Thank you for sharing this Brett! It’s all so true. I’ve recently found that I don’t “need” anything that doesn’t contribute to my success or joy.

Thank you so much for creating this. I agree our words and self talk are so important, in fact what we tell ourselves is the driving force behind our happiness, peace of mind and ability to succeed. I stopped saying I'm so lucky years ago because I was taught to say I'm blessed instead but I do give my power away too often in other ways. And I understand that feeling of wanting to humbly down play my greatness. I struggle to accept praise even though I think I crave it. It's strange. I think I just need to fall in love with myself fully. Yoga is teaching me so much and I'm so grateful for my daily practice because it's literally changed my life in such a dramatic way, but I still have a long way to go and I'm excited to see how I progress and evolve as I take my power back with my self talk. Namaste 💗 You inspire me. Thank you.

I really want to hug you for hours for this GREAT podcast. It hits the nail on the head! I feel that I really have come a long way in the last years, discovering yoga and all the great knowledge and experience connected with it, but have been searching for exactly those answers for quite some time, and you just presented them to me. THANK YOU :) I sure will work hard on this language and find out more toxic phrases that I use in order to empower myself even more.

A lot of times others comment to me that I´m so lucky and it always makes me cringe a little. I have a prepared answer, "We make our own luck." It´s usually illicites a confused look and never an answer but if it makes them think, I´m also happy!

This was very helpful to me, for several weeks I have really been feeling that victim mindset and these words made me resolve to catch that and work on changing it!

Wonderful podcast, thank you. I can totally relate to all three, except for the last one, because I used to say or think (especially re other writers) You're so lucky... Took probably two years to realize every single person I said that to had paid their due, had put in the work, etc. I have so many writing instruction books around my house that I for so long thought would give me the secret answer to writing, while the secret to writing is writing lol. Slightly embarrassing, but who cares, now that I've stopped buying the books. The last book I bought a few years ago I KNEW even as I was buying it that I already had the skills inside to write what I wanted to write. Floundering and flopping around is so ungraceful, but if it gets me to where I want to go, I'm in. xo

My Dad used to say, “there’s no luck to it. Its all hard work.” And I understood that when I was about 34: which was great.

I was introduced to your videos from youtube and they have been a wonderful addition to my wellness practices, adding new ways to blend and improve mental and physical health. I really enjoyed your thoughts around these 3 phrases and took notes so I can easily reference for reminders. I did find myself conflicted about your reference to "Uplifted" as part of the "I need" discussion. Was this a test? :)
