I’ve been having the same problem with some of the Reader Rabbit games. I’m 20 years old and every time I find these types of games buried under stuff I immediately get them out and play them
SAME. I ONLY EVER REMEMBER THE KITCHEN AND THE VENDING MACHINE/CAFETERIA. SAME SAME SO MUCH SAME. THIS GAME WAS FIRE. IM TWENTY FUCKING THREE AND TOTALLY DOWNLOADING IT
I remember filling kids' trays entirely with french fries or ice cream and laughing my ass off when the kid said something like, "That's too much!" in that weird, nasaly voice, only to devour it all in one bite when the time ran out. Or, their tray would have nothing and they would just eat air. Good times. x'D
This was my childhood! I loved the cooking game. Sometimes I'd get the recipe wrong on purpose just to hear Franky say "OH NO, THE GLOP MONSTER!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"one whole tray of...FRENCH FRIES" woah girl calm down there XD some of those combos are hilarious. I remember quite clearly when I was a kid getting a kid who asked for a whole tray of ice cream and trying to use that to convince my family to let me have ice cream for dinner.
Katie T That's fantastic... I remember once a kid asked for a while tray of chicken, and to make matters worse, the kid was black! It's random, but it was SOOO hard not to make a stereotype joke
YES! My whole childhood were these super fun educational games. I'm so tempted to find them somewhere and save them for when i have children. as well as older nick jr educational cartoons. gotta give my kids the best, not this modern crap.

