It could be that the reason for the more cumbersome cleaning is to prevent users from accidentally messing up the always perfectly aligned design that can happen from the prior versions after switching burrs by performing the alignment test
DF83 are in another league in terms of tolerances. The quality of the grind is not there and the company customer service is really bad. You get what you pay for with the DFs.

How are you liking the grinder 1 year later? Did you ever figure out how to solve the direct dosing issue or are you just content living with it?
Did you calibrate it to zero when you first received it or it was already calibrated and ready to use?

How did you find it in cup tasting?
