4… Feeder - Torpedo (2022)… When It All Breaks Down, Hide & Seek, Decompress, Submission, Desperate Hour... It's not that bad, not good but acceptable all the same... 2.75*
3… Close Lobsters - Foxheads Stalk This Land… (1987)… Just Too Bloody Stupid, A Prophecy, In Spite of These Times, I Take Bribes, Pimps... Some nice stuff but nothing special and done better by the several bands that they remind me of... 3.25
2… Stone Temple Pilots - No.4 (1999)… Sour Girl, I Got You, MC5, Atlanta, Heaven & Hot Rods… This really is not my kind of music but it is pretty catchy in places... 3.75
1… Costello Music - The Fratellis (2006)… Vince The Loveable Stoner, Creepin Up The Backstairs, For The Girl, Chelsea Dagger, Whistle For The Choir, Henrietta... I liked them at the time and to some extent agree with your negatives about this album, though I don't mind some of the considered weaker efforts... 4*... Like yourself, I think I would cherry pick too...
Considerations... Badly Drawn Boy - The Hour Of Bewilderbeast (2000)… or The Zutons - Who Killed...... The Zutons (2004)

Whoa! Wasn't expecting this one - glad you liked it! 😃(No. 4 at No. 1, haha...)
There are a few heavy moments scattered throughout their discography, but this one has the most all in one place, so I was thinking it might get dinged, haha... If you like this one, you'd probably really dig their whole discography with Scott Weiland (6 albums) - they love exploring rock genres. I'm still getting used to the new vocalist myself, so the jury's out on the rest for me...
I really liked the Close Lobsters one and will definitely check out their others! (Maybe it's 'cause I'm not super familiar with the genre, but "In Spite of These Times" in particular really hits the sweet spot for me...)
Need to listen to The Fratellis more - and, did you have a recommendation for a starter Feeder record?
Man... I've got such a long list of recommendations... How about another modern one? Either Hyper Relevisation by Eve 6 (2022) or KNOWER FOREVER by KNOWER (2023). 👍
    Cheers!

There's a Feeder discography ranker on the channel. Everything you need to know about Feeder in one place. But the not so easy answer is; Echo Park for pop-punk catchiness. Comfort in Sound for heartbreaking lyrical sadness after the suicide of their drummer. Pushing the Senses for their peak of success and biggest hits. All good records (although I personally have some difficulty with Comfort in Sound, as the lyrics are amazing but the musical compositions sound a bit tired. But most Feeder fans swear by it as a masterpiece). Hope that helps.

@@tokyochuchu Oh geez, I actually think I knew this video existed, I just wasn't familiar with the band so I didn't check it out - thanks for the primer! I'll check out the ranking vid once I've done some poking around! (They're one of those bands I've read about for years but never listened to...)
Also meant to say - quality lobster pun! 😂👍🦞 (Limp Bisque-it - now THERE'S the crossover we've all been waiting for! 😆)