The chocolate chip cookie recipe actually makes some pretty good cookies. I remember coping it down onto a notecard and being so proud of myself for making cookies on my own. Ah the memories
I played that too but I hope the clock game will become an actual board game and include 13 o clock and *24 o clock (known to us as midnight) *first player to reach Midnight wins and ring the tower chimes
So nostalgic my chest is about to burst daaaamn man such a cool time to have been a kid 91' over here. I remember sitting down in front of that big ass cube of screen putting in work for hrs and hrs like it was yesterday wow...
I remember the bottle cap game, fraction lunch trays, the vending machine game, the marble game, and the nursery rhymes. This game saved me in my early education 😂
This brought back so many good memories and nostalgia. 😭❤️ I played this endlessly at my aunt and uncles house as a child. Such happy times. RIP Aunt Roz ❤️
Pretty sure the Glob Monster traumatized me. I would run away from the screen when I knew I'd messed up, just so I wouldn't hear or see him. What a time.
Same with my siblings and I. I never understood how that was supposed to be a pterodactyl noise and who made that sound? How do you even make it because I've tried and can't replicate it.
OMG I would totally pay money to play this game. I loved choosing a pog when you got 100 points! And the haunted house artwork stickers... and the lunchroom food game...
I legit remember playing this when I barely started kindergarten and I would have vivid dreams of this game reading me a story with a drawing of an egg AND THE PICTURES OF THE FOOD WAS INSANE TO ME
2:37:05 *I'VE WAITED 2 HOURS FOR THIS MOMENT.* Also...I find it hilarious that I, a 20 year old woman, actually learned something new from a 27 year old children's edutainment game. ((In this case, my uncultured American-self learned WTF "vegemite" is. Apparently, it's an Australian bread spread made from brewers' yeast extract & other spices.)) So, Lol, I guess. I would have loved this game as a little girl. The only edutainment PC game I had growing up was School Zone's "Time, Money, and Fractions" disc. This Jumpstart game blows it out of the water. XD
23:20 FOR YEARS, my sister, dad and I had this running joke where we would say “pioneers and wagons” in that thick accent but couldn’t remember which Jumpstart it was from. Randomly stumbled upon this video and I finally found it… nearly 20 years later. 🤣 The nostalgia!!!!
My sister and I were just talking about this game and I had to look it up. We thought we were the only ones that played this. So many good memories of playing this after school on the computer .
Oh my God! I vaguely remembered this game from childhood but could never remember the name of it! Can't believe it's just popped up in my recommendations! 😂
I never thought I would find this game again, I played this way back in the early 2000s and late 90s when I was very young and remember the cafeteria scene vividly. This is so awesome.
Ahoyhoy! those kids engorging their little stomachs will always make me laugh , even when I'm elderly I'll laugh at this. also, I will forever be mortified by the custodian in the cupboard. creepy fellow, isn't he? but I literally cried when my copy of this CD ROM got brittle after 15 years of gameplay. it later disintegrated . I was so melancholy .I am thankful folks like you still post nostalgic videos so's I can still reminisce.
I always laughed my head off at 2:36:38! That eating animation is freakin' hilarious! Oh, if only I could get this game running on Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).
***** I wonder what's stopping my copy from working, then… Maybe my disc is too scratched? Maybe there's something in the registry stopping it from running? Keep in mind, this is the UK version I'm trying to run (Jump Ahead Year 1), whose installed files date back to 1995. Maybe there are some internal differences between my copy and yours? Y'know, Jump Ahead Year 2 won't run on my computer, either, despite running almost perfectly on Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit) on a Dell Inspiron 6400. Maybe 32-bit OSes are just better for backward compatibility? I dunno.
I just watched macdoseit play the newer gen of the jumpstart games. They suck btw. But it made me remember this game. This is the one I owned and the song at the beginning and his voice just makes me so happy and remember my childhood! Thank you for playing this.
oooommmmgggggggggg I am screeeeeeeeaming!!!I looooooved this game... omg I love youtube so friggin much right now lol .. thank you so much for uploading this
Yes girl , I’ve been looking up the few cd games my mom got me when I was younger and watching hours of content people have uploaded, it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside.
NOSTALGIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I remembered and sang along with the Frankie jingle at the beginning and that's when the nostalgia really hit lol. played this game in the early to mid 2000s, after the pogs fad had died out, so as a kid I could never unerstand why I was collecting and playing with "caps." It wasn't until much, much later that I learned what pogs where.
+wiiplayer9revisited That was in later printings of this game, and the same voice actor also voiced Professor Quigley in LeapFrog's Letter Factory and Talking Words Factory videos.
