Not Fade Away - Live at THAT Brewery, Cottonwood, Arizona - Jez Quayle & Dave Rentz

In May I stayed for a couple of weeks with friends in Clarkdale, Arizona. I played a few small gigs (my first in the US), including this fundraiser event at THAT Brewery, in the town of Cottonwood. On this Buddy Holly classic I was accompanied by the great percussionist/drummer (and multi-instrumentalist) Dave Rentz. It was a lot of fun!

I herd jarry Alison used a cardboard box in the studio.the box was just laying around.he tried playing on his lap but didn’t work and buddy holly liked it 📦🎸

Yes, that’s correct. Jerry Allison also played a cardboard box on ‘Baby I Don’t Care’. Buddy Knox had previously used a cardboard box on his hit record, ‘Party Doll’, which is where Jerry got the idea. Eddie Cochran used a cardboard box on a number of his famous recordings.
