Hiya pal was good to meet you today. We were on our way back from yordas cave. Glad you are getting out and about and getting back to it. Keep em coming pal
@@andrewbarr5227 good to meet you both as well. Hope you had a great day. Thanks for watching the videos... I'll be out filming again soon. ATB Alistair 👍
First Alistair, thank you for the lovely mention. Excellent to see you out and about in the Dales and your take on Fountains Fell. I've had a few close shaves with left behind cameras and tripods. I've been lucky on a couple of occasions, in busy places, that I've got them back. Great film. Best wishes, Chris
@@medievalladybird394 Thanks very much, I've been out and about a fair bit... just haven't felt like filming any of it! Once again thanks for watching and commenting, ATB Alistair 👍
I reckon the view of Pen y ghent from Fountains fell is one of the best views in the Dales...i saw it in Snow a few years back...i will never forget it.
Hi Alistair. Great to see you back out again in the hills. What a lovely looking walk, with some amazing views. I bet it can be a bleak old fell in the winter months, or June, July & August as they are now know! Haha All the best mate Dave
@@DAoutdoors 😂😂 We've not had much of a Summer have we! It's a quiet hill generally, a good hill for the Summer holidays!! Thanks for watching,ATB Alistair 👍
Great video Alastair- really missed you 👍 Looked a lovely quiet walk as the lakes are normally packed. Interesting to see that other hill with a Welsh man 🤷🏻♂️ (Pen y Ghent) means ‘the top of Ghent hill’. Crazy to see that mineshaft open to the elements
@@PhilipOlsen11 That's interesting about the Welsh connection! Lovely and quiet up there Phil, I only saw 1 person all day... just the way I like it 😂 When I first went up Fountains Fell in the late 70's the old mine shafts weren't fenced off 😲 Thanks for watching and commenting it's much appreciated cheers Alistair 👍
Don’t think I’ve ever been up Fountains Fell Alistair, thank you for showing us. So close to the three peaks and yet you had the place to yourself. That was awkward gate of the week! Leaving a tripod, I’ve done that before! Can imagine it in its hey mining day. You can see how windy it is and the audio is great. Ah it’s Fountains Abbey Land, great reason! Great to see you back out 👍
@@GENerationXplorers It's a lovely quiet hill, even with the Pennine Way crossing over close to the summit. Thanks for watching and commenting, ATB Alistair 👍
@@WainwrightWalksWiaLocalLad looks stunning Alistair. We are undecided about a quiet hike in Wensleydale or combining some of the busy Yorkshire Peaks. This looked very tranquil although it sounds like the weather might have put off some of those Pennine Way folk.
@@GENerationXplorers IMHO the best walking in the dales is in the dales not on the tops!... controversial eh!? Wensleydale and Swaledale are my favourites, although Wharfedale is beautiful as well 🤔 As for hills...I think Pen Hill above West Wilton in Wensleydale takes some beating, the heather will just about still be in bloom and it has superb views on a good day 👌 The 3 peaks are almost always busy these days so I tend to avoid them except by odd!! routes 😂 Enjoy your trip if you make it, midweek will be better... weekends are blighted by the "fast" boys on motorbikes (and that's from a confirmed petrolhead and motorcyclist!)
