I really enjoy your time lapse type videos. It is so nice to see a podcaster finish a project!! So many times I have wondered what happened to this or that project, and it is never seen again. Thanks for a great channel!
I really got back into crochet during Covid. I came across a video on RUclips from Salena Baca. She’s the founder of the American Crochet Association. Oh my goodness! I learned sooo much. I love, love the community and the support. Last year I got back into knitting after 30+ years. It’s just so much fun learning new techniques. Right now I’m making up a backpack for my sister. This one I decided to knit, crochet and Tunisian crochet. I love all 3 so I’m combining them. I showed her my progress this morning since I wasn’t sure would she like the transition. 👍🏻 from her.
So funny, Saw this pattern on the story of my LYS for their wip Wednesday. Decided to pull out my colors and start this morning 😊 can’t wait until it’s done so I can make my girls one. Your vest is so lovely, adore the color combo.
I have crochet/knit this vest and I love wearing it! The crochet and knitting combination should be used more in patterns 😊 Thank you Kaci for another wonderful video ❤
Loved everything about this video! I started crochet lessons this fall and definitely want to make this vest. Thank you for sharing your beautiful makes with us. ❤
I'm using the exact same colour way of the Biches et Buches lambswool as the main colour for my Heirloom Quilt Cardigan. It's one of my all time favourite yarns as well. I've made a shawl and find it soft enough around my neck. Loved this project video you made and the music and scenery from your life was just beautifully atmospheric!
Love the finished sweater vest! I made a granny square cardigan last year and crocheted over my ends as I changed colour in each granny square - it saved SO much time on weaving in ends, and it's held up with lots of wear. I'd recommend that if you ever make more granny squares!
Thank you for this tutorial video, Kaci. I’ve been wanting to make one of the crochet/knitting sweater projects and this vest looks like a good place to start. Yours looks great on you ❤
Such a brilliant video! Thank you for taking us through the process - and yes these kinds of project videos are great - and I love how it turned out. I’ve had this vest on my Pinterest boards for a LONG TIME and I’m so glad you chose to work it. Also lovely to see your farm -ranch? and the beautiful countryside.
Great video! I think the lighting was great during your project progress portions of the video. It was easy to see the colors and also, your pretty face. Sometimes there seems to be a shadow on previous projects and I personally have a more challenging time to see your beautiful works. Thanks for changing things up and sharing all of your creativity Kaci! ❤
I like these projects videos the best. also a suggestion for dealing with crochet pain. If you make a polymer clay handle for your hook, and squeeze the handle til it take the shape of your unique hand shape, it helps a ton with pain.
Nicole! I’ve missed seeing your knits! So lovely to hear from you. I really hope you are having some good days! Also thank you so much for your kind words as your channel is one of the main reasons I started trying to up my knitting game. I wanted to make all the lovely things you made 😘 xoxo thank you for your priceless inspiration
I actually made two of these vests a year or two ago, so I was confused when I saw you were testing it, ha! I definitely had sizing issues so I hope she's sorted all those out so more people can make this - it's really cute. I made one of mine in Blue Sky Woolstok Tweed and it's basically an aran so it was thick and kinda cozy!
Thanks for the lovely video, Kaci! Such a great vibe. Here fall is also in full swing... and when you prepared the for soaking the vest in the tub I really wanted to get a warm bath as well 😅
This is a beautiful project! I learned to crochet before I learned to knit, so I am very comfortable with both. I love granny squares except for all those ends to weave in. Your color palette is perfect.❤🧶
The vest is really cute! I'm currently making the Jethro sweater by Tanis Lavallee. Very similar to the vest; it's granny squares with a knitted hem, button band and sleeves. May be the fastest cardigan I've ever made! Highly recommend the pattern.
I’m on my third vest, now! I made a mini version for my granddaughter and she got many compliments at the pumpkin patch last weekend. I made a matching set for her and her Mama. Now I’m WIPping my own. I’m MrsSandyKrout on Ravelry. ❤ Love your color choices.
I also love Bishe et Bushes, in fact Im using it right now for my Westknits GoGo Dynamomkal shawl in Dark Gold and Beige ( with hot pink mohair pop). It’s a great yarn if you need to unpick as the stitches stay put - and there’s been quite a bit of that I’ve made a Birkin from Le Petit Lambswool and it’s one of my favourites to wear, light and warm and not much pulling. I have recently started crocheting as my Mum’s granny square rug went walkabout in the Home but boy it does hurt my left shoulder - weird as I hold my hook in my right hand, so have to take it slowly. But I have learned to crochet in my ends as I change colours - just go over the end with the new colour, or slip stitch it to a spot you can crochet over without it being visible: so I only have the start and finish end to weave in, or like you use it to sew together. Try it!
Its so interesting that techniques different depending the crocheted, I've watched several people make the same squares entirely differently. Its much different than knitting. I crocheted before .I knit but pretty much did only a couple stches patterns that are now preformed so much differently. Its very strange. But thank you for sharing your vest. I like the pattern it is very versatile.
My Ariana cardigan is also in timeout! I keep thinking I need to finish it...because I want to wear it...but then I keep casting on NEW projects. Also, my crochet skills are advanced beginner at best, so I am less confident.
hi, do you know how much yarn is needed for your granny square? Would 320 meters (349 yards) be enough, or should I just buy 160 meters (174 yards)? i was planning to use sport yarn. Btw, your vest looks beautiful!
research how to hold your crochet hooks like a pencil, very dainty like drinking tea! I crocheted half my life like you do (digging potatoes) I tried to hold it like a pencil and failed so many times, then I wanted to crochet doilies with very small thread.... it finally clicked and I have crocheted this way for 20 + yrs now, much much easier on the hands/ wrists and elbows!
crochet also bothers my carpel tunnel more than knitting does! But I don't think there's a 'right or wrong' way to do it. At least it's a little too late to change it now, I've been crocheting for over a decade!
Hi Casey. Try holding your crochet hook like a pencil instead. It might help, but i think a lot of us have the same problem with our wrists with crochet. Nothing beats knitting.😊
I just love your videos, they are so cozy. Your granny squares are gorgeous and the vest turned out lovely. I also get more hand fatigue when crocheting, I think its because I death grip my hook 😅 or pinch on it too hard and that causes some extra fatiguing

