McNiece was busted in rank several times, always for off base shenanigans but everytime he fought he was seen as a leader and promoted again. They'd have given him velcro backed stripes if it was invented back then.

Today theyd kick him out. The military hates guys like Mcniece now. Seen tons of guys with his mentality get kicked out nowadays. Partly why the military can't find recruits.

Its cause of this man we Didn't loose WW2, He and his man where the ones dropped in Bastogne ( battle of the bulge) to call in supply drops for the 101st airborne. All the other major operations he was involved in were highly difficult and help to change the course of the war. The mow hawks and war paint were a nice touch

    I admire them so much.
Its a cliche but its true, they don't make like that anymore!

I'll bet this guy wasn't half the soldier he lets on to be. Or the other clowns in the "Filthy 13." How far do you think he would have gotten if Ronald Speirs had been his platoon leader.

How long would Spiers last if he made the same four jumps behind enemy lines that McNeice did?

Most of those 'clowns' died in battle. You'd probably die from an ingrown toenail. You're not fit to clean the latrines of men like that.

Jake was my great-great uncle. He was every bit the man and soldier he claims to be, and more. The man is humble beyond words. Never wished to brag, never wished to flaunt his achievements. What sealed it for me is that not once he spoke on how many lives he saved by saving the Battle of the Bulge. If that battle was lost the war would’ve continued for at minimum months, and there would have been untold deaths if that were to happen. Jake stopped it. And not once did he ramble on about how many lives his actions saved.
