Four Feather falls would make a great spaghetti western ...Tex Tucker riding the range..

This would be the ultimate live-action adaptation, especially if you got Paramount to produce and distribute said film, granted the weasels at Paramount would reject it out of hand, because you couldn’t make a PC western that would be successful these days.

Joe 90 has been recently remade as a live-action series. It was called 'The Ipcress File' and starred Joe Cole.

I couldn't help think the same thing. Really enjoyed the series but kept seeing him as a pubescent Joe 90.

My hypothetical cast for a potential Stingray live action film made around 1966-67:
    Captain Troy Tempest (James Garner)
    Marina(Ursula Andress)
    Titan (Laurence Olivier)
    Agent X20 (Peter Lorre)
    Phones (Robert Easton)
Lieutenant Fisher (Keir Dullea - David Bowman
    from 2001: A Space Odyssey)
    Atlanta (Lee Remick)
    Commander Sam Shore (John Wayne)
    Thoughts? 😉

A SPACE:1999 prequel would be brilliant! The planning, design and building of Moonbase Alpha, the discovery of and mission to Planet Meta plus references to known Alpha Personnel that we don't actually need to see and a recap on UFO.

There are actually a lot of plot similarities between the first episode of 'Joe 90' and the 1982 Clint Eastwood movie 'Firefox.'

Could do it as a follow on to the original.
Joe is now Mac's age in the original. Since retiring from WIN, He has been trying to get the BIGRAT working for other field agents, but their brains just aren't compatible. His little niece, Josephine, visits him and inadvertently stumbles on the lab and triggers the equipment transfering into herself Uncle Joes's brain pattern. She then has a "crisis of conscience" with herself, arguing whether she should tell real Joe what she's discovered. The Josephine side, now knowing instantly all about the BIGRAT and all her uncle's adventures, wants to join WIN. The Joe personality wants to keep her safe. Cue some great flashback scenes. Josephine prevails and reveals what happened to her uncle, whilst he is on a vidiphone call to Sam Loover's successor, who jumps at the chance to recruit her.
    Thus begin the adventures of.....
    JO 90.

Live action Joe 90 needs to be as dark as the original show, likewise a live action Captain Scarlet would do well if written in the right way.....I would love to see a film version of Space Precinct too.

  • @JagoHazzard

I don't know, when I rewatched Joe 90 recently (having got bored with it as a kid), I was surprised by how dark it went. There are several bits where Mac and Sam butt heads over sending a child into danger, not to mention episodes where spy work interferes with Joe and Mac's personal lives. My fear if they made a movie would be that they'd abandon all that in favour of producing something more, well, Spy Kids.
Personally, I've often thought that I'd like to see a sequel, where we see an adult Joe who feels bitter towards WIN and conflicted about his father, wrestling with whatever bizarre variant of PTSD you'd get from being implanted with someone else's mind and undertaking death-defying missions every week.

If they was going to make a live action film of Captain Scarlet. I already know what actors would play four characters
    1. Captain Scarlet - John Barrowman (??)
    2. Rhapsody Angel - Karen Gilain
    3. Melody Angel - Halle Lynn Bailey
    4. Destiny Angel - Léa Seydoux

I can see where Disney might have issues with the darker parts of Joe 90 being in their library. Also a kid who downloads new skills and then heads out into danger might have come across as little to close to the Matrix. Better they reboot 'The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes' again, this time with some popular teen influence/face like that Shia LaBeouf guy.

If given the chance to see a live Jerry Anderson movie. I'd actually go for Fireball XL9.
We're getting something close to it with Buzz Lightyear. But I'd really love to see a movie that puts William Shatner in his best Sci-Fi roll, As Zoonie the Lazoon.

There already was a Spy Kids-style live-action Joe 90 movie : it was the live-action Thunderbirds movie... irritating brats saving the day while the main characters are sidelined out of the action.
And if Joe was 13/14/15, wouldn't the project have to be called Joe 130/140/150? (I always read that the title referred to his being 9 years old.)

My father and I watched Joe 90 together but I considered it a bit of a chore. Joe (and his father) never had the charisma to carry the series, but I suppose that's too much to ask of marionettes.

  • @alanruyten8226
    @alanruyten8226 2 года назад +3

A Joe 90 live action film to be convincing would have to veer towards a Jason Bourne type scenario where he would question why he was doing these missions. Was his father all claimed to be? Was his work ethical? Whose side should Joe be on? Duh, duh, dah! 😎

I would prefer a Captain Scarlet or Stingray live action movie, or a UFO movie. Perhaps it's because I first encountered Joe 90 as an adult, but my first reaction is always to want to shake Professor McClaine until his teeth rattled while reminding him that deliberately endangering a nine year old boy is child abuse.

Although I have seen all the episodes, given it a fair chance in other words, in my opinion, Joe 90 was my least favourite of the Supermarionation series. There's an aspect of Scrappy Doo and Albert the Fifth Musceteer about it, annoying little character upstaging the big characters. I put it behind the Secret Service (which has a similar concept to Joe 90, albeit with an elderly priest as opposed to a 9 year old boy) which I found more entertaining overall with Stanley Unwin's Unwinese bamboozling the guest characters particularly hilarious

  • @David-xl9cp
    @David-xl9cp 2 года назад

The live version of thunderbirds was just absolutely terrible, completely missed ever point of the puppet series and and the characters, plus the most awful acting of stupid kids. They were just using the name and idea and forgot about everything else. A bit like turning a Tom Clancy book into a love story on a desert island!!! As for the next live big screen, has to be captain scarlet, as this would be more sci-fi/supernatural, the rest have now all been done to death in one form or another.
