Memory tricks. For years I had remembered a scene in Dad's Army where they were trying to disentangle a German parachutist from the town hall. Private Walker said "Be careful, Captain , you're going to break his leg". And I remembered Mainwaring's reply as "He should have thought about that before he came here." I was so disappointed when I saw the episode again and found the line was "I can't help that, he shouldn't have come here in the first place."
I always thought he was Joe 90 because he was nine years old and they added a zero, so I learnt something. Also will you be making a W.I.N. lapel badge anytime soon?
I think it was because joe 90 was used in an early second pitch for fireball xl5(century 21). In the second pitch, there was a young boy named Joe who would go to bed at night and have theses dreams of being a space cadet in the future called Joe 90.
Does anyone else see the similarity between Lt. 90 and George Michael? Every time I see him I expect to hear Faith! Maybe George modelled himself on 90.
Memory can certainly play tricks on you when you're ... 90. :)
