  • The world's most famous houses from TV and Movies are being torn down as Warner Brothers makes way for what’s set to be the largest studio development in the United States - complete with 16 new soundstages, a multi-level parking structure, support facilities, and a 320,000-square foot office building. Development of the property is expected to be complete in 2025. The houses, which sit on Blondie Street in Burbank, California, is part of what's described as a "time-capsule" street where numerous films and television shows have been filmed over the years. Included in the list in addition are Bewitched, WandaVision, The Partridge Family, American Beauty, Lethal Weapon, Pleasantville, Father Knows Best, I Dream of Jeanie, and Young Sheldon just to name a few. The area was also the location of the iconic Friends fountain, though that item has since been relocated from the park in the area to the Warner Bros. lot in 2022 where it is part of the studio tour. The demolition is part of what Jeff Nagler, president of Warner Bros. Worldwide Studio Operations called efforts to enhance offerings for productions and partners, noting that the company is "continuing to enhance our state-of-the-art studios and full-service offerings.”

      @@alandale2182 You think WRONG. if you have any streaming services you would know that. Hollywood churns out twice the product today then just 10 years ago to fill the needs of those services.....they are literally out of room in California....

      How do you know this??? These old sets (while cool) have little historical value. If they need someone would have swooped down the two years this had been known about....to save them. The world cannot be made into a museum.

    Once they're gone, you can't get them back. Should have been relocated to studio 🎙️ tour...

    • @Anth230
      @Anth230 10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes you can get them back. If anyone should ever have the need to. Easy for them to rebuild They were simple structures. Look at the Star Trek Original series ENTEPRISE sets. A full version exists in New York and fans flock to see them.
      These were long standing sets and were used and redressed a ton of times. It was time for them to go...

    All of the old people that ran WB have passed away or have retired. This is what you get hiring people that only care about profit. All studios use green or blue screen back drops now. They don't care about history.

    It's a shame they should have been moved to another area. As for the bewitched house the entire thing should have been built inside as it appeared on the actual set you show a shell . I loved how it looked on bewitched the Large living room with fireplace. Large dining room kitchen etc

    • @wisheduknew294
      @wisheduknew294 9 месяцев назад

      They should build a replica of that

    • @Anth230
      @Anth230 8 месяцев назад

      The shell was only half a floor plan. They don't and mostly still do not use a full house as a set. As for moving them. Who would pay for it and who would upkeep them???? Their time has come. They got great use out of them and they were all falling apart ... Very flimsy. The good news is....any of them can be easily rebuilt and the REAL house the bewitched house was copied from still exists. It's much bigger on one side. It's actually a corner house. So the adjacent street side from the front looks pretty awesome. You should look it up...

    The only true façade was the Bewitched house. It had only a front and no interior. The other structures were full buildings and many had “practical” or functional interiors.

    Things wont be the same without them. A lot of these should have been moved to another location. The houses from The Munsters, Bewitched, Hazel, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken are iconic landmarks and should have been spared. Thanks alot Warners Bros! 👎🏼

      They weren't houses, they were movie sets. They had electricity, but they had no plumbing. The film footage of the interior was filmed in movie studio, on a set.
