Hey Big B, great vid on the s wake, and glad your happy to have it back. I have the Firma 160a in my V2, 6.5 castles on the motor leads, 7mm cooling lines and temps have all been really good, even with the dasboata prop. The CNC1716, and CNC4519 run really well, however noticed the 1716 was faster. Look forward to seeing more and thanks for the tips on the V2.
This boat is amazing!!! I have one and I love it. Rc boat bitz makes some sweet trim tabs and turn fins Plus his rudder Is a half inch longer then factory and that makes a Huge difference with steering. Me and 3 of my friends with the same boat stock seemed to only turn at high speeds and not low/medium well until we got the upgraded rudder.
I finally picked up my sonic wave to what I had in Vancouver Nevada. I’m hoping to get in the water this weekend for the first time. I will post comments on my FaceTime. I love this channel that’s a lot of their help. Keep up the good work.
The deep vee hull is most definitely meant to be ran on the rugged edge. And with the self righting it allows you to do just that. I love my SonicWake and really appreciate alo the tips you have provided for getting the most out of this rc. Thx big B
My version 1 has been so much fun to run. Like I have told you in the past that I have upgraded mine just by watching your videos. The prior owner sold me the boat for $100 after he sunk the boat. I installed a Flycolor 150amp esc along with a 4074 motor. This boat was smashed at the nose and the side split. I don’t have a gps (yet) so not sure the speeds I’m hitting but it sure is pretty flying across the water. My temps are right around 100 but my water temp are colder in Wisconsin. New coolant lines coming and I’m using spring clamps for a more secure connection. Great video!
@@IRONCLADRC With your help it is for sure. It is such a great experience to open the lid and not see a drop of water inside! Not so with my Recoil, the waterline came off again. Can’t wait for the postoffice for the new lines and Y connections.
One last thing. I may be wrong but since I installed the adjusters on my stabilizers my boat handles better. What if water pressure is affecting the ones without the adjusters? The faster you go bends the metal just so slightly, then you go slower and you get a different result.
New to subscribe to your videos, and have gotten a lot of helpful info on the Sonic Wake V2, which I’m planning on purchasing soon. You mentioned the cooling upgrade in numerous videos. What size drill bit are you using on the ESC water barbs. Thanks

I see it says reccomemend is 2x 3s 100C+ packs could i run 2x 3s 80c packs? What would be the downside of running 80c compard to 100 in a boat, would it damage the boat/batteries?. 80c is the highest I got and as you know batteriees are expensive so if I have to buy more for this that would just mean longer until i can use it :( Thanks in advance!

It's not the batteries causing the power cut and hot wires it's the prop you're running. It rips because it's a high-performance propeller. That prop pulls a lot of current, causing a power cut. I thought it was batteries too, so I installed a cap pack on the speed control, but it didn't help one bit. Definitely the prop. Try slow liner trigger pulls it doesn't cut as much.
It ran fine the first two times although the electrics seemed very warm. Third run, I drove a little faster after lubing the shaft. Electrical system and batteries were really HOT. @@IRONCLADRC Nahh. I did use a 6cell 5500mah instead of my 3 cells. Put i in center of the boat. Perhaps i should move it more to the side. The boat is stock. Nothing added.

