30+ days cure time , wrap at 35-45% or 55-70% moisture by weight. First introduction might give them sore stomach til they are use to it. Feed with dry hay for a week to prevent digestive issues til they are use to it( give them a choice). They will eat the heck out of it all winter, keep the feed area sanitary.
Doesn’t hurt to have a good dry bale to feed alongside however if the baleage isn’t moldy I wouldn’t be afraid to feed it on it’s own. Guess it depends on your hay situation etc. Looked like nice feed to me👌👍
For us 30 cows will eat a bale and a half of round bale silage a day. If I'm only feeding a few cows I don't like to feed silage because the bales seem to go bad after 3 days of being open. Not sure about in freezing weather we don't really get that but our bales start to heat and smell a little funky after three days. If you can try and add more cows so the bale is gone in a day or two that's what I would do.
I kind of wondered about that and thought well maybe these feeder cattle aren’t enough so I might try giving this to the brood cowherd there’s 30 cows out there and see what happens I just wanted this high protein hate to go to these cows
I always introduce my newbies with both balage and a mediocre first cut dry bale to get them use to it.... your feed looks good they might not be use to it yet... let me know how it goes after a couple bales
Looks good

Looks good to me. As long as it's been long enough, they'll be fine.. doesn't hurt to have some dry feed..
