Wode Maya stops to get us one of his favorite street foods in Ghana, roast plantains with ground nuts. This was actually quite interesting and good, it reminded me of the Kelewele we tried days before, minus the spices. We later hung out talking about food and culture before I headed off to check out a Jamaican restaurant in Ghana.

Don't forget American too! 💖😋👋🏽💋
Wode maya show the real deal in Africa he is not biased
I’m from Nigeria 🇳🇬 but Ghana 🇬🇭 jollof has always been the best to me.. Nna make una no com for my head
An honest man. I hope to try Nigerian Jollof to compare one day.
You are not a Nigerian stop lying !!!!
LISTEN ITS FUNNY 1 YEAR AGO STEPHEN WAS SOMEWHERE IN JAMAICA MAKING AFRICAN DISH OCRO SOUP....HAVING STRANGERS TASTING HIS DISH ...AND LOOK TODAY HE IS IN GHANA 🇬🇭 ......THATS SOME...KURT SPIRTS ARE WITH YOU...GO FOR IT.
Wode Maya a living legend.. 🇯🇲🔥🇯🇲
I cook very old school no browning no sugar no ketchup. However, I’m older and learned from my grandmother and mother.
THE GHANAIAN JOLLOF IS THE BEST OF ALL AFRICAN JOLLOF PERIOD 🔎🍲
🎊🎆🎇🎉💝🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Wode Maya is loved globally Africans in every corner of the world love this brother....God bless Wode Maya.
This was absolutely beautiful, seeing all of you coming from different places coming together as ONE. Yes, we are all one people, taken from the Mother Land. You can tell a tree by the fruit it bears and the Mother Land only bears the best fruit, that is all of YOU! May the Almighty continue to bless you and keep you safe and prosper all of you greatly. Amen!
Am so grateful for these, its the little things that soak does that no one else does, that keeps me coming back
Jamaican jerk Chicken and oxtail are the best . Africans are not that great in cooking it . I’m from South Africa and I still vote for Ghana for the the best food ever , I love all Ghanaian food
🇬🇭💜
I saw here before here on RUclips, she left the states and started her own business in Ghana. I think Ghana is the new America or 'foreign for Jamaicans. There are lots of investment opportunities in Ghana.
My thoughts exactly!
Ghana will NEVER be farin for Jamaicans. Farin only applies to RICH counties with opportunity. To move to Ghana you have to already be rich or have money. That's not farin as we move ah farin to better our lives not fi struggle.
I pray this young lady finds a place for her business in JESUS NAME. I love jellof rice. I love all our foods in Jamaica..
Tilapia baked with fried sweet plantains
And the Ghana hot pepper sauce delicious 😋
If you know,you know
I agree with Maya about the jollof because even Wizkid prefer Ghana jollof 😂😂😂
Steve, everything Wode said about the JOLLOF is perfect explanation of the origin of it and how Ghana enhanced it! Now, with the Nigerian rice, they usually use parboiled rice, stoney are plumper and becomes mushy, so,then taste changes the flavour of their JOLLOF, Ghana loves jasmine rice a lot, so the JOLLOF or cooked white rice are separated when cooked! I personally believe that, because jollof depends mostly on the richness of the stew, I think we(ghana) make the best stew, with a lot of good flavours, so our JOLLOF always wins, my love! Hey Jilly. The best of all is Home made JOLLOF!!
the first Jollof I ever had was Nigerian but a Ghanaian lady made me Joloff and it was so rich. I still eat both but my preference is Ghanian
soal go stay with a family and see how they sweep the yard in the morning just like us. you will cry. also see the children pushing the tire with the sticks and how they knock the almond out with the stone just like us
What!what!unbelievable,yes,makes so much sense
My grandma used to roast plantains, corns, sweet potatoes and yellow yams while cooking on her wood fire in her outdoor kitchen in Portland.
Man I was happy seeing you guys in KETA. @SOAI VLOGS
I enjoyed this vlog, especially Wode Maya! He was really accommodating and funny as heck! I live in the US, but I think I would really love Ghana! Beautiful black people with beautiful spirits!
Yesss! They all seem like family 👍🏾
Yes,too funny 🤣 😆 😂 😄 💀 😁
The first time wode Maya try the food,he says take me straight to Jamaica, that's it man, love wode Maya
Steven, there’s also a Content creator that’s living in Ghana that’s Jamaican/Canadian. Her name on here is Rochelle, and her last name is Brown/Clarke.
YES.She has recently opened a food shop in East Legon,Accra
Yes, Rochelle is a fellow jamaican canadian like myself. Her new restaurant is called Crazy Burgers Gourmet ❤ If you have time to go by tell her we sent you!
I’m Ghanaian and my mum makes the best rice with oxtail tomato stew 🥵🥰
Ayyyyy nice!
Loved the Collab, propping each other up. Wode Maya is hilarious he doesn't sugar coat his thoughts, the shade was real and too good. Ms. Trudy is blessed to be engaged to an ambitious, intelligent, witty man who cares for his country and their future to move beyond surviving into thriving.
