Wode Maya stops to get us one of his favorite street foods in Ghana, roast plantains with ground nuts. This was actually quite interesting and good, it reminded me of the Kelewele we tried days before, minus the spices. We later hung out talking about food and culture before I headed off to check out a Jamaican restaurant in Ghana.

Steve, everything Wode said about the JOLLOF is perfect explanation of the origin of it and how Ghana enhanced it! Now, with the Nigerian rice, they usually use parboiled rice, stoney are plumper and becomes mushy, so,then taste changes the flavour of their JOLLOF, Ghana loves jasmine rice a lot, so the JOLLOF or cooked white rice are separated when cooked! I personally believe that, because jollof depends mostly on the richness of the stew, I think we(ghana) make the best stew, with a lot of good flavours, so our JOLLOF always wins, my love! Hey Jilly. The best of all is Home made JOLLOF!!

Wode Maya said in one of his vlogs that he wanted to come to Jamaica and added that (HE,... WODE MAYA) was going to put Jamaica on the map. People say a lot of things,... and sometimes their mouth is in gear before their brains is fully engaged. Find a country any country and go into some obscure side street, then ask the first person you meet to name someone from Jamaica. Then ask them to name someone from Ghana. Oops Jamaica is already on the map, who knew, right. Ghana is 22 times larger than Jamaica. Jamaica has a population of 2.9 million compared to Ghana almost 30 million. Look... just come to Jamaica bro, "mi casa es su casa" it's all good. We all have DNA from Ghana about 1/3 of mine is from Ghana. It's the Mother country we love you all and pray for you to be successful in all your endeavours. One Love.

We can never settle this simply because......
Apart from the differences in seasoning, type of rice, and the method of preparation, I believe the outcome heavily depends on two people. *The person who cooks it*, and *the person who tastes it* Generally, I prefer Ghanaian jollof, however, I have also had some awful Ghanaian jollof..party jollof especially😲 and I've also had some OK Nigerian jollof...so.. *it depends..* 🙂

Yaa Asantewaa is a legend like Queen Nani of the Maroons. Yaa Asantewaa defended the Golden stool and took up arms led the battle against the British. Same as Queen Nani did in Jamaica. And Queen Nani and others were slaves taken from Ghana as most Jamaicans were taken from Ghana though some were also taken from the western Africa.

I enjoyed the video, you seemed as if you were at home. I was trying to ask Jilly about what I asked you all last week, and I got cut off from the LIVE. I'm still waiting for the answer. Keep on enjoying. Bless.
