This was an awesome video! Five Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So many people comment that they are afraid of making mistakes and you are instrumental in reminding us all that mistakes are okay and (almost) always fixable! What freedom that brings as we interact with God's Word. 🤩 I had so finely sharpened a colored pencil that it actually cut through my Bible page when I was boxing some verses. First second(s) was... panic when I realized, then I calmed down and headed into HowToFaithALife mode....I can fix this! I got out my Document Repair Tape and placed it on the opposite side of the page. Voila!!! Page Fixed! Keep up the awesome work, Faith. You are getting a new generation into their Bibles and LOVING God's Word! ✝💜
Faith, I’ve been following you for about two months. God has used you to reignite my passion to deep-dive study His word! I’m also a seminary graduate (many years ago) and a complementarian, so I get it. Thank you!!! 💕
Yes, please share more of your note-taking tips! Your Bible journaling style is along the lines of my style of junk journaling. I was heavy into creating my own journals and decorating the pages with flips, tip-outs, flaps, tags and pockets. I had a YT channel and Facebook groups, but I got totally burnt out and stepped away from that craft and my YT a few years ago. Your zeal for Bible study and your beautiful, journal-style Bible are bringing me back 'round to it again, yet in a whole new light. My advice for getting the torn paper-bag look is to attach strips of the torn bag you removed to your Jim Holtz (haha, love his "new" name) paper flap you just added. Just frame the new paper with a frame you cut off the old piece. Let the frame stick out a little on top. I love torn paper, and brown bags -- used them lots in my journals and cards.
This was so nice to watch. I've been getting hit with a wave of discouragement lately & seeing a sis make her bible notes all colorful gives me the warm & fuzzies ^_^
I appreciate your video. I just started writing in my interleaved Bible. Because of your videos, I'm not afraid of making mistakes. Everything is fixable and there is beauty in imperfections.
@@lizsim I try to get bit separated in the beginning. I cut about 2" of the trail I've peeled and put it under the end so it won't seal down again. It's been much less frustrating since. (It also helped to figure out which side was the paper & which was the "tape"!)
Little tip: loop a bread tie through the hole and around the document tape to keep it from unraveling. Love your content! Thank you for sharing with us. ❤
You're the BEST at Bible journaling on YT!!! You've got me (my friends too) soooo excited to do it more and dig deeper into God's Beautiful Word. Thanks for being on YT and can't wait to watch more of your videos.🥰 You're also the BEST, in my opinion on YT when it comes to sharing about God and His Word. Blessings!!!!✝️
I’ve been using Tim Holtz stuff for years for my mixed media art. Now every time I pick up his stuff I’m gonna say “Jim!” and giggle to myself…😝❤ Thanks Faith, for getting me back into the Bible. I love my interleaved version! I think the paper you used was fine, it was the tape. Or you can distress regular paper brown with coffee or ink and burn the edges or tear and roll them. Just ideas…
I was going to say that it looks like the brown paper used by Faith looked pretty thick and rough. If I was going for that look, I would probably buy a pack of brown paper lunch bags or use the smoother brown paper that is used as packing material, although I think the packing material is too thick for Bible pages.
SOOO glad you decided to add another page in!! Loved the brown-bag crumple paper but it did become a problem in your Bible. Have you seen parchment-colored paper? I have bought several reams of this paper because, like you, I'm a 'brown girl'. So be sure to check out copy/typing paper that is parchment color -- it has that look of antiquity we love, Faith!
I’m so glad you made this video! I got frustrated recently & took out all my flaps/cliff notes b/c my bible got too big 😮 Now I want them all back soooo I’m working on printing the cliff notes out on tracing paper & I picked up some document repair tape to attach new flaps for notes which btw the tape actually works great over the weak spots on the page where I had previously removed tape to keep it strong 💪 🤓
I love this! Also needed this because I beat myself up sometimes when I mess up on my Bible study notes. Like it has to be perfect but it doesn’t! Thank you for this it’s so encouraging. God bless you!
What video editing app or software do you use? Your transitions and colors are amazing!!! absolutely LOVE the content and who you are for this community!
I love your videos! God bless you. I have learned so much from you. Keep the content coming 🤗🙏🕊✝️ and a little tip. When pulling any tape or stickers, use a blow dryer to reheat the adhesive. Comes off very well.
I agree that the brown paper bag looks way awesome!! I'm a junk journaler who favors either girly Victorian lace and stuff - kinda shabby chic - or GRUNGE baby!! A brown lunch bag will give you the same look (and with thinner, less bulky paper) and it'll stick to your tape. But yeah, lose (sadly) the dollar store tape. Love ya!!
My dollar tree sells brown craft paper in a roll like wrapping paper, at my store it's in the section with mailing supplies. I haven't used it in awhile so I can't remember if it's as thick as brown paper bags or not. Good luck I hope it works better.
I made, and will use, a watercolor paper. I used brown watercolor crayon and dabbed with water to give it an antique paper look. I also added a pretty floral stamp and used water color crayon to fill that in. Once dried, you can use another piece of scrapbook paper and write your note or use a dark pen and write your notes. It gives it a really pretty "old" look. I hope this makes sense.
To get the brown paper bag look you could use something called I believe it’s called post paper where I live, but most call it Kraft paper. I’ve never taped it into a Bible, but I have taped it into journals and it’s held up quite well. You can pick it up in rolls or in smaller sheets! it’s also what I use for pattern paper for sewing, so I’ve learned it’s quite durable.
@@homesteadgal4143 Yes, it is much thinner but still a bit more long lasting than construction paper as it is normally not as prone to discolouration with light.
7:39 ok so first off, you have completely inspired me to take notes and put them in my Bible like you do!! I’ve been doing this for a few months now and I’m loving how my Bible is becoming unique to my style!! I’m sure you’ve probably covered this is other videos, but I’m unsure, so I’ll mention it here 😊 So I take 95% of my notes during service on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, and I have a hard time drawing the arrows and planning out the look of those particular notes for that service…I don’t have a table in front of me, so it’s hard to prop something underneath my Bible or my notes paper, so…. Any advice? Love you so much and blessings to you!! ❤
I super appreciate this! Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks, they're so helpful! Wish I had an idea for the paper bag thing, 🤔 but I'm sure you'll come up with something!
Love this video and learning with you. How do you tape in your Book Synopsis and not have it curl on the open side? What weight paper do you use to print on? Thanks.
A little off topic but, here it is. When I hear that cute intro I picture you doing funny mouth noises and dancing like an Egptian. Love your videos. Keep them coming. When I get a printer I plan to buy some of your printable stuff.
Thank you for sharing, you're so fun and encouraging and I love following along on your Bible Journaling!! It has been very helpful to me to see what kinds of notes you make right in your Bible. I'm curious, I saw the Ephesians 6 video but I thought you mentioned another study, is that on your patreon? Thanks!
Loved this vid!!! One way I give off the teared paper bag look is just tearing the edges of my paper on one side or two sides before I put it in my Bible 🤍🫶✝️
Fun video. Loved getting to see your process. Now i want to go back and see when you originally put the notes in. For the brown paper look, I think they sell notebooks with craft paper, maybe Archer and Olive?
Looks amazing, but it truly makes me grateful I do all my Bible notes in my digital Bible on my iPad. I can do a breezy aesthetic but mistakes are so easy to correct. Which is good as I make a fair number.
Would you mind sharing what digital bible you use? I LOVE my Bible and will NEVER get rid of it but I’ve switched everything else to digital would love to have it all in one spot.
@@LifeAsAThomas , my physical Bible sits right beside me chair, so I agree about not getting rid of it. It is precious to me. But I do pretty much everything digitally. I own probably a dozen e-Bibles, but I can’t write in them. So I created my own digital Bible by copying all the pages from one of my e-Bibles. Most digital Bibles available are KJV because no permission is needed to use the text. I prefer a different translation so I made my own. It took me almost a year of copying and tweaking, but I’m pretty close to exactly what I want. There are several different digital Bibles offered, some are even free. I don’t think making your own is for the faint-of-heart - just the very stubborn. 😊😊
If you like that rugged edge of the brown paper, what you can do is tape your Tim holtz paper into your Bible and then on the untaped side, you can rip it organically or take a ruler and rip an edge off so it has that softer look.
Hi Faith, if you take a small piece of ribbon and tie it around the document tape it will keep it together end you just pull out what you need…. I hope this makes sense - I do it with my rolls of glue dots as well.
What about glue for the brown paper? Or use brown packaging paper, it's thinner. But it might want to curl so you would need to make it flat somehow. I love your videos SO much. I'm very new to Bible journaling. You've inspired me to branch out and now some of my Bible (I've only begun) looks like a Bible scrap book. I love it. 💐
Brown paper bags are still good IF you are using those thin ones. Usually get them when you buy in a lil boutique for earrings, or a small item at a chemist (drug store ??) maybe? - idk if your country has like, bakery/dairy/corner store where you self-serve pies or a confectionary slice into those lil paper bags? Anyway. Same bag flavour, less thiccc
I think I’m going to try tearing my paper down the side OR using my distresser tool. I use it often on my scrapbook pages-this might be a good way to use it in my Bible!

