I doubt the little Man realizes right now how fortunate he is to have a Father like you. My Dad introduced me to hunting when I was a kid here in Michigan, and I in turn passed it on to my best friend when we were young adults. Lost my Dad August 29th, and my buddy and I reminisced at the Memorial over several brewskis' about all of our hunting/camping adventures. He could barely put into words how much my Dad and I impacted his life. I'm actually tearing up as I type this. Cherish these moments.
That just makes my morning!. He's really a good little hunter focused and even called his shot. Can't ask for much more than that. And helped drag them too. I see a future Michael waddell.
I’m a huge fan of the .243. I bought one for my son when he was 9 (11 now) and the past two years I’ve used his .243 and left my 30-06 at home. Four deer with the .243 and they all dropped on the spot.
My son is 19 now and now uses a 30-06. I now reach for the light weight youth savage axis in a .243 that I bought him when he was 10 and leave the 300 win mag at home. Light, fast handling rifle with a great round.
Besides a few details this is the comment I was gonna write. More often than not, I hunt with my sons youth sized, synthetic Ruger American in .243 and it has performed well on Maine white tail.
Awesome! Great job little man. Iv hunted with a 243 for over 30 year's here in Saskatchewan. Iv killed everything with it, even a couple moose. 80gr ttsx barnes , driven fast. Amazing results.
@@navyguy6431 its amazing what they do. Iv shot alot of big whitetails with them. And each moose only 1 shot. The one I shot broke its neck, but my wife shot a big bull, weighing around 1200 pounds, right behind the shoulder at 150 yds. It went about 20 steps and fell over. Bullet was stuck in the ribs of.the far side. Also found you get the best accuracy if you push them near max loads.
Hey it’s great to see a dad with his son hunting together and to see a young man take a couple of nice deer like a big guy. Good job to both of you, congratulations!
Love this! My two young sons also enjoy "hunting with daddy" and their reaction while watching this was as if they were there in person with you! Made me smile a little. 😄
This brings back memories of hunting with my daughters when they were younger and getting their first deer. Good memories. We’re all still hunting together when schedules permit 20 yrs now. Congratulations to your boy on the nice does harvested. Love your videos WTW keep up the good work.
There is nothing better than a young man getting his first Deer. My grandsons are in their 20s now and I can remember them both getting their first Deer. Congratulations little man . Great shooting .
Maximum Point Blank Range for that boolot is 300 yards. Sight it in 2.5" high @100 yards, and you can aim dead on out to 300 with no more than a 3" rise or a 3" drop from your aim point. That's a whole lot easier, and faster, than messing with a dope chart & twisting dials.
@@roosterboy7357 No idea where the zero is. That's the beauty of MPBR ... zero doesn't matter. All you have to remember is to aim dead on out to 300 yards.
Love your videos. My favorite round is the 243. I sight mine in at 2" high at 100yds. No matter what ammo I use it's good to go up to 300yds. Just to be a jerk get a Christiansen arms carbon fiber for your son. They're worth it. I own two. One carbon fiber the other a 7mag long range. Both are tack drivers. Have fun! Keep making me smile.
You are doing a awesome job teaching your kids about hunting he new exactly where the heart was on the deer you are a good guy and a great dad congrat to your son for the deer
I love watching g when the kids get to shoot deer. My daughter got her first whitetail this season as did three other kids who’s dads I hunt with. Such a cool time. I think is dads we’re more excited than the kiddos. It sure if that was little mans first but he did a great job and made some impressive shots. Good job buddy! And dad for the teaching!
Ammo looks cool. But I normally don't do long winded comments on RUclips but I want to say I think you're an awesome father for taking the time to take your boy hunting. Life is hard. Time is a the one true gift anyone can give anybody. Its taken me a long time to really understand that. This past season I tried to keep my kids quite in the blind to no avail. We've I think all the deer we saw that weekend were all on the side of the road 😂😂 I know they would be better if I could separate them but its so hard to say yes to one and no to the other. It literally breaks my heart. They just won't shut up when they are together. Girl and boy, 9 & 5. If they only knew how much I love them both I really wish i had videos like this of me and my dad. I literally sitting here crying lol... You Rock man!
Way to go little man, I still use my 243 Remington for over last 40 year's. I have a friend who has averaged 10 dear a year and has shot the barrel out of his 243 or at least he thinks he has. Love seeing young kids enjoying the outdoors and keep using all those muscles one day be as big as dad
Love seeing kids carrying on the shooting and hunting traditions. Your very lucky to be out there enjoying that time with your son. I loved hunting with my youngest son, some of my fondest memories with him.

My older Rem 700 243 preferred 87 grain Speers. Dropped 4 different whitetails with that load. One shot in the boiler room -- dead. Which ever way they are pointing at the shot, dead right there or within 50 ft.
I've used Core-Lokt ammo since 1986 when I bought my Remington .270. I've put a pile of venison in the freezer over the years with that rifle and those "bull-lots". I like those rounds because they have the stopping power without tearing up the meat.
Man watching you and your son takes me back to when my son first started hunting, great times, he also used a .243 but no sled, wish he had one cuz he was 7 and as thick as a toothpick and a sled would’ve helped especially when he used his H&R single 20ga with 16” or 18” barrel, congratulations to the young man
