My biggest problem with this yarn is that you can’t use it to create half or 3/4 granny squares without cutting it up. When making garments, I feel like partial squares are essential for proper fit
Hi. First off, the first blue sweater looked beautiful on you- I had no ideas your eyes were blue! Secondly, I saw a yarn at a Michael’s you need to make a sweater out of. It’s Caron cloud cakes. It’s a long self striping yarn- I’ve made 2 sweaters out of it and it is soooo soft and comfy and drapes so well. But I’m currently in the US on a trip and I saw a colourway called “Sunflare” and it’s totally your colours: yellow, orange and brown. I haven’t seen it in Canada, but maybe you can order it. Gorgeous.
love the colours but yeah i think youre right about the fit... still, i cant wait to see the cardigan, since youre way more familiar with the materials now :)
The colour combo is really pretty especially with the purple turtleneck. I'd be tempted to instead drop the centre squares on the front and make a cute 70's style waistcoat with some big buttons.❤
I found the yarn finally at Joann’s last week. Lots of fun color choices. About $8 USD. I may go back and get a couple skeins to try out. Thanks for posting this.
Yarn looks exciting, don’t think it’s available in uk!! I think you’re right to make the cardi with them, or even your other idea of doing different sides and straps, to make it your style. But liked seeing how the squares work up 🥰
I was very curious to find out what your sisters colour preferences of the Granny Square yarn were? You mentioned that she likes several colours that aren't ever in the store, so it made me wonder what shades they were?? I'm from Australia so can only get this yarn online, and it costs $25 per skein, so quite a lot!
yeah that fit is not quite doing it unfortunately… online there’s versions of the pattern for XS-3XL but the pictures of the models in it are definitely on the more petite side of that range, so it’s more of an oversized fit on them i hope you can find a pattern using these that works better for a sweater vest for you !! the colors are super nice together
This was definitely the wrong size. The size xs/s/m only uses 20 squares. This was the l/xl/2x size, which uses the 24 squares since the larger sizes includes the side extension.

My tip for the future is to buy a regular skein of the last color for the squares, and use that to supplement if possible
I love your idea of making the vest shorter and removing the shoulder and side squares. Love your personality! ❤
You got the Cardi Started!!! No Waste! 🤗🎉
I like making bags to put my crochet in.
That's a quick sewing project to do

I'd add sleeves (either long or short).Nice project.😊

The soft white pink punch, reminds me of a Barbie outfit
I love the kind of cropped look, without the bottom row. The stiffness has always been my main issue with Red Heart though.
I actually grabbed this yarn (in the Amethyst) to knit a travel blanket with and it's so delightfully ugly like a Carolina Hornets Jacket from 1997
rlly on a vest mode!! 😂😂😂😂

When you held it up off your body it was giving marketbag/grocery bag 😂. Repurpose for cardigan for the win!!!!

I agree about the shoulders
I liked it...I like the boxy with the turtle neck, but thats me🥰
love your video!!
I like to see how you turn the boxy vest into a cardigan ❤
I made this same vest but not with this yarn and it fits so weird. I am turning it into a blanket.
If I wanted to add sleeves to this and make it a sweater, about how many squares would I probably need? I usually wear a size small.
Just curious, did you follow the graph pattern, for assembling the vest, from the inside of the label?
idk if anybody’s ever told you this but you sound just like jenna marbles and it’s all i could hear the whole video, love this design!
She reminds me of Jenna Phipps, who also has a crochet channel but nowadays is doing an amazing job renovating an abandoned home! :)
Sew up the bottom and nake a tote out if it fir other projects or shopping.
Can you do a how you style your hair video 😻
I just got this yarn at Joann's for $7.99
I like the colors but not the boxy fit.
The reason you don’t like is because it to big try making maybe your smaller like the may like it then OMG thank you
Do not unravel it just crochet a normal sleeves and normal color and put ribbon and Walla!!! It’s a sweater granny Square.
I think the shape is boxy and looks off because they had styled it with a crew neck under as well! 🙄😒
