Totally using this now. I like to limit resources - especially at early stage of a campaign. Being able to then expand the resource availability as parties progress is SUPER cool!
I did not know this module. I was looking for something like this. So I will use it ! I very much would like to see the other options of this Monk's enhanced journal :) Thank you for the very clear explanations, being a french speaking person, I did understand all of it.
This is a bit older than i usually comment but I would use this mostly on shops that don't have a lore reason or any story to them at the moment, maybe with some voice lines on the shop keeper but that would be the most i would do with this. Just a way for my players to buy some stuff without me reading the list as the other part of the party for example are talking with a story npc that will tell them what is going on in city X
Thanks for the video, well done! I was running a game last night and the party wanted to sell a bunch of items at the local general store. I just advised them to calculate buying cost, multiply by .25 and add that amount of gold. This will give them the ability to just do it themselves. I was curious if there was a way to add such things as "Room - Comfortable" or "Beef Stew" to the rolltables if I wanted to create an Inn or Tavern interface. There only seems to be the 'ration' option (as thats whats in the compendiums..
I answered my own question! I've created a bunch of "Consumable Items", such as "Beef Stew" and "Single Room"... picked icons for them, and edited the description. Then I drag and dropped the items into a "Tavern" roll table - and voila! An Inn where the players can click on the icon, and order up food, drink and rooms
THANK YOU!!! In our haste to upgrade our server, I neglected to update the pointer for that link! WOW. Thanks for pointing it out. It should be working fine for you now. :)
Hello Max. I LOVE Monk's Enhanced Journals for merchant stores. I actually did a whole video on it. It's super simple and very powerful. I don't use Item Piles for merchant stores at all.
Not working for me. Once I created the Journal Entry for a shop as per the instructions, I log in a separate browser as one of my player and do not have the "Purchase" option appearing. FoundryVTT v9, using Chrome (DM) and Brave (player). Using Monk's Enhanced Journal latest version. PS: I set the permission for the journal entry to "Observer" for All, BTW.
Hi there... so, just to be sure that you are logged in as both a GM *AND* a player, otherwise that purchase option will not work. Feel free to reach out with more questions.
Interesting. I do not run PF2E. However, I did look to see if they mention its compatibility and they do not.. Thanks for posting. Hopefully, they will upgrade to include support for that system.

Welcome to DM'ing! Glad you found this useful! I'm sure you'll find many of my other videos helpful as well. ENJOY!
I would use this ! I found this video because I was looking for something like this!!!
I use it. I love it. The only complaint I have received is “it’s getting too close to a video game.”
Yes, I've heard that as well. Not too often - but I have heard it. Seems to be coming from the hard-core tabletop fans. :)

Your discord link does not work.

I didn’t see any links to Axium. Other than that, well made. Thank you very much.
You're right. We neglected to add it. Will add it shortly. Thanks for pointing that out!
Are there advantages to using Monk's Journals vs the Item Piles merchant do you think?

@@asmodeah I'll have to try again, I couldn't quite get it to work as merchant's in 2e but item piles did let you create full blown merchants

I would not use these unless your system is 5e as I am sure these are only for 5e I tried these and all items vanished in my pathfinder 2e game
