    This exact same method and procedure can be used on several different Spektrum Receivers and Transmitters , including models with retractable landing gear and working flaps . The radio will automatically assign channels to the gear and flaps , so use the basic Aircraft Type shown . This is the fastest way to set up SAFE and AS3X , You can make the setup more detailed and involved ....time consuming .and complicated if you so desire.
    You can name the model , change channel assignments , gains , rates , travels , speeds ect ect . for example .

    Wow, there's a lot of behind the scenes technology that goes into these things, that I didn't expect. They are way more complicated than I realized!

      Thanks Marti . The tech has come along way , but can still be daunting at first . Once you do it a few times though its old hat .
      These planes can be very expensive and if having flight stability makes the difference between flying or not . I'm all for it .
      Have a great week my friend 👍🏼🤠

      Thanks Gina .I hope it helps one day . I've maidened 3 planes perfectly with this exact set up. Of course you can get more fancy and complex , but that's just icing on the cake .
      I had a fair bit of trouble with this one at the editing stage . Several restarts ....UGH ..
      I did a separate video section on how to remove old programming in receivers and a few other bits like the leveling , but I had to cut them because something was corrupted .
      I'll just make another vid on that and it will help to keep the topics separated anyway .
      Have a great week . Cheers 👍🏼🤠
      Great job with the Red Devil BTW .

      Thanks Dennis . The receivers often survive the worst crashes , so its nice to be able to reprogram them like this as well for re use .

    Would it not make for a more complete setup to do the other two flight modes? Say FM2 AS3X and FM3 with nothing, just all natural. Using my NX10 and this is where I would like to be, but my forward programming fails to connect to my AR9350 to do the setup. I will check your other videos and thanks!

    • @PhilipCockram
      @PhilipCockram  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hello , those other two flight modes auotmatcilly accompany the set up . As long as you're using a 3 way switch . It will be full ...S.A.F.E , AS3X and nothing ...depending on the switch position .
      Secondly , the AR9350 is an older 'sport' receiver that doesn't have SAFE built into it ...from my understanding .
      So , unfortunately , while this procedure and video does work on most modern receivers sold today , I think your receiver is incompatible with SAFE .
      There are some videos ...from Spektrum on programming that model normally and you may find those helpful .
      Thanks for watching and your question .

    Great video, only one question I have a DX9 and when I go to program my B switch it keeps only giving me flight mode three setup. When I toggle the switch it just says flight mode three. Would you know why it doesn’t cycle though flight modes 1,2,3 like your does? Thank you

    Great video which I followed and got all set up but throttle no longer working. Reset to factory default and throttle works again. Followed set up again all set up but no throttle again. Any idea why that may be?

    • @PhilipCockram
      @PhilipCockram  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hello , The throttle cut and switch assignment can be programmed at anytime . And is independent of the SAFE and AS3X system .
      Its just recommended to have or do on all planes .
      and is why it was included here .
      I would try skipping that step altogether during the SAFE/AS3X setup .
      Once you know that it is working OK , program a throttle cut after .
      I've never encountered this , so i think its just a glitch in your method or radio .
      The method works for many radios , but there are variarition to some models and firmware versions.
      Hope that helps.

    If the plane is a tail dragger and you are setting up safe does it need to be level or resting on the tailwheel. Because if I set it up with the tail wheel down when you select SAFE off the elevator pitches up?

    • @toasterizer1
      @toasterizer1 3 месяца назад +1

      Should be level and not on the tailwheel.

    When I program my receiver with with SAFE and AS3X on my E-flite Ultimate 3D on switch B it reverses the throttle . I have not programmed throttle reverse. Any one have any idea?

    • @PhilipCockram

      Hi . Somethings obviously very wrong for that to happen . I have heard of a few instance of this happening lately . Not to this plane specifically though .
      My guess is it something to do with one of the newer transmitter or receiver updates .
      Or a defective product , It happens . I just had a brand new plane with a bad receiver.
      I suggest going through everything again .
      The Spektrum flight model could be the culprit also , if you're using it .
      If nothing works call Horizon , talk to a person directly , not chat , and they should be able to either talk you through the problem and or will use that process to determine if it a warranty claim is given .
      I've had good success with them dealing with issues that way , Some folks ...not so much .
      It sounds like you know your stuff and they will respect that , they deal with a lot of newbs as you can imagine . Best of luck . I'd be interested to know how it works out , Cheers