That’s such a great tip! I did that but still found I wanted to weave them in a bit Also because they were visible. Next time I will do a bettwr job
You did so beautiful 👌💗
Gorgeous vest🤩❤️

Love your color choices.
That’s so sweet! Matching sets are always a good idea. I’ll have to take a peek!
That vest is stunning! I don’t see the flaring you mentioned, not noticeable, thanks Kaci!
I think picking up fewer stitches helped a lot

Thank you!
Can't wait to try this pattern.
I’m so excited for you to make it!
Now that make 3 crochet/knitting patterns I have to make! Agnes, Ariana, Jethro. Will need to practice crochet first of course.
It’s pretty easy to learn!
I also love Bishe et Bushes, in fact Im using it right now for my Westknits GoGo Dynamomkal shawl in Dark Gold and Beige ( with hot pink mohair pop). It’s a great yarn if you need to unpick as the stitches stay put - and there’s been quite a bit of that

It’s amazing how many different ways there are to crochet the same square!
I love your music selections. Can you please give us a few recommendations? I find the tuns to be so relaxing. Thanks.
I really like this.
Hi. I'm pretty new to knitting. Can you share the mat and the blocks you used for blocking your vest? Thank you. Love your videos.
Yes of course! They are knit iq brand from Amazon. I got a bundle with them and some pins
My Ariana cardigan is also in timeout! I keep thinking I need to finish it...because I want to wear it...but then I keep casting on NEW projects. Also, my crochet skills are advanced beginner at best, so I am less confident.
I don't know how to crochet. I'm going to learn!
It’s a wonderful way to relax and create!
What kind of yarn did you use please?

Would have loved to have seen how you started the process of crochet to knit…..
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.❤❤❤❤
Hello Janet!
The Chilly Dog also has great tutorials. 8:11
I need to look that up! Thanks
I'm really enjoying the background music. Who is the artist?

I couldn't tell if you blocked your squares before joining? That's something I was debating on doing with mine
Ohp! never mind, you said it at the end! 🙃
I did not block the squares before joining! I ended up just blocking it all at once
crochet also bothers my carpel tunnel more than knitting does! But I don't think there's a 'right or wrong' way to do it. At least it's a little too late to change it now, I've been crocheting for over a decade!
It would be hard for me to change as well
I can't find the pattern with the different sizes!! Help!😢
😍😍😍😍
❤️❤️❤️

Love your videos but the mouse click sound effect starts to drive me crazy after the first 10 times . Maybe others love it.
I just love your videos, they are so cozy. Your granny squares are gorgeous and the vest turned out lovely. I also get more hand fatigue when crocheting, I think its because I death grip my hook 😅 or pinch on it too hard and that causes some extra fatiguing
Me too!!
Is the family photo knit project still in the hopper for this year or is it more long-term? 🧶 💗