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REMEMBER THIS GAME FOR AGES!!! I THOUGHT I HAD JUST DREAMED ITS EXISTENCE
tizzytiger100 same!
tizzytiger100 same i just found it!!!
FUCKING SAME I AM ACTUALLY IN TEARS
I've been aware of it for a long time, and I've always remembered it, but I was watching an LGR video on it, and it brought the Nostalgia back.
I’ve been having the same problem with some of the Reader Rabbit games. I’m 20 years old and every time I find these types of games buried under stuff I immediately get them out and play them
Dude. The pictures of the food in the cafeteria blew my mind when I was a kid.
It seemed so hi-tech.
Agree! I remember thinking “you can’t have just ice cream and cookies for lunch!” 😂
Same!
I know, right?! I was shook.
Me too.
The only thing i remember of this game is the cafeteria mini game and im losing it
memefreckles I've never felt such aggressive nostalgia slap me in the face. "I would like ONE WHOLE TRAY OF PEAS, please! thank you *snarfle snarfle*"
SAME. I ONLY EVER REMEMBER THE KITCHEN AND THE VENDING MACHINE/CAFETERIA. SAME SAME SO MUCH SAME. THIS GAME WAS FIRE. IM TWENTY FUCKING THREE AND TOTALLY DOWNLOADING IT
ME TOO!!! the cafeteria part was my fave!!
"please give me two thirds ice cream "
Omg same 😂
All the memories... all of them... my head hurts...
The nostalgia 😢
This game has lived rent free in my head for like 20 years
Same
2:37:02 does this meme count?
I'm 29 in 2023 and am bowled over with nostalgia from 23 years ago. Thanks so much
Same here! I want to replay it so bad, just to relive it
im only 20 but i played this a lot when i was younger
I am 27 now in 2024 and I want to play this game just to relive the nostalgia🥹
I remember filling kids' trays entirely with french fries or ice cream and laughing my ass off when the kid said something like, "That's too much!" in that weird, nasaly voice, only to devour it all in one bite when the time ran out. Or, their tray would have nothing and they would just eat air. Good times. x'D
I remember if the kids wanted peas or beans, I'd just give them fries or ice cream and go "THIS IS BETTER!!"
This game was made before Papa Louie made his debut.
I agree
Mine was the vending machine.
Lmbo!!! Yes!!!
This is the perfect learning game. Other developers take note.
I'm crying this was my entire childhood. i remember every voiceover and game. I'm going to watch the whole thing.
Same
@Erika Anne Roth YES, hi! I guess we both found the Jumpstart 1st Grade to GMM pipe line, hahaha.
(Sighs) It's just 1st grade.
omg same! i remember all the sounds and voices and I started crying. missed it a lot
This was my childhood! I loved the cooking game. Sometimes I'd get the recipe wrong on purpose just to hear Franky say "OH NO, THE GLOP MONSTER!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
Hahaha. You did it on purpose? You're so brave 😂. I was really scared of making a mistake because I didn't want to see the glop monster 😂
"one whole tray of...FRENCH FRIES" woah girl calm down there XD some of those combos are hilarious. I remember quite clearly when I was a kid getting a kid who asked for a whole tray of ice cream and trying to use that to convince my family to let me have ice cream for dinner.
Katie T
That's fantastic... I remember once a kid asked for a while tray of chicken, and to make matters worse, the kid was black! It's random, but it was SOOO hard not to make a stereotype joke
2:37:37
Seeing this made me think “Isn’t that illegal?”
You are a saint for playing this game for 3 straight hours...my sister and I just reminisced so hard!! Thank you!
I have a very distinct memory of the dog saying "yeast!" During the cooking part and I'm very disappointed I didnt hear that
six year old me has a distinct memory of that too. you can't unyeast a memory like that
Same, he says it- I know it!
Ahahaha I remember this part too!
he does say it, but he didn’t here
He sounds a little different too so I think they changed a tiny bit to this game
I loved playing this. It brings back so many childhood memories 💕
I am now 29 and if I had the chance, I would STILL play this! 🥰
Yep, this was my childhood too, but I'm only 21.
The food tray game was my favorite. Almost 25 years and I still remember it like yesterday. Good ol nostalgia trip. Thanks for that :)
"Now where did I bury that 40?"
Trust me, Franky, we've all been there.
Franky was speaking to future me.
2:12:13 ERROR YOU HAVE ENTERED TOO MUCH MONEY
Whoever thought of giving the vending machine the voice of a lady with an Indian accent is a genius 😆
Lol *eRrOr YoU hAvE eNtErEd ToO mUcH mOnEy*
Dang. Never realized that. When I was little I thought it was a weird Russian/vague European accent.
I thought it was supposed to be a robot/mechanical voice.
Who else is watching this in their 30s, just bawling their face off??
I’m 23 and played this in around 2007 😅
I wanted to relive “OH NO, IT’S THE GLOP MONSTER!!!!”
I'm 35 yrs old and still watching this I miss being a kid
Crying omg my childhood memory unlocked
Omg yes me right now 32 and got butterflies
DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER READER RABBIT? THAT GAME WAS GOOD TOO, LOL
or clue finders ommmmmggg
YES! My whole childhood were these super fun educational games. I'm so tempted to find them somewhere and save them for when i have children. as well as older nick jr educational cartoons. gotta give my kids the best, not this modern crap.

