can i do??
+Jakup-_-LedZeppelin Check out that snare tuning video they did a while back with the "greatest snare tuning ever" or whatever, I really love that method, and I recommend it
+Dino Asbury Did Drumeo Upload it?
+Jakup-_-LedZeppelin Sounds like you are having an issue with something called "sympathetic buzz". Does it happen more when you hit a certain tom? In some cases, it's impossible to get rid of.
+Drumeo No not buzz.... The snare just takes over the snare sound. Maybe its the room idk..????
+Jakup-_-LedZeppelin The snare just takes over the snare sound? You must provide a video so I can hear that :)
Great idea but my Pearl Eliminator double pedal came with a beater that has 4 sides; 2 felt and 2 plastic, all with different sounds.
The advantage of that is that you can use one beater and use each of the four sides, however the disadvantage being you have to get your key out to unlock and re-tighten at each turn. we share the same problem bro. :)
Mordekhai Kevin Just wondering but do you play guitar or bass? I couldn't tell based of your avatar pic. :P
I always like seeing drummers who are multi-instrumental. Proves we are more then metronomes. :)
Lord Queezle i play bass too broo. but drum still my queen! xD we are more than just a metronome dude. if there is no drummer, you wont find a good groove.
Mordekhai Kevin Bass is just as important. :) Lose either the bass or drums and you don't have a foundation for the band. :) Keep jamming!
Noticed the heel toe technique
Amazing!!! It`s easy!!
It took 8 seconds for you to switch the first beater and you were in no hurry. My guess is, you can buy different beaters and switch them out Almaty as fast.
Go idea, just not too many guys really needing it.
Brush beater sounds like playing ghost notes on the bass drum...
lol is that even a thing XD Ghost notes on bass drums
Austin Myers Well I'm a total shit
No you're not. Just keep practicing.
You're probably better than me.
Austin Myers K thnxxx
I'm suprised on how the brush beater sound, I expected it to be inaudible.
Drummers will buy anything.
tek ijeh ngono ? dak ga iso ngeswing ?
Muito bom Parabéns!
I had this idea 40 years ago, just never knew how to make it happen. if you have an good idea make it happen! or you'll be watching from the sidelines.
buy ahead drumsticks!
Nice
Off topic but do you bleach your hair? , Jared.
+Oscar Lopez You are correct, that is off-topic. No, I don't bleach my hair. I did that once in the 80s but did not enjoy it. #leonphelps
+Drumeo 80's? How old are you really? I thought you were like 20!
+Rastard12345 34 years old!
Drumeo You look young, take it as a compliment!
Noice beard man
Yay
When i see that, i bet this thing does not stand the test of time and will lead to vibration in the beater shaft after heavy use.
Is there anyone else making a brush beater like that?
sold...
cool
Argentinaaaaa
Nick Swardson dopple ganger
+logan miller holla
JARED
+Chad Ludwick CHAD
+Drumeo im happyto see you again
This is some fun I guess but I think it's too expensive.
I will stick with Vater's Bomber Beater!
The metallic screech from changing of the head makes me cringe. Seems like a good product though.
😍😍😍😍😍
Nice beard.
this is interesting, but can't you play without the click?
this isn't a lesson so why use the click? it was really
annoying and makes it hard to watch the video.

I like this idea very much but after looking at the price
I don't think I will be getting it anytime soon. the whole
setup would cost nearly $250.00 even if I only bought
the attachments I would use your still looking at $150.00
which translates into 4 sets of heads and a bundle of sticks.
no one is going to buy this i wouldn't
no one u say? i've seen some drummer in my place using these pedal. get your fact str8 m8.
