This video reminds me that Yamaha make such well built guitars, From their Pianos to guitars. Amazing workmanship on their part.
100% agree, love their newer Revstar models 🎸 ... They even make great motorcycles 😆
The patience you have to meticulously clean all those tiny parts. I could never.
These older model Yamahas are now treasures. They have a sound that is close to a Martin.
This looks and sounds great! Yamaha is very underrated
Well , I can say that I've had several Yamaha guitars of this style in the video, but they're low-end guitars, except perhaps for the top-of-the-range model.
But the one in this video has new strings, and that's what makes a clear sound, even on any low-end guitar... as soon as the strings are a few weeks or even months old, the sound won't be the same... oh no !
Another beautiful, beautiful restoration.
This gent fakes nothing. There are over 20 different types of mold that we encounter daily in our line of work. Some are topical, and others are deeply saturated .If this was black mold, I wouldn't have touched it at all. Great job once again.
That is in incredible…beautiful work and beautiful playing!
Unfortunately, if it was really damaged by mold - it would be damaged more deeply than just visible issues. Mold means the guitar was constantly stored in high humidity as result wood is loosing it structure and form. Acoustic guitars has really thin piece of wood inside that becomes useless very fast in high humidity. Surprised it has no issues with neck or body veneer or internal structure. There are 2 options: it was really in bad condition but not actually attacked by mold and was stored in dry coniditons or it is just a fake mold.
Whatever-He still did a great job!
@@edwinh7908 no doubt - liked a lot videos here about electric guitar restoration! Just it will be absolutly true with electric guitar, but here it looks artifical. It gives false hope to unexperience people who might want to buy acoustic guitar in a poor condition.
@@randomReRa Quite.
No point wasting anymore time watching this faker.
Nice save! Thank you for sharing.
Sangat satisfied dan gurih banget suara gitarnya
i love the restoration. It's squeaky clean! Kita~~~✨✨✨✨
P.S. That TOE song " GOODBYE" is one of my favorites! Nice Cover!
Nice clear video. Great result too.
What about inside? The mold will have grown in there too?
congratulations awesome job, great dedication!
Hi Friend, amazing Yamaha guitar, amazing sound, amazing restoration, amazing video ! Thank you for sharing what any luthier is looking for !
Love all of your videos thanks for sharing
good job! good sound!
You find alot of really interesting guitars & basses 👍👍
Very nice work. 😊 👍🏻
how did the outside get moldy, but not the untreated inside??
Mold grows when there's lack of air movement. As a rough guess, I'll say that moisture got into the wood and under the finish. Air was able to move inside the instrument and deter the mold growth but no airflow under the clear coat could've caused it to proliferate there. I'm not an expert, I know what I know and that's my best guess.
@@MrBaldypete1 I don't get what you're saying. Why would more airflow reach the inside of the guitar than the outside?
How to do every repair of every detail so patiently, that's so nice to see in the Japanese. Greetings from Brazil.
Those frets did not need to be replaced. They had almost no wear.
the fret work you did is probably better than what originally came out of the factory. good job as always.
Magnificent!
hi you have a talent to restore these guitars you are great
Beautiful job. I love Yamaha acoustics. Looks incredible!
Like this song from Toe…. Bless from Ecuador 🇪🇨!
love it!
Awesome!
AWESOME!!
I used to have a Yamaha guitar just like that one and I miss it because I had to sell it back in the day. I had a lot of fun with that guitar, and this video brought back some fond memories. Other than the frets I bet this was one of the easiest restoration jobs you've had in a while? Nice work as always!
Great job. The video doesn't show but I believe you cleaned inside the guitar as well.
I don't believe this was covered in mold, what about the inside? It seems pretty clean inside..
Wow So Amazing 💞🎸🤩😍
Needs to learn how to remove, clean and restore the nut, you can clearly see it isn't seated cleanly against either the fretboard edge or the headstock.
Also polish on rosewood before wax/restorative can lead to issues.
Nice!
26:55 loved the toe cover!!
