    “Mounting block chess” can also be a sign of pain, or anticipating pain…but I’m sure you know that. He does seem like he’d make a lovely boy for someone

      Yes, he doesn't do it when we don't have snacks or he's being hand led. He is a good boy!

    Beautiful boy❤ i hope no one tries to ride him...I'm afraid he'll get worse with his pelvic injury 😢

    If I could afford another horse, I most certainly would adopt him. I can no longer ride due to 3 compressed vertebrae. He seems super sweet.

    I hope he has had x-rays, so you know for sure what the actual injury was. Just the hip drop and some pain doesn't necessarily mean broken hip.

    Very nice boy! Hope he can heal completely. You never know. We had a TWH that had an old hip injury. He would run around and fall on the injured side at liberty so we called our chiropractor and she said because it had broken and revealed, she couldn’t do that much, it gave us stretches for that quarter and did energy work to get him over old trauma. He never fell again and became a real riding partner.

    I do not think his pelvis is broken i think he just strained his ligament and that can look like it is broken because i had a horse do the same thing like this horse and i had him in a big stable that my horse could walk around in and it took him 3 months to heal up and after that i could ride him again but i never rode him as hard as i use to as he use to round up my friends cattle and the vet said that he think his pelvis was broken but after 3 months he was walk sound and we took him to a place to get a full body ex ray and we found out it was not broken but strained ligament of the pelvis and his pelvis was out of joint and we had a person who puts the joints put back in the right placement and my horse was walking like he had nothing wrong with him but i end up letting him be use for pony club for young riders that do not have their own horse and i was told just last year he had passed away from old age he was in 29 years old and he did not even act his age that is how well he was looked after by my best friend as i could not keep my horse anymore as i did not have a place to keep him and he was not a gelding he was a stallion and was so quiet and gentle with the children with special needs my horse use to lay him self down for the children with crutches for them to get on his back and nobody teach my horse to lay down he did that him self and he even did that for me when i seen him and i had the last ride with him just before he passed away and to this day i have not found a horse like him and i do not think i ever would and i miss my boy the black as i named him after the horse in the black stallion Tv movie show

    If hes calm and your vet thinks hes sound he might be great for kids under 80lbs to build confidence to go from pony to horse, like you said a nice leadline guy

    Your rope halter should be a little higher on his nose.

  • @jandunn3075
    @jandunn3075 11 месяцев назад +2

    I'm concerned that this is the second video I've seen of yours where your rope halter is so loose on the horse that if he were to get away and step on the lead running, it would break the cartilage in their nose. I wasn't going to say anything until the second video I've seen with a seriously loose halter.

    • @rhfarmstables
      @rhfarmstables  11 месяцев назад +3

      That particular halter is old and does flop down across the nose but it may be hard to see it is at an appropriate height. We would welcome a new halter from our Amazon Wishlist if you're unhappy with the state of our equipment.

    • @jandunn3075
      @jandunn3075 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@rhfarmstables if it's flopping down it's not on correctly. There was one point to another video where I could see nostril above the halter. A rope halter can be completely soft and floppy and still fit right.

    • @vernaxxx8940
      @vernaxxx8940 11 месяцев назад

      I agree, the halter is not adjusted correctly. The noseband is way too low. It should not be pressing on the soft part of the nose, it should be halfway up the head on the bony structure. You see this a lot on American videos, it must be annoying for the horses besides the risk of coming off

    • @songbirds3712
      @songbirds3712 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@rhfarmstablesI agree with you! While Chance’s halter is old and beat up, there is no problem with the fit. I am certain, tho, Chance would welcome a new halter and maybe a lead rope or two, from the individuals concerned about how you are using the current halter. Get ready, Chance……you should be getting a new halter soon!!

    This horse would be get for very young children to learn how to ride on if he is trained for them to be bombproof and teach this horse that it is ok for them to slide of the rump so that the children do not get kicked be this horse
