15:50 you can deactivate the checkbox and you don't need to confirm with the brake anymore. It think they added this for people with kids, where a kid may otherwise start fsd from the screen with you not paying attention :D
My model y just updated to V13.2.1 this evening. I'll do my 1st drive tomorrow. Update after 1st drive. Backed out of my garage onto the street, shifted into D then took me to Safeway. Handled a busy merge onto the freeway perfectly. Parked in front of the store. Did not expect it to park as the spaces are on the diagonal. Took me home just as well even pulling into my driveway. Just amazing.
@@richardtibbetts4946 You would let a buggy Level 2 'Supervised Driving' software drive elderly people around? What if they must jump in and take control very quickly to avert a tragedy?
Amazing update! Car is backing out of parking spots to start a ride. I bought my model y about 5 months ago. I can't believe how far the FSD has come in this short period of time. Fast forward another few years! Unsupervised will happen. Take a nap and wake up at your destination 😂😮😊
I got mine in April 2024 and I agree, the speed of progress with FSD has been absolutely insane. Cannot brain why everyone does not have a Tesla with FSD.
Just used it for the first time from work to home (40 minute drive). Amazing. There are some small things I could nitpick. It was slightly unsure of itself a couple of times but these would not have prevented the car from driving unsupervised. It slightly pumped the brake when a car appeared on a side street and it did some excessive hesitation when making a right turn at a stop sign. This is minor stuff that I bet will go away when the model size is increased. If I could save my work route I would never have to intervene because it felt so damn comfortable even on the rural roads I take with lots of curves. Unfortunately it still won’t pull into my driveway. Maybe 13.3 will do that.
FSD still won't pull into your driveway? You need to be patient for such a *complex* maneuver! After all, FSD software has only been in development for 5 years .
Is the ambient lighting flashing green in sync with the signal when the turn signal is on, then flips back to purple when it turns off? 5:14 time index?
Imo Tesla did wrong by only having one front camera. Mounting cameras on each of the top corners would have given it stereo vision and therefore depth, just like a human
@@JB-fh1bb Interesting thought. I like many have always thought it was a missed opportunity not having side views from very front corners thereby largely eliminating the difficult intersection creep-view that all drivers have in some circumstances. One intersection near me can be so difficult to turn left, when parked cars occlude sight lines, that I occasionally turn right and turn around. Some traditional cars have cams just for that situation, reducing need to stick nose into traffic to see traffic coming.
@@Mrbfgray 10000000%. I've ranted on this (to other people) before. All four corners to cover backing out too. There's one intersection that always comes to mind: a steep hill with a stop sign at the top, hedges and buildings right up on each corners and traffic coming across is free-flowing. Nosing in is one of the more dangerous maneuvers in that whole city and corner cams would unquestionably save lives
@@JB-fh1bb Yes rear corners too, good point. Sometimes minimalism goes too far. IDK what it would take in terms of FSD integration, but I'd like to have front corner cams on my manual cars, BMWs had that some yrs ago and I'm guessing others as well. Rear end cams wouldn't be as important for me as that's usually just parking lots, but what would it cost, not much.
@Mrbfgray One of the big one for me for rear corners is short front driveways in older dense urban areas: you have to nose in then back out in to sometimes busy roads. I think currently Tesla is kind of stuck since moving the cameras means throwing out much of the trained AI models but with the Cyber Truck it's a whole new form factor anyway, plus the new training approach. I think they would be able to add cameras soon if they chose to (and I really hope they choose to. I regularly see FSD issues that are almost impossible to fix without extra cameras or sensors)
Amazing video. It's great to see how smooth the Tesla now drives even in some difficult areas. I hope we in Europe will see the possibility to drive with FSD soon.

I think it's currently acting like a cab, delivering you at the destination. Until you can get out of the car and the car parks itself, they should add an option whether to park at the destination or not.
i love v13! It's still clearly imperfect as it auto-disengaged and told me to immediately take the wheel in the middle of a left turn yesterday! to be fair, it was nighttime, raining pretty heavily and the oncoming car had really bright lights, but this would be a blocking issue for unsupervised functionality fer sure. Having said that, v13 is leaps and bounds smoother and requires much less engagement from the driver. Tesla is an amazing product that just keeps getting better.
I'm wondering if you just took a moment to clean off your front windshield and get all those smears off that the sun was dramatically enhancing in front of the camera lenses if the car would have been behaved much better for those speed bumps that even you yourself had challenging time on seeing one of them. A clean window for you to view out always improves performance, even for the cameras.

What is criticised much in Europe is that a Tesla won’t slow down in front of a speed limit sign. Most other brands do it nicely, but Tesla will drive into a limit zone in full speed and reduce it later, that’s a bad thing, also visible in this video at minute 12:20, you are driving into a 35 Mile zone with 47 on your speedometer. This will probably not get an approval in Europe…
As a human I have missed quite a lot of speed humps . Trying to see a lump in same coloured road surface is extremely difficult. Hopefully when more cars are autonomous, they can get rid of speed humps.
I’d be interested to see if there is any improvement in basic Autopilot. I’m in Australia and the Adaptive cruise and Autopilot are okay, but you still get un-necessary braking, phantom braking and occasionally trying to steer into another lane or slip road.
Why 'when you get to a parking lot and the car sees parking spots' are the spots not highlighted on the screen where you can tap a spot for the car to park in?

I'm a huge FSD fan, but I think FSD with the current camera hardware will never be able to handle speed bumps without any clear signage. The depth perception required for speed bumps is so demanding that even people fail at it. In this case, most people depend on memory and anticipation, not perception. One way to overcome this is by somehow implementing the concept of memory and anticipation, where they make FSD aware of upcoming speed bumps, perhaps using map data. I personally think this is inevitable, as it's the easiest way (if not the only way) to overcome this issue with a vision-only system.
