It seems the most common mistake people make when welding back together is not welding insides first, this leaves a good finish that doesn't need to be ground unless installing inner rail section and makes easier to back grind root pass from outsides for final welding, but each to their own !

Nice work brother!! I shortened mine crew cab down, but one thing I haven’t been able to come up with is what to do about the parking brake. How are you going about shortening the cable to keep the parking brake?

By the way, here in Pennsylvania cable clamps on brake cables are illegal for Safty Reasons and I can only guess many other States.
Lot work in a state where they want to ban gass cars and trying to close down gas stations might not be able to enjoy it very long. . Hopefully the sorry arse leaders fail.
