- NEW YARN! I am so excited to show you this brand new yarn called Red Heart All in One Granny Square! Keep on stitchin' with no color switchin' because the yarn is made with the exact color changes needed to make a perfect granny square!
NOTE: I’m following my fave granny square pattern here, but you can get the Yarnspirations pattern on the label.

SEE WHAT I MADE WITH THESE GRANNY SQUARES:
TIPS:
1. You will need to start with the middle color in the picture of the granny square on the label. The length of the colors is pre-set for each round so it has to go in the order of the granny square pictured. If you pull from the center and the color isn't your starting color, you need to clip the yarn until it is the correct color. Use any extra yarn you snip off for stitching the squares together.
2. I ended up using a size H (5mm) crochet hook and kept my tension pretty tight. Feel free to use a hook that's a size bigger or smaller if you need to adjust.
3. I turned after each round so I was starting in the chain space with a new color. The squares are reversible!
My mother in law who passed away in 2006 at 100 would be so happy with this great era of yarn and people learning how to knit and crochet. The yarns would blow her mind. Good memories of mother-in-law.
You are the only one that gets the color working
It might be the hook size she's using.........🤔
Thank you. I’ve been crying for hours because mine is NOT coming out like this at all.
I am stressing over the same thing I have to undo redo, undo , and even using a smaller stitch hook !
I want, NO, NEED this in my life, but this close to X-mas, I can't afford it, so I'll bookmark this little gem for later!
Let's do some figgerin':
At $11.99 per 8.8 oz skein, it costs about $1.36 per yard. Average cost of Red Heart at WalMart is usually less than a penny per yard, so, it's a no-brainer for me to by this Granny Square yarn. I mean, considering the inches per row that are lost on color changes, 'n the time saved by not havin' to weave those in, or mess around with trying to carry it along with and hide it by your new stitches - which comes loose anyway because of the long legged nature of the double crochet ~ unless you're crocheting tight, which you can't, because if you do, the measurements won't work out right and the colors won't hit at the right place with this new yarn colorway.
So... Saves time, saves waste, ya git 14 sqwarz* outta one roll... fer a dollar-36 a yard, it ain't a bad thing!
*my country raisin' comes out strong when imitating my share-croppin', pinny-pinchin' Granny when she's a-figgurin' on the "cost-worthy-niss of work, waste 'n bother" 'bout sump'n.
With one roll of this yarn, you could make 2 of those cute little purses that take 6 squares each. And just make a short i-cord handle or simple DC short row straps from the extra squares. 1 each. That's about a six buck gift - that's right, a $6 gift - for each of two someones on your list. Time's a-wastin', better hurry! Hope you can crochet as fast as this gall did!
By the way with two rolls of this you could make 28 squares, and that would make a pretty decent crib blanket or lap blanket/lapghan, or a rectangular Wrap that can maybe be transformed into a rectangular Poncho* with some really big decorative buttons with a granny square hole-sized button on the back side of them, or just four, big-enough-to-go-through-the-hole-color-coordinated buttons, sewn back to back so that they all color coordinate but that can be whimsically changed as to which side is facing out.
14 squares each would make Ponchos for 2 small girls, I'd say, 6- ish or younger.
* you can look up how to style a rectangular poncho with buttons
What kind of crochet hook did you use that allowed you to crochet so fast? Looks like a Susan Bates in-line head.
@@margaretlee6669it looks like a Susan Bates to me too, think either she made the handle or she bought it from someone who did. I like the Susan Bates with the bamboo handles best. 🙂💖🐈⬛🐈🌈
The yarn will be available at Joann's and Walmart soon
You crochet so fast, you look like a machine! And, you are a great tutorialist!
I feel like I would be making and remaking that center multiple times before the color change happened in the right place
Agreed
You're supposed to leave a 4-inch tail before starting.
@@EileenGery oh ok it looked like the starting point was chosen at random and then magically worked out.
“Keep on stitching’ with no color switchin’.”
Is that the official motto or are you just a GENIUS? 🤣❤️
It's written on the yarn label
I still can’t get over how fast you crochet!! I mean my eyes can’t keep up!! Maybe this newbie should try this cool yarn 🤔
i slowed the video down since she crochets so fast . i want to grow up and be just like her with those mad crocheting speed. 😊
Looks like you used a different pattern, but it worked out very well!!
