      The silvia rwd had a more ideal line when he attacked on the outside of the hairpin but this lead to the fwd civic taking the inside which overtook the silvia. I think takashi might have tried to counter DK by doing a slow entry to a fast exit but failed and went too wide. Also, DK capitilized from the moment he had the inside line.

    • @fajarastanaprima2771
      @fajarastanaprima2771 5 лет назад +1

      @@zafrilizhar6846 well, its basically like motorcycle transmission, in some case, the clutch is used only from dead stop, to move the car, in the first gear. If the car already speed up, for upshift you just flick the geear lever without need to press the clutch, but you may still need to press the clutch for downshift, like the video shown, for smoother downshift. Heel & toe technique like pure manual often applied. If you ever heard dog clutch transmission, it is something like that. Maybe someone else could explain better than me.

  • @johnjackson12

    Surely the 1.6 engine from the Fiesta st deserves an honourable mention? People have pushed over 400bhp on stock internals which is very impressive in my eyes when standard its less than 200.

    • @ITsIMP0RT4NT
      @ITsIMP0RT4NT 8 лет назад +3

      And how long did it last? Sure you could get 300K miles out of it if you never take it to the track or run it into boost but if you're a serious competitor you're going to spend more money rebuilding it than if you had just gone with a larger motor & less boost or had just built the engine before extracting big power. Making power is one thing, making power reliably is another.

    • @alamos8
      @alamos8 8 лет назад +1

      john jackson Stock internals for 400 bhp on a 1.6? Not even conrods??? Sure??? I doubt so... conrods are the most usual change on turbo engines when pushing them beyond certain point (torque), this is, Stage 3 engines with bigturbo

    • @vtecnegro85
      @vtecnegro85 7 лет назад +1

      john jackson so then the sohc and dohc 1.6L from honda deserve mentioning as well. There's 500 plus horsepower b16a engines on stock block and stick port head

    Looks like a dogbox on the upshifts, but why was he reaching for the clutch on the downshifts in the Civic?

    • @GTRWelsh
      @GTRWelsh 5 лет назад

      its the same on race bikes. dog boxes naturally unload the moment you go off throttle, the next gear is also easier on the gearbox going up. Going down its under load (engine brake) and the next gear will cause an increase in load. long story short it will munch the box. Race bikes have auto blippers and slipper clutches that slip on negative torque to save the boxes. so its doable
