Thank you for the workbench tour, Frank. I've appreciated all of your carving videos to date. Your carving style has removed some challenges that knife-only carving posed for me. Cheers!
Hey Frank, I found your channel the other day and subscribed… I have been carving for about 8 years, still a novice…this is a great video, I’ll be watching for more. Thanks for sharing…I had a bad carving accident about a year ago, cut my little finger tendon and now just recovering but getting back on the horse Thanks again!!! Ed
Hello and thanks! These tools are super sharp and it doesn’t take much- my carving bench is a little unconventional but my focus has always been to let the tool skip into the towels and eventually they do get chewed up from the knives but that’s easier to deal with than if the gouges hit a finger. Glad you said what you did because we have to be aware of what we’re dealing with in this hobby! Frank
Very informative video and thanks for showing your set up. It looks like you do knife carving primarily, but I was curious if you've ever used the desk top dust collector for power carving. I do both knife and some power carving, but trying to figure out a good dust collection system for my power carving. A down draft table is another option I'm thinking about. But not sure which will work best.
Hello! I like the portable dust collection unit that I use, it also has 3 plexiglass pieces that fit in front and with a variable speed fan it creates a strong draft that should work well with a burr type power carver. The filter is visible in front so you’re more aware of cleaning it either by replacing it or taking it outside and brushing it off.
Wow! I thought my space was small! I just carve at a desk I got from Goodwill years ago for @ $15. I don't do power carving, so I don't need any dust collection. Just sit in front of a window in our family room and carve.
Great video, cheers Frank
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you very much!
An overall shot of the whole system would be ok too. Nice Job, I know it works from what I see.
