  • Breaking down the Franklin Sensors ProSensor M210 and M70!
    Why are the ‪@franklinsensors8246‬ stud finders/sensors/detectors so popular? How do they work? Do you REALLY need 13 sensors, and 21 LEDs? We aim to answer these questions (and many more) as we dive deep into what makes the Franklin Sensors stud detectors better than the competition!
    Franklin Sensors reliable, accurate and easy to use stud finders are designed using the latest technology. The instant stud finder can detect studs in real-time, and its accuracy is significantly higher than conventional electronic stud finders.
    It’s no secret that we’re huge fans. They’ve been in our tool box since day one- maybe it’s time you add one yours!

    Also thought it might be worth mentioning that there is a new revision of this M210 out - i just got one early this AM and the key difference is that it throws up a green LED sensor on the true-center of the stud which is a nice feature. - I just spoke to customer service @ Franklin Sensors to confirm as it's apparently only listed in the tiny print in the documentation that nobody ever reads.

    So my franklin sensor has 6 sensors. When used in bathroom, for some reason it seems to be picking up a ‘stud’ that I happen to know is actually a water line. Imagine someone drilling into that thinking it was a stud. It even picked up ‘studs’ in the garage so I drilled into it only to find drywall (no stud). Turned out what it picked up was a wooden handrail clear on the other side of the wall, inside the house. Idk. I own 3 stud finders ranging from $30 to $90 and I gotta say, they all do some weird shit lol.

      It’s impossible for stud finders to be “perfect”. These are the best in our opinion because they pick up the most data with their additional sensors/technology. There are many situations where you need to use additional knowledge and info to confirm studs. I.e.) 16” centers between readings, thickness of the reading, proximity to outlet boxes (which typically have a stud on one of their sides). All that said, we see your point and we’re sorry you found it frustrating👍

    not sure if anyone else mentioned this already but you don't take the battery cover off to access the pencil - there is a cutout spot on outside - bottom right where you can slide it out with your finger.

      @@RefreshHomeImprovements 8 seconds into the video, you can see the pencil is visible from the outside. Use your finger to push in to create some sort of grip and slide the pencil out.

    How does work with the wall with insulation ,and does it locate the wire?

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  23 дня назад

      We find they work better than every other stud finder we’ve used when it comes to thick walls/walls with insulation etc. (Specifically the M210 and the X2100), and yes they have models that not only detect the presence of a live wire, but some that have a live wire meter that illuminates in sequence as the electrical signal strength increases. Their website has a great section that helps you filter and choose the best stud finder for your needs: franklinsensors.com/products/?wpf_fbv=1&wpf_filter_live-electrical-warning=live-electrical-warning%7Clive-wire-meter 👍

    I have the m210 and can't figure it out. I just got a single red flashing light on the most lateral right sensor light

    • @RefreshHomeImprovements
      @RefreshHomeImprovements  23 дня назад

      hmm 🤔, there really isn't anything to ‘figure out’ with these (thats part of what we love about them). It really should be as simple as holding the device to the wall and pressing the button- so if that’s not working perhaps you have a defective unit. Try contacting Franklin Sensors directly, I’m sure they’ll take care of any issues you’ve got 👍