Thank you SOAI Vlogs, make something cute for JIBBY channel, it can be as simple as pampering each other with a facial or asmr feeding IDK just something.
This just HELPED ME so much!!! I’ve been wanting a Black History Month “fix” where it’s a street view of the MotherLand! 🇬🇭 Not a Hollywood production talking about MLK and MX and Rosa Parks! This is African American history too! THANK YOU!
My favorite Jamaican dish is Salt Mackerel Run Dung
Is beautiful to see ya skining and grinning with out argument and hate. This is how we need to act all the time.
This is like Christmas, the Ghana experience is truly life changing
SOAI you are absolutely *correct* at Jam-rock their food is a Ghanaian & Jamaican fusion so the rice and peas and Oxtail and the rest of the Jamican food that they have is *not* going to be exactly the same as it is in Jamaica. I follow a Jamaican on IG who works there and he said the same thing its a Ghanaian & Jamaican fusion
I agree and Ghanaians don't like sugar in their food unless it's pastries
My mouth dropped when he mad that comment Nigerian Jollof. 😭😂😂 Wode is hilarious 😂 wid dis Ghanaian chocolate. I enjoyed the bro-mance session. 😩🤣🤣
Jamroc sound like it should be renamed JamGhan fusion then. 🙆🏽♀️
*Wow!* I can't believe that you guys met up with deijah I love her and her youtube channel anybody that visits her ghana *definitely* need to try her food that she sells on her truck
❤️

Welcome to Ghana 🇬🇭 bro!!
🤣🤣🤣 conversations in this video are soo funny.
🤣
Good job keep it up God bless you and president wode Maya Africa to the world 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭❤️❤️🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲❤️❤️👍👍👍🙏🙏
New member from Kenya I saw our brother inlaw wode so I subscribe
Wode maya is so funny 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve only had Nigerian jollof; only one lady made it fantastic. However, other Nigerian jollof I can do without. That one lady’s jollof rice is addictive.
For us Senegalese, it's so funny to see how we West Africans are passionate about Jollof rice. I love Wode Maya's comment but I haven't tried yet any West African Jollof yet, unfortunately.
Truth is that, most of history about Jollof is false. Haven met Senegalese, it is not such a big deal or cooked even same. We just don't know who or where the jollof itself came from
@@accradogshow2902 am a Ghanaian but it is a fact it came from Senegal from the Wolof people even the name is evident enough
@@adjoa-anima you are saying what they told you. Did you see the first Ghanaians who brought it or have you seen the wollof people? There is no empirical evidence to support that besides the usual hearsay.
@@accradogshow2902 if it was indegenous to Ghana we would have been able to associate it with a tribe which we cant
There must be a source... no doubt. But not what we heard.
Respect to Woya for pulling up & showin love, i enjoy this vlog keep pushin mi G
EVERY COUNTRY FOOD TASTE DIFFERENT . DIFFERENT SPICES . 🤔🇺🇸
Big blessings Soai you and Julie Beautiful together she’s a very beautiful soul she Complements you love the videos of you all in Ghana Stay blessed stay safe enjoy life around the world ♥️👍🏽
We really are one people, it’s great how we can connect with ppl we share ancestry with.
The low light capability on the camera you use is 💯
O m g,don't get confuse soai,that was epic
Aaww, I'm so glad u took to the roasted plantain and peanuts! Of course it's an acquired taste, the roasted plantain and groundnuts,,but it's good tho! When u break it off, u just stick the inside of the plantain onto the groundnuts, and u get a few stick to the roasted plantain, then into your mouth. This way, u dont have to struggle to put them in your mouth separately. Hope I explained good!
Stew Peas, Jasmine rice, plantain, and salad straighhhhttttt
Stephen. You have taken your vision to another level fambo. I’ve been subscribed to Wode maya for a while as well.
I enjoyed this vlog and the fusion of culture. Stay blessed and safe Jillie and Stephen🙏🏿❤❤🇨🇦
Wode Maya said in one of his vlogs that he wanted to come to Jamaica and added that (HE,... WODE MAYA) was going to put Jamaica on the map. People say a lot of things,... and sometimes their mouth is in gear before their brains is fully engaged. Find a country any country and go into some obscure side street, then ask the first person you meet to name someone from Jamaica. Then ask them to name someone from Ghana. Oops Jamaica is already on the map, who knew, right. Ghana is 22 times larger than Jamaica. Jamaica has a population of 2.9 million compared to Ghana almost 30 million. Look... just come to Jamaica bro, "mi casa es su casa" it's all good. We all have DNA from Ghana about 1/3 of mine is from Ghana. It's the Mother country we love you all and pray for you to be successful in all your endeavours. One Love.
Ghawho? Where is that..