I have that tape. I hate when that happens 😮💨. So I taped the box👍😁 Now it works, yay. Butcher block paper. Looks like paper bags, but thinner. Ask the meat guy at the grocery store for a few ripped pages off the roll...and free🥂
I looked at the esv and nlt, niv, nasb, and csb, and they are missing scriptures, i am trying to figure out why i would like to know where they are getting this and saying that its not in early manuscripts then why is the KJV bible not missing verses
A trap I could easily fall into. My thoughts, a balanced lifestyle is so important. if you work full time at a regular job and have little kids, you probably won't have a Bible much like Faith's. The other temptation is to buy a bunch of resources, although so much is available free online. Even if you have the money, is that the wisest use? Some of my ideas. Please don't condemn yourself, we are all on a journey.
You can actually have more than one Bible and use each one for different things things, Where I live, there’s a Mission store and several other stores like Goodwill and all of that a lot of them in particular the Mission store give Bibles away for free all kinds of Bibles in general. They’re all in pretty good condition. Some of them are very old some of them have leather on them I’ve even gotten commentaries there , cheap cheap cheap and the dollar stores in particularly Dollar General but even the other dollar stores have so much craft stuff and the key is at the first one you go to doesn’t have what you’re looking for go to a different one somebody’s bound to have it and if not, just keep checking they get new inventory free day or every couple days😊❤
Faith 💟, I don't know why...but I'm actually looking forward to your future video titled "I'm retiring my Bible journal" and that you're starting fresh with a new Bible. It's becoming too much of a "prop" and perhaps leading some viewers to focus on the "goal" rather than the journey. 🙏🙏🙏