I used to have one of those...I don't care about it's dirty past, I would still marry it!
I have a Yamaha FG-420/12 that I bought new in 1982 for $150.
It’s so sentimental to me I’m willing to pay any price to have it perform as a pro guitar.
It needs much work but I’m willing to get it right and make it a professional guitar.
Most of her problem is in the neck, it’s too thick always was.
It needs a new profile and the fretboard has a flat radius with very thin frets, so the neck is the main culprit.
Two cds to try that one out with is Tesla's greatest hits and Days of the New man
Pekerjaan yang indah❤❤❤
*Fantastic 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙋🏻♂️🇧🇷*
Many a luthier would disagree with the way you glue the nut
Polyurethane is very forgiving. I'd bet that lacquer wouldn't do as well. Go Yamaha ! I own several and they are a very consistent instrument. Always stays in tune and sound great and play (feel) well for a smaller handed player. StringJoy Naturals.
Bravo...😊😊😊
Super like
What about the inside?
Cool🤟
Woah I was NOT expecting to hear you play Toe at the end! That's one of my all-time favorite songs.
How can I get an opposite way, I love relic style : P
\m/ Way to go, nice work sir! \m/
How is it that the strings/frets were not more tarnished?
True ! the frets only needed to be cleaned, not changed. Unless I've seen wrong, but that would surprise me.
FG-151B All my guitars have been Yamaha.
The first acoustic guitar in the channel
Looks good, but all that moisture kills the wood sound.
Show de bola top
What about the mold on the inside of the body?
It's not mold. It's just where the lacquer get's pitted and ages (rots) over time. A Good wet and sand and then a buff always brings it back.
@punkywozza4330 If that is true, then the video title is not true, but a lie.
It's was already clean. Everything looks fresh except the dirt... Pretty sure you did that on purpose for the video.
I wish they would translate products used
Wow💥 -- Nice' Job !!! 🤙-- What year is it? 🤔
How did that bad boy smell before your restoration? Was the inside better than the outside?
It probebly just me , but I would have kept the tuning keys open. I like to see the chrome and brass gears. Beautiful guitar ,Good job
I like that look too. Like Waverlys.
You don't want to do that, not with these tuners. "Children, pets, and wildlife may become entangled in the gears to a degree that it may become impossible to extract them, leading to a ghastly death and difficult clean up. Always keep them covered." - Yamaha tuner manual.
@@zachariahpoltergeist4516 pouahahaha, always read the manuels for a good lauugh.
How did you clean into the body
What model of the guitar?
bro we have the same guitar
what about the guts? the interior must be a spotted mess
Tremendous difference.
I'm starting to think this guy likes fixing guitars.
Meu tio toca sanfona.
TOE
Cheap guitar..but nice job
take 15$ for it ?
👍🌶🤝
NON CAPISCO PERCHE' LA SOSTITUZIONE DEI TASTI CHE NON SEMBRANO USURATI,QUESTA CHITARRA E' NUOVA MA EVIDENTEMENTE IL PROPRIETARIO NON L'HA MAI USATA, I TASTI NON SONO DA CAMBIARE.SOLDI BUTTATI!!!
WHO CARES AND WHY ARE YOU SO UPSET ABOUT CHANGING THE FRETS IF YOU ARENT THE PERSON THAT IS PAYING FOR IT. YOU ARE ONLY A SPECTATOR SO SHUT IT AND DONT RUN YOUR MOUTH AND JUST ENJOY THE CONTENT. IT PROBABLY HELPED SOMEONE WHO DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO CHANGE THE FRETS AND WANTED TO LEARN. IF YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY TO THE PERSON WHO IS SPENDING THEIR TIME MAKING CONTENT ABOUT SOMETHING THAT IS THEIR PASSION IN LIFE THEN FUCK OFF.
Toe 😎
What kind of sound was you expecting? what kind of sound do you like and what kind of strings do you think would make it sound better?
Red Label? Elliot Smith guitar?
Emmmmm, not sure about this. Dodgy
But he didn’t clean it inside 🤡