Why are we having this divisive discussion? This is similar to the whole small island, big island Caribbean convo. We are all one people! 🇬🇭 🇯🇲 👊🏿
Did he really say…he’ll put Jamaica on the map? 🤩😁🤣
I see arrogance in ur write up...Most people don't really know the Country Jamaica in terms of how the Country really or actually looks like especially most Africans or Ghanaians or Chinese where wode was based years ago buh may have heard of Jamaica because of reggae or something..Soo wode Maya was only may be speaking from that angle...Soo stop the Comparison with Ghana cos in Africa Ghana is also really known cos of football n other things as well as some parts of the world...Soo the arrogance won't help any of us..bless
Bro, our choice of words reflects our state of mind. If a Jamaican youtuber said that he can put Ghana on the map, I would expect someone from Ghana to say something and maybe not as diplomatically as me. It would be very disappointing if no one stood up. You call it 'divisive' I guess everyone is different.
Big up soai and jilly and my boy wode maya
BRO..NIGERIAN JOLLOF ALL WAY..OUR RECIPE IS ALWAYS CLASSIC DON'T FUCKING MIND WODE FOR BEEN SO SENTIMENTAL ABOUT THE JOLLOF ISSUES! REGARDLESS OF OUR INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES?
#🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬4LIFE🙌🙌🙌🙌
I stay in west Africa half of the year. I really have to travel with a few of my seasonings like Jamaican curry, pimento seed, scotch bonnet pepper sauce, jerk sauce etc. Because if I don't the food, will have an African flavor which I'm not going for. I love African food don't get me wrong.
All the seasoning you men except from jerk seasoning, we cook with that in Africa, who goes to Africa with scotch bonnet pepper 😂😂😂 woe just cook with it in a different way
Yes, I agree. In Ghana I buy all of my Jamaican seasonings when in Ghana. We have to remember that this is a Jamaican restaurant but they cater for a mostly Ghanian crowd. I love Jam Rock restaurant. I don't expect it taste like my food because as a Jamaican I prepare food differently. The food is good..just slightly different.
@@shelterlovely I do. Curry in Africa is not the same as in Jamaica plus I have never seen a single pimento seed. I have seen scotch bonnet pepper and have used it but it doesn't tastes the same. Once customs doesn't prevent me from taking it and I have space trust me it is in my suitcase. I Really can't help myself I'm very particular about my food.
@@shelterlovely tell her 😅😅😅
ALSO...WODE IS SOME HOW PARTIAL ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO THIS ISSUE OF WHO HAS THE BEST JOLLOF RECIPES BETWEEN NIGERIA AND GHANA?
#ONEAFRICA4LIFE✊🏼🙌✊
🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
Happy Valentine’s Day: Super Ball iha too: Best gifts: Dats true ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇯🇲🇺🇸enjoy each other❤️❤️❤️🌹Ghana…wow!! Great to meet all de original African da5 came to Jamaica way in Columbus Days…Sinagalean, Sierra Leone’s, Cameron, Ethiopian, Etc…many..it’s like 50 different tribes
*#JollofWar*
We can never settle this simply because......
Apart from the differences in seasoning, type of rice, and the method of preparation, I believe the outcome heavily depends on two people. *The person who cooks it*, and *the person who tastes it* Generally, I prefer Ghanaian jollof, however, I have also had some awful Ghanaian jollof..party jollof especially😲 and I've also had some OK Nigerian jollof...so.. *it depends..* 🙂
This video gave me so many laughs. I don't think there can be a favorite dish in Jamaica. I think it's just what you feel for at the time. Too many awesome dishes here. The motherland is awesome. Looking forward to experiencing Ghana in the future. 😀
I *love* roasted plantain and fried plantain they are sooo *good* 😋😋
Ackee and saltfish with plantains is a wonderful dish.
With dumplings. I love Jamaican food
I agree 👍
GHANA JOLLOF ✨🇬🇭🇯🇲🇬🇧

Aww, Maya with the jollof thing is so hilarious. He spoke da truth
Omg I love the feud over Jollof rice! :)))) My Nigerian friends swear they make the best but I've heard that its true origin is from Senegal. Regardless of where it comes from, Jollof is sooo delicious! You both are doing such an amazing job at bringing Jamaica and Africa to the world! We are all so connected and its all about love, sharing and supporting each other! so much love to you and Jilly!
😂 you guys cracking me up, this is some great stuff.

Loving the vibe
Saw her on Family Feud Ghana recently. Steve told her to promote her business, that's when I realized I saw her here. Wish her success in her business.
That’s right!
Nice collaboration, I am trying roasted plantains today, I think what you are tasting in the Oxtail is tomato paste.
Jamaican food the best in the 🌍 Straight!! My 2 personal favourite dishes is Curry Goat & Rice & Stew pea's & Rice 🍚
Brother has an awesome laugh :P
i was scared for you to answer when he asked you if you ate pork lol I could picture him telling you get out of my car! lol
Yaa Asantewaa is a legend like Queen Nani of the Maroons. Yaa Asantewaa defended the Golden stool and took up arms led the battle against the British. Same as Queen Nani did in Jamaica. And Queen Nani and others were slaves taken from Ghana as most Jamaicans were taken from Ghana though some were also taken from the western Africa.
I really missed this oooh my
