  • Hey guys! How's it going? Welcome back to my channel 😊
I know it's been a year since I last sat down and filmed a video like this, but I thought we could catch up today. If you're up for it, grab a snack and settle in; it's going to be a long one.
    Love always,
    Victoria 💕

You look 22 at most! I'm 35 and going through a big of a similar phase.
I'm an only child to a widowed mom who is currently in her last weeks of life in palliative care at the hospital due to cancer. Workwise, I settled for a remote job (unrelated to my degree) with little growth opportunities to be her caregiver for the last two years. This has isolated me socially, but thank goodness I have a boyfriend who is helpful and some people I can vent to. Ultimately, it's all on me. I can't lie, at my age I thought my life would look so different with an everpresent mom, kids, marriage, career and decent social life. These experiences force you to sink or float.

Thank you! You’re too sweet; my genetics definitely played out in my favor, but if I could be 22 again, I would definitely do things differently.
I’m so sorry to hear about your mom and her health; my thoughts and prayers go out to you. It’s a difficult situation, and I don’t think there’s anything I could say that would make you feel any better. But everything will be okay, even when it feels like won’t. Until that moment comes, just enjoy your mom as best as you can. Being a caretaker is no small feat, and for you to be able to continue to work and get things done is an amazing accomplishment. You’re doing a great job, and I know your mom’s so appreciative of you 💜
These situations definitely help build resiliency, but it also puts things in perspective. I’ve experienced so many different types of hurt and pain in the past 5 years, but I don’t think anything will ever compare to the loss of my mom. And if I managed to make it through that, then I can make it through anything. Granted, it’s taken me some years to get myself back into a semi-okay-ish/functioning mental and emotional state, but a victory is still a victory, no matter how small.
And rather than dwell on things of the past and missed opportunities or be weighed down by the idea that we have to accomplish certain things by a certain age, it’s better to focus on the present and take care of yourself. Because when you’re okay, everything else will be okay, and the rest will fall into place as you continue pushing forward on your timeline and not anyone else’s.