This is the best tutorial out of the many I have watched! I am using a Furls I hook and this pattern with very good results. I have a stack of 13 so far. I have noticed that the second round needs to be done loose. Rows 4,5,6 much tighter. Red Heart should promote this video, it looks much better than the ball band pattern. ❤
I have watched so many people try this. You’re literally the only one I’ve seen make it work. The only positive review. I want to try it but 😬
This gives me anxiety haha. I’d be worried all the time the colors wouldn’t change at the correct time. You do wonderful tutorials. I’ve made several of your patterns. You’re an amazing teacher 😊
I think this would make such a beautiful hexagonal cardigan.
I've never seen anyone crochet like this, I think you're actually just waving a magic wand
Hi Sarah, I need to use a size K crochet hook. I have to fiddle with the yarn sometimes (often, but not by much) but that size is the best for me. I’ve crocheted 37 squares successfully so far. I plan to make the Yarnspirations dog sweater for my daughter’s dog and the backpack for my granddaughter. I am blocking each stack of 14 as I finish each skein. I love the colors Red Heart chose! I want to make some of your Christmas tree ornaments for next Christmas. Thank you! 💚
If this yarn turns out to be awesome. Redheart should do holidays granny
What an ingenious idea by the yarn company. I'm definitely getting this when it shows up here!
This is great! No more ends to weave in! How in the world do you crochet so so fast❤️❤️❤️🙈🙈 wow so fast thanks for the video ❤
I think it’s the pencil grip. I can only do the knife grip but I think if you know how to do the pencil grip you can go faster
I was thinking the same thing. I hold my hook like a knife so I guess it slows me down.
@@theotheranna6973 I do the pencil grip but I’m not that fast anymore lol 😂
@@theotheranna6973Your wrist and fingers will thank you when you are older. I used to crochet like this. My mother in law showed me the knife grip. She said please to listen as it would keep me from arthritis, tendonitis, and damage to my hands. I changed immediately. So glad I did. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis but my hands are still nimble. My arms and shoulders cause problems way before my hands ever do. She is no longer with us but thank you mom I'm law. 💕🪷
This pattern worked better than the one provided. This is what I typically use for my granny squares. But I sized up to a 7.0mm for my tension. Thanks!
No more nightmare ends to weave in project 👏 Thank you, Red Heart ♥️
Holy moly! You crochet so fast 😅
This is such a cool idea! I love the look of granny square projects but I find I mostly want to do them when not paying attention, which means the colour changes are inconvenient.
It's beautiful but I don't use the chain one bc I like a tighter GS so not sure how that would work out 🤷🏻♀️ plus I like to st to the corner...
I normally don’t get excited over new yarn designs but last night when I was looking at my emails & was reading the one from Yarnspirations & it was about this new granny stitch yarn I got so excited! I thought this was a great idea! I do NOT need anymore yarn but I really want to get some of this & make a blanket. 🥰 thank you for the video!
Santa should deliver this to every yarn nut
I went down size h also . This is amazing.
Holy moly woman you crochet fast! I've tried the pencil grip but I think I need more practice. I like that yarn. I need it lol.
This yarn is AMAZING!!!!!!!
I can't wait to try it!!!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are the very first one and I have watched at least 8 people do this, you are the Only one that had it work out!!! One woman used 9 hook , !!! You win !!!!
I was so excited to see this yarn and hopped over to check out the site to order. The reviews were not good at all. I love a challenge so they will not stop me from trying. But they were harsh.
Thank you for sharing this exciting new yarn!!!!!
Your tutorial was so helpful!!!! But is there any chance there is a written pattern for this granny square ? 🧶🫶
this yarn has changed my life. i need this.
Sarah! Love your version! I'm going to try that next. xoxox Tiff
Amazing! I love grannies, so anything that can speed upmaking 50 grannies (or more) for a sweater is wonderful in my book!
Hi Sara, I just had three skeins of the Red Heart Granny Square yarn delivered today, and I am happy to say that I don't have excess amount of white in the beggining of all the skeins.
Thank you for the video! I can’t wait to try! ❤
I need this!! for sure. wohooo...let's dig in.
Ok I like your instructions better than what’s on the label. It came out much more even fornme
Absolutely in awe of this yarn
Can’t wait to try it 😊
I am having a good time with this yarn. No problems at all.
How? Mine is so frustrating and hasn’t been color changing properly thers too much yarn of every color idk what I’m doing wrong
This is so cool. I don't usually make Granny Squares, but this is cool.
