His musical vibrations resonated with your inner core. Other vocalists with this extra something are John Wetton of Asia (deceased), Justin Hayward of Moody Blues, David Coverdale of Deep Purple and White Snake, to name a few. It is true that everyone has a special connecting point where this synchronicity happens, so while these vocalists have that special depth that emotionally satisfies many, some may be left feeling nothing. Like I said, it is a primal, synchronistic; almost inexplicable thing but you know it when you feel it. Ben touches millions of men and woman with his lovely spirit, stunning physicality and super talent.
Was this a warm up gig in a barn for a tour? I saw these guys in BR, La on the Candy-o tour (in '79). It was near the end of that year's tour. You could tell they were tired, yet still they were feekin ON. Just like in this (and the other videos from barn the '78), these guys played their music accurately every time. I remember when "The Cars" came out ... every song a HIT. I was playing in a Rock band at the time in New Orleans, 3-4 nights week in and out, and the Cars probably influenced us more than Zeplin, Styx, and Journey had done years earlier when we formed. What a Music period to grow up through. The '70's and early '80's were THE BEST of all time.
This was a gig at a university in England, it was part of a series called rock gives to college that featured bands playing at different universities in England. The audience was always made up of students from the university. They went on from here through parts of Europe and did the musikladen recording in Germany on the same trip.
In a couple of interviews they said Elliot and Dave were very sick while on tour in the U.K.. Dave said he didn't even remember playing one gig. They also said that when they were touring there, their gigs got bigger and bigger as they went along. I got to see them once. They were such a great band!
Man I miss these guys
Just a great American rock band. Hit after hit after hit after hit after hit....

Easton was a criminally underrated guitar player. Not flashy but always perfect within the context of a song.

His voice was one of the best for it had range and that special timbre and tonality that few vocalists have but you know it because it touches something deep and primal inside your body.
So many great musicians including Hawke on keyboards. Another musician who gave the Cars their unique and very recognizable sound
What an amazing band! I love all their songs and still sound fantastic. They sound so good live
The 1978 album is underrated as one of the greatest albums of all time....all time.
Please someone beam me back to the 80’s… FOREVER! ❤

@@SerenityTexas Yeah, they were sick alright... hungover from the previous night's drinking.
Way ahead of their time, music still stands the test, just as great live as on the vinyl!
