Got the 2023 version. I am a video editor and this laptop is a beast compared to my older one ROG G531GT. The performance is great and perfect for the on the go editors. Add another 16gig RAM (32GB) and it will not dissapoint you! 🙌

I Recently bought Strix Scar 16 with rtx 4090. Great laptop. Had problem with hdr display ( black screen) but now it seems to work. Great performance and dont need to use turbo mode, where it is quite loud. Bought additional hub for USB ports cause the number in laptop isnt enough.
The keyboard thing has remind me of people justifying a car without stalks while complaining about keys size on a laptop. At the end, keyboard layout on gaming laptops is just a personal preference. Besides, unless you are a Mac user, most of the people will use left shift key instead of the shift key next to the arrow keys.

I got the 2023 Model. 4060 i7 13650HX. 165hz 1920x1200. They don't make em now. Amazing value and performance to cost balance. i9 and a gfx higher than 4060 feels like a bit of a waste given the 280W power brick, so you're still limited to how much power you can distribute between all the components. I feel like they managed to strike an almost perfect balance with the 2023 i7, 4060s. Also super affordable when I got mine. Seems like it was so good, they couldn't sell any of the i9s, so they made it default option. XD XD

4070 man but u can over clock the Asus 4060 to give you like more performance upto 4080 u can even do it with legion I don't know what work are u buying a laptop but for colour grading u should go with the Asus and another thing I think in the legion u don't have a thunderbolt port so yeah if that matters both have thier ups and downs it's your preference 4070 or a display output and better colour aquracy

I'm thinking of building a destkop in the future and was considering getting an AMD processor. Laptops, you should only get if you're traveling and you want to do a mixture of light gaming and productivity, but I don't ever recommend replacing a Desktop with it.

The speakers in the Strix are a bit better but the keyboard on the Legion is nicer. It really is kind of a toss up. I do like the Legions software more as it has less overhead. Both are great laptops
varies on the game tbh but based that it has a rtx 4070 and a I-9 , i would say it shouldn’t struggle to get passed the 240fps of the display in medium settings on the game in the lowest settings prob 400-500 fps which is really good for a laptop and also since they advertise the display being 240hz it should fit the quality to run most games at atleast 240fps on dedicated settings with those specs

First of all, laptops like these last up to 10 years. Not 3. Secondly, there's noise cancelation on it. And if nobody was gaming on these, there wouldn't even be a market for gaming laptops, which there is. Not everybody has the space for a desktop anyway
I do not know why are you reviewing Asus products. At least you should advise your viewers that Asus scams their customers, and if something is bad with your Asus laptop they wont fix it properly. I never had such a bad experience when returning a product. I have a hardware malfunction and when you bring it in for the repair they do something trivial like reinstalling windows or something. Stay away from Asus.

Best gaming experience is the Zephyrus. But you lose some gaming performance (about 4%) and some ability to self upgrade (RAM) but gain OLED, better sound quality and a lot lighter. CPU performance is quite a bit less powerful between the two with the G16 having the HX and the Zephyrus only having a Core Ultra. Which will impact render times etc. But if it is just gaming and productivity I would choose the Zephyrus over the Strix any day.

8:50 Not a problem for me. Personally I wouldn't use the track pad at all rather I would keep the 10 keys always on and use a wireless mouse.

It has per key RGB and number pad on touchpad I checked it out on offical ROG offline store few days ago
Apparently not all of them come with the numpad on the touch pad option so you have to confirm before purchasing from the vendor you are buying from.

varies on the game tbh but based that it has a rtx 4070 and a I-9 , i would say it shouldn’t struggle to get passed the 240fps of the display in medium settings on the game in the lowest settings prob 400-500 fps which is really good for a laptop and also since they advertise the display being 240hz it should fit the quality to run most games at atleast 240fps on dedicated settings with those specs

Has there been any word on the issues regarding 13/14th generarion on the laptop CPU's? Rewlly wanting to pull the trigger but everywhere I look is panic about the newer generation processors on desktops.

@@3DOMSPEECHUNITY I picked mine up today and did all the updating etc, really happy with the initial performance! Deleted the bloatware/armorycrate and installed Ghelper, it's wicked fast. For note, mine is the i9-14900HX, 4060 combo. I'll wind up upgrading my ram to 32

Nah I'd never pay the price for this, I have a Steam Deck for anytime I go somewhere, and I really don't game when I go places lol I bought a REAL Desktop with the I7-14700 CPU and the 4070 GPU, with much better cooling and 32gb of RAM. Nothing it can't handle. Gaming laptops can't have any significant upgrades like Desktops, duh which most know. And they only last about 3 years, if that. Also loud fans, NO thanks. i actually don't know anyone who games on a laptop in 2024. Mostly consoles or a desktop. But it's nice, for it's outrageous price. Also, who plays competitive titles on a LAPTOP?? hmmm nah.

Secondly, there's noise cancelation on it. And if nobody was gaming on these, there wouldn't even be a market for gaming laptops, which there is. Not everybody has the space for a desktop anyway

Asus are a garbage company and are rightly now not being promoted by most tech tubers.
I do not know why are you reviewing Asus products. At least you should advise your viewers that Asus scams their customers, and if something is bad with your Asus laptop they wont fix it properly. I never had such a bad experience when returning a product. I have a hardware malfunction and when you bring it in for the repair they do something trivial like reinstalling windows or something. Stay away from Asus.

Best gaming experience is the Zephyrus. But you lose some gaming performance (about 4%) and some ability to self upgrade (RAM) but gain OLED, better sound quality and a lot lighter. CPU performance is quite a bit less powerful between the two with the G16 having the HX and the Zephyrus only having a Core Ultra. Which will impact render times etc. But if it is just gaming and productivity I would choose the Zephyrus over the Strix any day.