Get out! This is amazing. How did they do this. This is genius. 🤯
It came out perfect the way you did it. I can’t wait to buy it. It looks like so much fun. Thank you for this. 👏👏
You are chaining 2 . Michael Sellick chained 3. Also i donot turn does it make a difference. Thank you for covering this.
Can't wait to try. I'll probably do it the way I make granny squares though.
Yep, I don't do them this way either so I hope it still works out
So happy you shared this yarn with me, game changer for sure. Saves time on weaving ends. Hopefully it won't have knots and tangles.
I want Every Color!! I really want to combine it with one of the colors in the skein, so it can be chunkier! What is your opinion of that???
I want to see each color combo offered made up into a square before ordering on line. Thank you
How cool is this!
I seen this on your site and went straight to joAnnes and bought some 😂 i havent been crocheting alot my cr-jo just hasnt been around, but this got me excited! Thank you for the tips!!
Genius!
O my goodness this is perfect!!
I wonder what the colors would look like , if you just kept making the granny square larger. Using the whole skein😃
Im going to buy so much of this😂. I just have to wait till after Christmas 😭 😭 😭
I use a H hook. No chain between clusters and chain 2 in corners
S. Watch tension
How come you are turning the work each round? We usually don’t do that for granny squares. Your tutorial looks much better than others I have seen for this yarn because you are doing fewer chains in the corners.
Wow so there is going to be tons of people having problems getting it to work....a long tail and working really loose is going to be hard...guess nothing to do but to try it out and see how it goes 😊
Omg this is awesome! Love this thank you red heart and thank you to you for showing us
Makes me wish I knew how to crochet even more
I can’t wait to get some. I’ll have to wait for a coupon first 😅 $11.99 a skein
The one good thing is each skin is suppose to produce 14 squares. I agree it is on the pricey side. Happy Holidays. Peace and Blessings
Genious❤
I have so many granny square projects in mind. Thank you for showing it.
I just looking at this can’t wait to buy
This is so cool! I would also love to see how this yarn works up doing something besides a granny square. I bet it would be pretty interesting.
Wow gorgeous yarn and what a great idea.my goodness your fast..I live in Ireland I wonder could I buy on line.💖💖thank you for sharing.💖💖
This is genius! I just wish it came in natural fiber options, because I prefer to avoid acrylic when possible.
Awesome thanks for letting us know about it!😊
Wow
Wow! How fun!
I love to crochet, but my most favorite pattern is the granny square. So I am off to the store, they better have it.😊
Oh my this is gorgeous!!!
I'm gonna make one big Granny square blanket with this yarn. I hope its at my small town Walmart
This is like magic! I love it.
So cool!!! Thanks for sharing! Hope you’re having a great day❤
I love this! Thanks, Sara❤!
just brought 5 colors times 2 🎉 hoping i can use them for a CAL im doing 2024… they wont be perfect squares buts thats cool.
Could you switch to a smaller or larger hook size to adjust where the color change lands?
Very nice
Wow I am amazed !!
Thanks for the tutorial 😊
Hope it comes to the UK soon
love this!
Well done! Thank you!
This is amazing. I need to get some. Thanks for sharing this review
Omg I’m so excited to try this yarn!
This is great!!!
I'm just amazed how fast you crochet. Compared to you I'm a tortoise.
I also have to say this yarn looks great. If I were into making granny squares I'd use this. I wonder how it would work with a rectangular granny afghan....
I can’t wait to try this 😊
I wish you can buy this yarn other than from yarn inspiration. I will have to wait for a sale
Thank you for sharing! Got to find this yarn, have not seen it yet in any of our stores, will keep looking.❤❤😊
I would love to have that yarn 🧶 Changing yarn colors and then weaving in tails is a pain.
How big can you make each granny square? I like making big ones. Will the colors start to go whacky a a certain point?🥰
Love this! Cannot wait to try this!
love this BUT if you remake this video , do a pause and show completed round before continuing to next ? please??? I watched it before purchasing the yarn.
First, I haven’t seen any color combinations I like. 2nd, when I’m doing granny squares for projects I usually want to use the colors in different orders. So they would need to develop like 4 choices in same colors but different orders.
Is it possible to do row 1 as written in the pattern and the rest of the square like the video?
Oh boy!😊
Is the yarn soft ? I’ve noticed that red heart yarn has been stiff lately
How did you get the first round to work without measuring the required 4-inch tail?
Can you use this in color pooling? beautiful colors
That's what im wondering too!