There is card stock at Michael’s that is called Kraft that gives that paper bag color.
To loosen tape so you can get it off without ripping the page, hit it with a hair dryer or heat gun. The heat melts the adhesive.

Can you do a short video on how you put your tabs on your bible
I saw a whole book of paper that had that old brown paper bag theme sorta feel to it... and I think it was at Hobby Lobby.
Couldn't you attach the edge of the torn paper bag to regular or scrapbook paper? So the flat edge could be in and the torn edge out?
Can you put the document tape roll on a tape dispenser? Or is the roll too big? I feel like I’ve seen it on a tape dispenser in libraries, but I could be wrong.
You could try ripping apart some corrugated cardboard? The paper on both sides of the corrugation is pretty thin, maybe it would be thin enough to not cause a problem?
Try coffee stain for the brown paper look.
You could find a tan coloring pen or crayon to just draw and color in the paper bag look. Or use a grocery bag from the store.
I put packing tape all around boxes like that to reinforce them.
That’s you I use a book for all my journals

Where did you get your gold balloon letters?
Is there a link for this bible you use?
I want to send you a box of journaling things where can I send it and I want to see you open it ok cause I love your excitement ok
Have you tried like coffee/tea staining paper instead of the paper bag?
That’s what I thought too!

Use a tape holder, mat be easier 😊
The clear window from an envelope from a piece of mail.
Just put a rubber band around your roll of tape to keep it from uncoiling❣
Paper Lunch Bags would replicate the grocery bag, but be lighter weight!

The other temptation is to buy a bunch of resources, although so much is available free online. Even if you have the money, is that the wisest use? Some of my ideas. Please don't condemn yourself, we are all on a journey.
@@mrsh2167 thank you. i love Bible journaling pens. so i recently got some more and thought, this feels like i am materializing the Bible.
Do you envision this being your life-long daily user Bible?
Faith has only been using this Bible for a few years - at some point she will need to start fresh or have it rebound again.
Have you ever thought about just putting all your notes in a separate notebook all together?
Why draw the arrow so looooong ??
Why not add the notes at the top of
that tip-in ??
Maybe glue the wrinkly bag onto cardstock
Are we allowed to send you goodies in the mail?
Most times when i screenshot your notes, they are blurry. Lol
How you a pastor?
Don’t you ever just want to begin with a new Bible?
You can actually have more than one Bible and use each one for different things things,
Where I live, there’s a Mission store and several other stores like Goodwill and all of that a lot of them in particular the Mission store give Bibles away for free all kinds of Bibles in general.