Hey Big B. I just got an Impulse 32 which also has bad cavitation out of the hole with the stock prop. What prop would you recommend with that boat to get out on plane a little quicker and still keep most of my speed?
Never run that boat but I'd imagine an Octura 4514 would do the trick or 642 or 645 but watch those temps with the 45mm props and the high kv motor if you want to play it safe Octura 4214 or 642
@@IRONCLADRC Thanks! One more question if you have time. I just ran the boat with the stock prop and the horizon 5000mah 100C 3S packs and my wires/connectors were scorching hot when I was done. I measured 175 Celsius! It does not make sense to me why it’s getting so hot with all stock components.
If your wires are getting hot, I wouldn't run the 45mm props. I recommend going with the 42mm props Wires get hot it's somewhat normal. If your boat is trimmed down running wet, it'll cause more resistance, increasing temps, you can try adjusting your trim tabs up and moving batteries forward. Not too much, just a little bit sometimes this helps sometimes not so much. Good luck 👍
I run a sonic wake v2 but now the boat wont go fast anymore in the wster like half speed. I checkt my shaft greased it checkt if the shaft is goning aggainst my tube but that is ok. Can it be the esc or is the shaft slipping in my motor coupler Out of the water i dont see it slipping in the coupler
Some times we miss the lvc warnings, and over discharge our packs. Highest lvc option in the SWV2 manual is 3.4v per cell which in my opinion is to low, I'm aiming to help the absolute beginner, the ones who don't know what LVC power cut is.
@@IRONCLADRC ohhh I gotcha. You should do a run and just use lvc, you’ll see it isn’t actually 3.4 when it cuts, it’s much higher. I have to set mine to like 3.3 or so for it to cut of at 3.7v.

@@IRONCLADRC Nahh. I did use a 6cell 5500mah instead of my 3 cells. Put i in center of the boat. Perhaps i should move it more to the side. The boat is stock. Nothing added.
Yeah the battery is to light
@@IRONCLADRC i found the issue by testing. I placed the single cell as close to the middle in the battery space. It should be against the wall. Have you tride 2x4cell. Will the esc and motor handle it?? I have some 4 cell hard case from my Arrma kraton.
@@IRONCLADRC Did you test out 8cell on stock esc??
Big Bib,
Are you joking about the white one being faster than the black one?
Yes I was just having fun
I recommend going with the 42mm props
Wires get hot it's somewhat normal. If your boat is trimmed down running wet, it'll cause more resistance, increasing temps, you can try adjusting your trim tabs up and moving batteries forward. Not too much, just a little bit sometimes this helps sometimes not so much. Good luck 👍
@@IRONCLADRC Awesome. Thanks!
Move your trim tabs and adjust your strut up a little. Best prop I ran was a 1717 on the impulse 32.
Can the CNHL 6s 9500mah will fit on this boat
Yes
@@IRONCLADRC thank you
I run a sonic wake v2 but now the boat wont go fast anymore in the wster like half speed.
I checkt my shaft greased it checkt if the shaft is goning aggainst my tube but that is ok.
Can it be the esc or is the shaft slipping in my motor coupler
Out of the water i dont see it slipping in the coupler
Could be the coupler slipping, or the drive dog slipping
Why are you running an alarm? Why don’t you set your esc to shut down at the voltage you want?
Some times we miss the lvc warnings, and over discharge our packs. Highest lvc option in the SWV2 manual is 3.4v per cell which in my opinion is to low, I'm aiming to help the absolute beginner, the ones who don't know what LVC power cut is.
@@IRONCLADRC ohhh I gotcha. You should do a run and just use lvc, you’ll see it isn’t actually 3.4 when it cuts, it’s much higher. I have to set mine to like 3.3 or so for it to cut of at 3.7v.
Roger that, I'll definitely do this.. thanks for the content idea
What is the stock prop on the v2
I think it's 43 1.6p stock SW PROP
I want the new Jetstream
Cool looking boat for sure.
90. Kmh. D'ORIGINE.
Like a dummy I puffed my bats, they were on their 3rd year so I got my use out of them ,pair of spectrum 5000 3s packs, sucks.
Please edit the pubic hair off of your boat at 3:50
Beard hair lol
@@IRONCLADRChow did that get there😂
B. u da man, V2, take- 2 all Spektrum stock with 160a all the way! Let's see what it all can do together.!! #blowyournipples
Roger that, let's goooo 👍
New to subscribe to your videos, and have gotten a lot of helpful info on the Sonic Wake V2, which I’m planning on purchasing soon. You mentioned the cooling upgrade in numerous videos. What size drill bit are you using on the ESC water barbs. Thanks
Thanks for watching, and welcome to the boat gang. I can't remember what size bit I used, but when I do the upgrade, I'll make a video, including drill bit size.