I was born in 2000 but had this game. Never got tired of it, same with learning ladders. Despite everything, I had a happy childhood
The amount of hours I played this game was INSANE , where my 92 babies at
I played that too but I hope the clock game will become an actual board game and include 13 o clock and *24 o clock (known to us as midnight)
*first player to reach Midnight wins and ring the tower chimes
3:10:36 I will now play for you the anthem of my childhood that has stuck by me for twenty great years

I remember the bottle cap game, fraction lunch trays, the vending machine game, the marble game, and the nursery rhymes. This game saved me in my early education 😂
What memories. But looking back, you never realize how small this game was.
Same! My sister's would make him come out on purpose to see me cry!
I’m sorry to hear that

Same with my siblings and I. I never understood how that was supposed to be a pterodactyl noise and who made that sound? How do you even make it because I've tried and can't replicate it.
Hahahaha. I don't even know but I always attempt to replicate it anyway. My friend said give us your snapchat and he'll replicate it for you... lol :|
rika hubbard For me? Haha nice but I don't have snapchat -_-

The lunch TRAY game was so funny, the way they gobbled the food up and the noises kills me 😂

Oh my goodness! The baking part of that was my absolute favorite! As well as the cafeteria game!
My sister and I were just talking about this game and I had to look it up. We thought we were the only ones that played this. So many good memories of playing this after school on the computer .
The memories! Wow. I remember laughing my ass off serving lunch making them say "One quarter tray of Thank You" hahaha
Thank you 😊 I was four when I first played this. Now I am married and have an almost two year old. Time flies!!
Thank you, Ling! I used to play the game when I was little!
My gods! This game has lived in the recesses of my brain for like 20 years! I'd play it in school along with the Carmen Sandiego games.
The nostalgia 🥺🤧 I love this. Thank you so much.
My childhood: ERROR! YOU HAVE ENTERED TO MUCH MONEY
My childhood: It's 12 o clock Noon

Oh my God! I vaguely remembered this game from childhood but could never remember the name of it! Can't believe it's just popped up in my recommendations! 😂
Aghhh the nostalgia is real! I would play this all the time when I was little! In the books I would always replay the phrases over and over.
After all these years of searching, I have finally found it. Now the archives are complete
I was so emotional watching this! I have so many memories as a kid! Thank you so much!
NOSTALGIA TO THE HIGHEST DEGREE!!!!. I AM SO HAPPY❣️❤️ I ALMOST CRIED WATCHING THIS!!!!!
This was the best part about school tbh.
Oh my God, I can't believe I remember this game! I used to play it back in preschool.

Wow, unlocked a part of my brain with the nostalgia. Cried a bit but thank you for uploading, amazing!
I always laughed my head off at 2:36:38! That eating animation is freakin' hilarious! Oh, if only I could get this game running on Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).
You did?! How?
***** Was this on a 64-bit installation, or 32-bit?
My copy installed, but won't run no matter what I try.

Man this brings me back that cafeteria game went hard

I just sang every single song in the video..I loved this game so much!
I just watched macdoseit play the newer gen of the jumpstart games. They suck btw. But it made me remember this game. This is the one I owned and the song at the beginning and his voice just makes me so happy and remember my childhood! Thank you for playing this.

Yes girl , I’ve been looking up the few cd games my mom got me when I was younger and watching hours of content people have uploaded, it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside.
I've been trying to find this game for forever! All I had to go on was a memory of that annoying pterodactyl cap that stuck with me from childhood.
Am I the only one that played this as a kid and still feels smart solving the 1st grade problems? Lol.
I have this version of the game, but in my disc, Frankie's voice sounds a little bit different.
+wiiplayer9revisited Really? This is the version that I remembered playing when I was a kid.
+wiiplayer9revisited That was in later printings of this game, and the same voice actor also voiced Professor Quigley in LeapFrog's Letter Factory and Talking Words Factory videos.
I don't remember mine having that lisp!
I noticed that his voice is different too! I remember him having a high pitched voice.
***** Me too.
I remember Jumpstart when I was little. I also remember other fun education we games including Imagination Station. Memories!!!!
